That one still pisses me off to this day. That stupid official is looking at everything happening and is so slow to react. I still cannot believe someone didn’t just knock Gronk on his ass and take the fine.

That was one of the few times I was ashamed to be a Bills fan... the other times were when Jarvis would head shot us, and we would just let him get free releases and 100yd games as of trying to avoid him. I hated it knowing that we wouldn’t stand up for each other. So embarrassing.

As pointed out Singletary is still relatively unknown( I did not realize how good he was until about week 10) and Moss has ran for as many yards as I have in the NFL. I will also defend the Gore rating as honoring a dude has been the ultimate pro, but i do not fear the Jets at all.

You shouldn’t defend the gore rating because of what he did 5+ years ago... if a team signs Jim Brown right now, would you defend the ranking if he was listed above current RBs? If you watched Gore last year, you would see that he’s past his prime by a LONG shot! Being an ultimate pro doesn’t mean a diddle if he still can’t produce... which he can’t. He’s even a terrible 3rd and short RB. He literally has zero value on the field... in the locker room is a different story(maybe he should coach). But to use his name as any credibility of a productive tandem running the ball is bonkers at this point in his career.

Well, there's your 'ironic quote of the year' for 2020.  Just nudges out Governor Kemp's remarks regarding asymptomatic spread of Covid 19.

ALL offBOARD the DERAIL TRAIN! Looking to drive this thread off the tracks I see.

If there is any truth to this at all the first thing that comes to mind is, if you make 6 figures a year working for the NFL - WHY would you even think of doing something that stupid ??

They want to prove that they are still Jenny from the block

From my recollection, we only scored on very random turnovers, and the Bills were driving the field the entire game. Once they decided to use Singletery, we were done for. They definitely seemed to out match us all game long, and it caught up to us by the end of the game. I think if this game went a couple more quarters, they would have doubled us up on points.

    who posted that?

Who makes the decision on all challenges?  Does it go to Al Riveron in NYC, or does the ref of each particular game go under the hood and rule in conjunction with someone in NYC?  Sometimes it drags on and on.  Most fans who watch enuf football can see from the first replay if not from the play in live time what the correct call should be.  The mistake that I find most annoying is when the ref mispots the ball at the end of the play.  This happens way too much.  There are what 6 or 7 zebras all over the place, and they come running in and miss the spot by close to a yard sometimes.  You sit there and scream at the TV, "that's clearly a first down", or he was short by a mile".  Mind boggling when they blow the spot.  Or when the receiver clearly comes down out of bounds with at least one foot and they call it a catch with the ref right near the receiver.  Ugh!!  Lets get the call correct the first time.  And if not streamline the process.

The PI review was a joke.  They overturned NOTHING!!  Saints got screwed in the playoff game against Minnesota.  Kyle Rudolph clearly pushed off when catching the winning TD.  That's like in the NHL in an OT playoff game.  Guy is on a breakaway and clearly gets pulled down and no call.

On another topic just for fun, why is there almost no fighting in NHL Hockey any longer?  Anyone have an intelligent answer for me?

I just watched the replay of the Bills Steelers game... that last Steelers throw that was intercepted, Jerry Hughes was tackled from behind. It was SO blatantly  obvious with a ref staring right at them, that you have to wonder. WHY TF was there no flag there? Seriously, WHY?! WTF are rules for?!

Well, in this situation, we don't observe rules... like, wtf, seriously?!

  6. I am thinking, that without Brady in a Patriots logo, they will stop getting the superstar ref calls. Even when Brady was hurt, they were still his team and considered top quality, so they got the benefit of the doubt calls. kinda like the Jordan Bulls... calls magically went their way in key situations, but when Jordan leaves, all the calls tend to start to even out. I think the same will happen. The sub conscious of the refs will know that Brady isn't the QB, so maybe that actually was an illegal pick or push off. Maybe the horse collar grab block by their RT is illegal, and not just a bang bang play protecting the greatest ever born. I really think we may see a swing in favorable Pats calls from here on out... which I hope relates to a couple extra 'L's for that Cheatriots.

IMO leg strength is not the most useful characteristic for a kicker.  I have always had a booming leg going back to my youth soccer playing days.  I have literally knocked bolts out of goal posts from my shot hitting the goal frame and dislocated a few kids fingers playing goalie growing up from them attempting to make saves on my shots. In my first practice on the soccer team in 6th grade the coach literally stopped practice after she saw a shot to try and find out who kicked the ball because it was a laser from about 30 yards out into the top corner of the goal (she was working with some other people on the team about something and looked up and saw it going in the net). The player was me.  So my leg has always been exceptionally strong from a kicking perspective.

I started playing rec football on a few flag and touch leagues as a kicker and spent considerable time working on technique. Leg strength will only get you so far as a kicker.  I have hit 55 yard FG's and probably could hit from 60 based on leg strength.  But I no longer have the leg "whip" speed due to heavy weight training and squats, etc.

And that is actually what is needed more as a kicker than pure leg strength.  How fast you can whip your leg will determine how far the ball goes far more than pure leg strength in most cases.  Now ideally you want both, but if I had to choose one it would be speed of the leg whipping forward as you strike the ball as most important in determining how far the ball will go and not what most people would consider leg strength.

I am thinking we should have drafted you... that was a long, self bloviating, rant to say that speed trumps strength. Nice leg on you though... (I had "Glory Days" by Springsteen playing in my mind when I read this post... good song)
