Just like the 49'ers did, Joe?
Technically he did have a very productive season with KC. Injuries and concussions got to him.

I believe it was an injury settlement
Idk why we keep signing this guy, he can’t stay healthy, I liked him in 2017 but again he only plays well when healthy and he has a hard time doing that

Wait didn’t we cut him last year before the season started?

you can do a lot to afford guys without drastic changes in the rosterNot true for BBs case. Brady’s departure alone put them over 13.5 million in dead money

They aren't moving Dawkins to RT. End of story.
If they were going to do it, they would have kept Glenn around in 2019 when he was healthy.
I’d rather bring back Glenn instead of getting Williams, at least we wouldn’t have to give up any draft picks

This is not a new situation, but the Skins will likely want to move on before long. It sounds like this is a pissing contest between player and team, and they're both willing to absorb pain in order to give pain to the other.
Williams had a cancerous growth on his head, which led to the confrontation with the team. If that's all cleared up, he should be a great addition to the Bills. Move Dawkins to RT, make Ford a swing reserve. Next year, Ford starts at guard.
I don’t want him especially at 20 mil. We gotta save money for our own to resign

I say bull#### on this. No way are the Texans that stupid to trade their QB away.

This is the Jets we’re talking about. They can easily fire Gase and let greggo take over
Greg Williams as HC???????. He did such a bang up job here. I don’t think they’re gonna let Gase go. Remember woody left his brother in charge lol.

I sneaky like a few of the Jet moves this offseason. I think they’re still in trouble this season though.
If I was Darnold I would be talking to my agent to try and work on a trade for me lol. Even if they have another crap season, they’re not gonna fire Gase. They’re still paying off Bowles and I believe this is the last year they’re paying Rex Ryan. They’re not gonna keep wasting money hiring/firing coaches.

This is what Ive been thinking. Its either Cam or tank.
They have no cap and they’re gutting their roster. I say they’re tanking
2 minutes ago, purple haze said:He coached Lawrence Taylor. Cam Newton is nothing like L.T. off the field. And L.T. had a serious ego too. Most players do, let alone the top players in the game. Belicheck's cup-o-tea is winning. Cam could wind up there.
LT was a drug addict, but BB wasn’t the HC of the giants either he didn’t have to deal with the players in the same way Parcells had to. Also Pats don’t have any cap room to sign Newton.

I have to admit i enjoyed the Minshew mania or whatever it is they called it last year, it was a lot of fun. He proved once again a QB in the NFL can have success, just depends for how long, a few games or a career.
Minshew has too much a noodle arm to last a career, could be an effective back up but as a starter? I highly doubt it

I think you're very much in the majority but I believe people find it easy to dislike Cam and put down his QB play. Even counting a good (not great) D led by DC McD, he got that team to the SB with a no-name receiving core an average OL and a 15-1 record.
Just 2 years ago he took over a game in Baltimore giving them a beating. He routinely had 300 yard games and dragged the Panthers over the line.
He was a very good franchise QB not in the traditional mold. Funnily, a good equivalent when it comes to putting him down and not accepting his actual achievements is Josh Allen. Of course Newton's persona is much more of a liability than Josh.
The problem here is not just last season. The previous season he missed the last 8 games. Then he made a youtube video where he basically admitted that he lied to staff about how much paIn he was in going into the season. He's destroyed his own credibility.
And because of that I think teams will be very weary of signing him, I still say Miami because of location and because his athleticism would definitely fit in Gailey’s system. But of course it all boils down if he can pass the physical or if his body is completely banged up to hell

They have roughly $20 million in cap space still. They won't touch Cam though...that just doesn't make any sense.
What’s left is probably for their rookies. They don’t have enough for any more free agents, and they never signed a RB lol

I could see him as a Bronco.
Nah, they’re rolling with Lock as their starter
Just now, BuffaloRebound said:If Rivera wants no part of him in Washington, not a good sign for Cam. No demand for diva QB’s who are always hurt and haven’t played well in a couple years.
I think Washington might draft someone this year to compete with Haskins

I think he has a losing record without Brady as his starter, I know he went 5-11 back to back while Bledsoe was under center and he didn’t do much in Cleveland with either Kosar or Testaverde

100 percent agree. Brady saw the ***** show coming from a mile away and wanted no part of it.

New England has no cap space so they'd have to do some restructuring.
I wonder if they cut Edelman since they cut Gostkowski. Hopefully this is the year that they’re so bad that Belichick will leave lol

I'm not surprised given the amount of cash he would cost against their cap & the new HC looking forward not back just don't know who would be looking to a Cam Newton for their immediate future .
The guy was a good player & i liked what he did in college but not so much in the NFL with his number 1 on his jersey & his superman celebration just never liked his schizophrenic attitude from when he would win to when he would lose just always seemed to be a spoiled, over paid primal donna to me sure he is talented but not my cup of tea .
Someone will pick him up i would imagine .
I’m sure there will be suitors but like I said it all comes down if he passes his physical.

Personally, I like Cam. Solid player. Even now.
But, does he have the personality to you that indicates he’d be content as a backup? He’s got a larger than life personality. A personality and ego so big it could divide a locker room at any bumps in the road with Josh. I’m not suggesting we stick with Barkley this year as backup, but Cam and his accomplishments are a threat to Josh. Josh has to be looking forward all year, as it is a critical year in his development. Not over his shoulder. Can’t see them going down that road even if he is a former Panther.
Honestly I might be in the minority but i don’t think newton was ever that good of a QB. Once you take away his athleticism he’s mediocre at best. He’s not a good pocket passer and only puts up good stats against bad teams. No leadership skills and a premadonna attitude to go with it. Was never a Cam Newton fan, especially after he threw some kids computer out the window while at Auburn

Wonder how desperate Doug Moron is down there in Jacksonville lol. He himself has to know that Minshew is not the answer

In a real sense, I don't know if I would hate signing him if there is no market for him... I understand all the reasons not to, and I don't care either way... But he's known, he'd fit our offense, and if he's still rehabbing we've shown to have the facility for that... High level backup/insurance and or trade bait later? It's an interesting idea...
it all boils down to the physical.

If I'm Bruce Arians, I'm checking him out to see if he would take an incentive laden deal (assuming they have the cap space). He can sit behind Brady, heal fully and take over when Brady's gone or hurt. Seems like BA and Cam would get along nicely.
Buccaneers have zero cap room, that all went into Brady’s pocket. Hell they can’t even resign some of the major players in their defense. Idk where they’re gonna find the money to sign their rookies

The way they handled it he was always going to be cut. Deluded Panthers fans were still telling themselves yesterday that he was worth a 3rd.
His next problem is does he see himself as starter. Because nobody will want the drama he brings, the threat to a current QB, the injury risk or the price tag.
Can he accept back up money? I don't think his ego will accept that fall from grace. I think he will retire.
That to is an option, we just saw Fredrick retire due to health complications wouldn’t be surprised if Newton goes down the same road, especially if he can’t find the money he’s looking for. I still stick with my theory that he signs in Miami pending the physical of course. If he fails the physical I can see that forcing him into retirement as well

They can’t afford him plus BB is not dealing with his attitude or ego
Just now, inaugural balls said:Chargers would be my guess
100 bucks says they roll with Tyrod since he’s being paid and they roll with a rookie in the draft. Plus newton turned down a trade to the chargers
I say he’s signing with Miami. They reportedly said they want to go into the season with 4 QBS on their roster. Assuming they don’t trade Rosen

I would think both Miami and New England would be interested. Last week it was reported that McDaniels wanted him so wouldn't at all be surprised if he ends up in New England. Jacksonville is another team to keep an eye on with the trade of Foles.
New England is going through cap problems they can’t afford him and I highly doubt The Emperor would wanna deal with Newton’s ego lol. Miami , Jacksonville seem like more realistic choices for newton. But before anyone signs him he has to pass the physical, idk if he’s still banged up

Not comparing players, but him leaving Dallas reminds me when Hull retired from us. I miss Kent Hull, best center to have ever played in Buffalo. Too bad about his health, Fredrick’s a great player

Montana: Patriots 'made a mistake' with Brady leaving

Exactly, they have ZERO cap room. They were gonna be in trouble with or without Brady. Brady only helped there chance to make a run for the division and nothing else. Brady saw the team was declining around him and wanted no part of it as he knew it’s only going to get worse
