Agree with Greenwald. Schumer declaring our democracy depends on taking Carlson off tv is why normal people have tuned out democrats - along with dozens of other reasons. -

I like that you want to pretend a well-known concept can be tailored to mean something it’s not. I don’t know why you want to do that but I like it nevertheless. -

You and one other person are trying to redefine the concept of a “lead-in show”. I’m not trying to stop you, just pointing out the ridiculousness of imagining that Kimmel is/was a lead-in for GMA, Fallon for the Today Show, or Colbert for CBS Mornings. It’s not a semantic argument. It’s an actual thing. Lead-in Program Definition: A "lead-in" refers to a program scheduled immediately before another program with the goal of drawing viewers to that subsequent show. Strategy: Networks use lead-ins to create a seamless flow of entertainment, boosting ratings and ad revenue by providing a built-in audience for the lead-out program. Effectiveness: A strong lead-in can give a new show a significant audience, making it more likely to succeed. Note the words “immediate” and “seamless”. A six hour gap starting at midnight kind of kills all that. Good heavens. edit - prime example NBC frequently used the massive popularity of Friends to launch other sitcoms as a lead-in program, placing them directly after Friends in its lucrative "Must See TV" Thursday night lineup. By benefiting from the large audience already tuned in, these shows had a better chance of gaining and keeping viewers. Maybe Friends was actually a lead-in for the Today show. It was coming on a mere 10-11 hours later. -

You have responded with feelings rather than information. Oh well. edit - yes. I am absolutely incredulous at what you said about Fallon. Fallon has been on the air for many years. He doesn’t need to lead in. That’s just goofy. Nobody is watching TV from 12 to 6 AM. He’s not leading into anything. Just so we don’t get too carried away by nobody I mean hardly anybody. -

ahem: a lead-in show is designed to have it’s audience carry over to a newer or weaker show in attempt to deliver an audience. In no entertainment world is a show televised 6-7 hours prior, leading into anything other than the show immediately after. Regarding the bolded - maybe in the heyday of network TV. If you have anything that indicates this is still a thing in the modern era/the time of Kimmel, it would make an interesting read. If you would like to show any bit of data that exists that indicates Fallon is a lead-in for the Today Show, I will humbly offer my apologies. I don’t expect that will be necessary. -

If your niece thought you would be interested in canceling for even a second, you must have really shown yourself as a peach along the way. Same reason the personal trainer turned your business away I guess. Try not to be so unhinged all the time. -

I understand that but it was an explanation unworthy of a straight shooting, successful and wealthy attorney such as yourself. It was more of a 4th&long explanation. I know that’s mean but it’s the only comparison I can come up with. -

Can you explain one more time for the audience how this works 6-7 hours later? You said it was because people turn their tv off at night and on again in the morning but that is so dimwitted that it can’t be what you actually meant to say. School us. Please. -

How did you ever come to understand the concept of the six hour gap lead-in? There’s literally not another person on the planet besides the two of us that believe it and I’m a new convert! Really impressive! -

I was pondering how you schooled me yesterday on the “Kimmel provides a lead-in to GMA even with a 6 hour gap between the programs” knowledge. I like the idea that I now know something nobody else in the world knows outside the two of us. Do you think CBS might have shitcanned Colbert because he wasn’t providing a good enough lead-in for CBS Mornings? That show trails GMA and Today rather significantly in viewership. Again, we have to account for a 7 hour gap between shows on CBS. Anyway, I wanted to thank you again for the schooling. -

Is that the first time you have ever used capriciously in a sentence? They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. WRONG. Kudos to you for spelling it correctly as well. Very impressive. Not impressive - the rest of the post. More overwrought dramatics. Sad. -
