Exactly.  Our supposed top 2 WR’s did nothing positive tonight.  The drop off in Diggs play the second half of the season has been staggering.  He is never open anymore.  And he looks like he could care less out there.

Right now Shakir is our most explosive WR.  We need to be feeding him Kincaid and Cook.  They are the future of this offense w some nice additions at WR in the offseason.

But big time kudos to the defense stepping up at the end.  We have a pulse!  Next week against Dallas should be another big time game!  Let’s go Buffalo.

This is the wrong logic to have. Yes Diggs has struggled lately, but Shakir is great for the role he has right now. Diggs is still more capable of making the tougher catches and I don’t think Shakir would be able to handle increased attention to him by opposing defenses. Right now the only future the Bills should be focused on is next week and through the end of the season, and Diggs is still a main cog in that

Sometimes I forget how fortunate we are. It’s easy, over time, to become comfortable with something/someone being in your life or on your team.

But my goodness, name another QB who could deal with the constant onslaught he saw today. Nonstop blitzes, most of which were never picked up by our own line. Constantly avoiding defenders and avoiding sacks. The list of QB’s not named Allen who could have done what he did today is very very short.

And i’ve never ever seen his flip out like a gigantic crybaby like Mahomes did after the game.

According to some on here that’s the only way you can show leadership and that you’re a competitor though  🤦‍♂️

    Game of inches.

We got very lucky, though.  The usual issues did present themselves - but we got bailed out by a receiver who was an inch into the neutral zone.

A W is a W, but it doesn't alleviate my trepidation in close games.

Couple of things - he was an entire body in front of anyone else on the Chiefs.  You have to line up behind the football, he very clearly was not.  If it was an inch they wouldn't have called it.

Second, they finally win a close game and you still think they can't win close games?  That doesn't make any sense.  Does it make up for the other games this year that they should've closed out but didn't?  No, but this game has to help any fan's confidence that the Bills can win the close ones

Both were WRs taken in the fifth round, and we took the wrong one, presumably because of his special teams prowess.  It’s fair to question that.

    It’s a 5th round pick, total

crapshoot. Clearly if any team thought he would be this good, he would’ve been taken in the first/second round. I’m not sure questioning 5th round picks is really worth the energy, that’s all

No clue what you're trying to say. Please stay on the Pats message boards where they understand drivel.

Thanks for telling me my future plans. I was not aware. I guess I'll somehow try to buy back the Dallas tickets I just sold to my cousin.

Hey man you do what you gotta do-I assume this means goodbye then, because if you aren’t watching any games any more there’s no need for you to post on here. Have a great life!!

This Eagles security guard, or whatever the ***** he is, gets involved in something he should have no part of?? And Greenlaw gets ejected for a 'smell my finger' move? I get what that fatty was trying to do, but it was not his place. I'm so glad the Niners pushed the Eagles stools in last night. This league is so out of control with just about everything, officiating mostly. Ever since gambling on sports became legal just about everywhere, the league has been a major disgrace. Coincidence? I don't think so. And all Roger can talk about is getting rid of the 'tush push'. I'm so close to just watching reruns of Duck Dynasty or Storage Wars on Sundays. I hope the NFL ratings plummet.

If it's that easy to get a star player thrown out of a game, then every team should have some douche loser stand on the sidelines and get in every opposing players face and talk shiit. If it works, why not. Seems like something Belichick would've come up with.

That call they got 100% right. Intentional or not, Greenlaw hit a person who isn’t even a player in the face-yes he barely touched him, but still hit him. He has to be able to control himself better when he was the one who initiated everything in the first place with his duplex of Smith. The security guard had no business getting involved so his ejection was correct too.

As far as you not watching-yes you will, you won’t stop watching. You’re on a Buffalo Bills message board creating a thread about a game the Bills aren’t even involved with-you’re not going anywhere

    There’s a reason he’s 0-6 in OT.

Yeah and he scored a TD before the end of regulation that should’ve won it too…or does that not fit your narrative here?

He gave the Bills the lead TWICE on his last 2 possessions, it’s weird that people want to pin the loss on him

What’s even more telling is the situations of his interceptions a couple have been deep shots like on 3rd & 20 which essentially were punts and one was on that hail mary end of half vs Jets.

It’s still an interception though. Not really a fan of “just think of it as an arm punt” NO, it’s an interception. You hardly ever see other QBs throw “arm punts.” The Hail Mary interception was a stupid throw the other week. As soon as the play broke down, he should’ve just ran for 15 yards and taken the game to half. If the narrative of him not being interception prone is going to go away, then stop with the unnecessary interceptions

The Vikings didnt even score on that drive. The Bills were up 27-23. The Defense stopped them on the goal line, and got the ball back with the lead 27-23. The Cam Lewis play should have been irrelevant as long as our Center and QB execute a simple snap. That loss was NOT on Cam Lewis.

Sorry, gotta disagree with you here. Cam knocks that ball down, which he easily could/should have, game over. I believe it was then the next game (or shortly after) where he almost lost the Bills another game

I still vomit in my mouth every time I see that dude on the field.

Don't care that we have the melon farmer and some think he's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

This team is in year one of a minimum three year playoff drought.  "Why, Pine?" You might ask. Well, it's simple, really. It's the salary cap. (All numbers 2024 per spotrac)

First up is the melon farmer himself, at a whopping 47 MILLION dollars next year. He's gotta be a whole lot better than what he is at that price tag.

Next we have the illustrious Non Miller with a 23 MILLION dollar cap hit for zero tackles, zero pressures, zero forced fumbles, zero production.

The next nothingburger with an enormous cap hit is Dawson Knox, who's got us on the hook for 14.4 million dollars.

Tre White is next, feel bad for the guy, but his career is over. 16.6 against the 24 salary cap.

That's 101 million dollars in cap hoovered up by four players, and we can't really do a whole hell of a lot to get out from under that load in 24 or 25. Now, that only half the equation. The other half is the replacements to be necessary in the upcoming two years:

    Hyde - washed

    Poyer - washed

Milano - love the guy, but I have doubts about his future long term

Morse - long in the tooth

    Davis - need better

Epenesa/Groot - given the cap, no way we keep both

Diggs - yes, diggs. He's 29 THIS YEAR. We're going to need to replace him soon.

This list isn't all inclusive but you get the point. The point is, we're not WASTING the melon farmer's prime years, we've WASTED them. By the time this team next sniffs the playoffs, it'll be the year of our Lord two thousand and twenty-six, and Josh Allen will be 30 years old.

Will he be better at 30 than now? I have my doubts.

What's the fix? ***** if I know at this point but what I do know is this team, as it's constituted today is done now and into the intermediate term. Flane away haters, but numbers don't lie.

So regarding the “melon farmer” what else do you want him to do?! Aside from cutting down on turnovers, what else can he do? In 3 of their losses, he did what he was supposed to do-he gave the team the lead late in the game. If the defense actually holds a team, they are 9-3 and this discussion isn’t happening. His cap hit is huge next year, honestly who cares? Arizona, chargers, ravens, broncos, etc all will have bigger cap hits for the QB next year and I would much rather have our guy.
That being said, I can’t complain too much about anything else you said. They have done a pretty poor job, outside of linebacker, of having young cheap replacements who are ready to step in…that’s also on McDermott for not actually playing these guys and figuring out what you have

Yeah, I want viable weapons and Diggs looks like he’s either 1) not trying anymore 2) washed after the first half of the season.  Either way, I’ll let go before I’m burned rather than hope a 30 yr old WR is going to turn over a new leaf.

Even so, him not “trying any more” is still better than anything else the Bills have and better than like 80-85% of the receivers in the league

I understand the frustration that everyone has, I have it to, but to want to drive the best player on the team out of Buffalo is crazy

  12. 10 minutes ago, DCofNC said:

At half time, I said, “it’s time to make some hard decisions, the first one needs to be letting Diggs go, he’s not the same guy, huge cap hit, no performance.”’  He’s not a difference make any more.  Trade him and get what you can.

These statements baffle me - “get what you can” NO YOU DON’T GET WHAT YOU CAN FOR A CLEAR WR1

if a team puts together an impressive offer then sure you entertain it, but you’re not trading him for just anything. I’m assuming you want to get rid of McDermott as well (which is fine) but you presumably want your new coach to start his time in Buffalo with no viable weapons at the WR position?

Yeah, I’m surprised Sherfield has been non existent. A few of my friends who are Dolphins fans were bummed they didn’t retain him. Thought we’d see more of him. Unfortunately that isn’t the case. Next man up.

Well we all ripped Beane and McD for spending all that money on the STs for those years but they only had one blunder during it… Kick Off in the 13 second game at the end.

Punting this year is awful and Bass has been up and down. Coverage on punts has been diabolical but that’s a combination of zero hang time on Martin’s boots.

Gilliam out of the STers, I give a pass to on the finances though as he does well when he’s in as a blocker so he at least has another use than ST full time.

Someone else had mentioned Bass not being great this year-is there something I’m missing? He missed the extra point, but I feel he’s been pretty solid this year, no?

    It'll make more sense then.

I did-you mention a team the Bills don’t even play all season and 2 teams they haven’t played yet. I get that you’re looking at the better teams they have played, but to me the point you’re trying to make just doesn’t land

Well, somehow they've managed to beat the Fins, Cowboys, Chiefs, and Vikes by averaging nearly 30 PPG against them, which is more than we've done.

Not sure it matters which offense of ours shows up, we should be much more concerned that our overrated D gets exposed.  It's been great against teams with siht QBs, but not so great against teams with good ones that are well coached.

And as usual, it's pretty unlikely that we'll outcoach them.

It's a lot more likely that we'll need 30+ points on the board to beat them.  They've averaged 32 PPG at home.

The Over is 48.5, that sounds like a good bet.

I honestly don’t even understand what that first part even means. The Bills don’t even play the Vikings, put up 50 against the dolphins, and haven’t played the other 2 yet. I actually think this year the def is NOT overrated for once. They have been decimated by injuries but are still holding teams under 20 ppg. Yes they gave up terrible game ending drives in 2 losses, so maybe that’s where your overrated statement comes from.

Its very possible the Bills need 30+ on Sunday, but the Eagles are not the juggernaut your statement is attempting to convey

Tell me you didn't think that was trash

These bigger game halftime shows aren’t for people like us. The NFL gives less than zero F’s if guys generally 30+ years old who comment on message boards like the halftime show. My guess is there are plenty of women (the demographic they’re actually targeting) were completely fine with it unfortunately

The bettors know what this board tends to forget in its depression over the team's recent performance: The Bills are a top-five team perfectly capable of beating any other team at any time, and not via flukes or "any given Sunday."

Big game. Win here and the narrative shifts, not just for the fans and the media, but, more importantly, for the team.

    But let's win first.

Well it’s also because this board overanalyzes every tiny, minute detail about this team and only look at the records of the teams the Bills are facing. Yes the Eagles are 9-1, but several of their wins are just as ugly as Buffalo….and their one loss was to the Jets

Eliminate replay as an officiating tool and watch the quality go back up. It's pretty simple.

Nobody here is going to perform well at their job with somebody shadowing their every move. Replay ruined officiating.

Replay was brought in because the refs were making mistakes.  I know people look back at the earlier years with rose colored glasses, but refs made tons of mistakes back then as well.  The difference now is that the players are so much faster and stronger than they used to be, plus the addition of social media and everyone having an outlet to voice their opinion on, things seem worse than ever before
