I understand you want to change the argument by playing the whatabout game.  Feel free to start a domestic violence thread, and I’ll be glad to discuss it there.  I don’t think Josh is racist.  I think he made comments a long time ago that we’re misguided, but they weren’t hateful, and he made them publicly so he wasn’t trying to hide them.  I can’t say the same for Jake.

Both are over blown and over scrutinized... I hate this fickle society we have created.

  2. I want to start this thread by saying that I am in 100% agreement that the officers involved in George Floyd’s death should be prosecuted and dealt with accordingly. The video is heinous, and justice should be sought out. I believe almost all Americans believe that to be true.

ok, so now to the meat of this thread... what are the protests supposed to bring to light? We all can see, and agree that the officers looked to be in the wrong and should have been fired and held accountable. And they have been. They are going on trial for murder... good!

But, is this an issue that is a national epidemic, or is it an isolated incident to promote a political ideology? Are black people being targeted and killed at a higher rate than other races? Or are these rare and infrequent accounts being prostituted out to a far left media to dog whistle communist activists and to play on the emotions of people they want to keep down and dependent?

Now for statistics... black people commit over 50% of the violent crimes in the USA. But almost twice as many white people are killed by the police every year. So, what is the social injustice? Because a random ######ed cop was caught killing a black man on camera, yet twice as many whites are killed by police every year(armed and unarmed... the numbers stay consistent).

It would seem that the extremely rare killing of an innocent black man is being sensationalized by a media with a political purpose. And no one wants to be labeled racist or insensitive in today’s climate, so we all go along with it and ignore facts. Was Floyd’s death terrible and horrific? Yes, absolutely! We all agree! But is that a commonality with law enforcement country wide? Absolutely not! These riots are insane and meant for only a political purpose.

But, I expect nothing less from the politics, ideas and groups that supported slavery, segregation, KKK, and Jim Crowe... Dems always trying to keep minorities in their place and keeping the divide. No wonder they all support the riots and want them to keep going, it’s their pay day. It’s quite disgusting

Road Graders? With the exception of Becton the Jets oline is all smaller/athletic guys who are considered better pass blockers than run blockers. I think most Jets fans are hoping this unit can improve from awful to average. We aren’t talking about the Hogs here.

My thoughts exactly. Probably still a bottom 10 OL... what a joke of a thread

It just seems to be another one of those discussions where the narrative was already set on Josh before he was even drafted and people don't want to change their minds about it.  They used a bunch of stats (which can be manipulated however you want them to look) and then said he won't change at any point going forward. The thing about that statement is that the other narrative about Allen coming out of college was that he was going to be a project and definitely needed a couple of years to develop, but none of these guys ever bring that up any more.  It's just a reminder that these guys are here more for entertainment than analysis

This, a thousand times over... they said he was a project and needed a few years, but now they can make a decision after a year and a half?! Wtf?!

  5. I met Shaq, Jonathan Ogden, Michael Jordan, Robert Horry(spell check), Roger Craig, Donte Witner(with James Hardy), Steven Jackson, Floyd Mayweather(many times), Jimmy Johnson, Dana White, Tito Ortiz, Sam Bradford, Jason Hanson and Jenna Jameson all within my first couple years at my initial job in Vegas... but the first big time athlete I met was Mike Eruzione when I was a little kid at some Victors Awards thing in Vegas. I believe Stan Musial said hello also.

There is a difference between flash speed which may last 1-5 years and true power.  The true power kickers - those that have done in over the long term - are all tall.  Can you find a kicker 5’10 or smaller who routinely kicks it out of the endzone and makes 50 yarders?

Olindo Mare, Del Greco, Matt Bahr, Blair Walsh, Jim Bakken, Phil Dawson, Mark Moseley, Matt Bryant... Jason Hanson misses the cut off by 1 inch... at 6’0”

The word mafia (Italian: [ˈmaːfja]) derives from the Sicilian adjective mafiusu, which, roughly translated, means "swagger", but can also be translated as "boldness" or "bravado".

So it's an Italian term that has grown larger and is now used to describe organized crime in other countries as well.

A lot of words originated from the Greeks, should all the words with their origins be offensive to Greeks? Or can we just pick and choose, depending on how our underwear twists that day?

So you would sign Allen as the highest paid QB without him improving from where he is currently at?

You think the Cowboys are winning Champtionships with Dak?

I’m thinking ‘Steve don’t Billieve’ be a better name.

That list of FA’s is kinda funny when you think about how many of them are back up and rotational guys. Nice to have, but only a handful are difference makers at the NFL level.

The key point you are missing is by tearing down the entire roster to fix the cap hell that didn’t really exist, the new regime created enough holes that allowed the roster to fill out with all of those guys. You don’t need to sign a bunch of DL players if you have DL players on the roster. If you trade or cut all your DT’s or LB’s, then yeah you gotta sign them.

Either way, a ton of the players on your list are luxuries. Good teams don’t win with great depth at every position. They win with star talent. Klein and Matalevich may be better than all the back up LB’s on the Chiefs but that won’t be why we win a Super Bowl.

Is there an option on this board to change a profile name? I’m thinking this name has come to fruition and past due for a new one... or I may be wrong

Hunt got kicked off the team in the middle of a Super Bowl run for pushing a girl who got in his face.  Tyreek didn’t do any of the stuff he was accused of.  He has full custody of all of his kids.  The woman who accused him (same woman both times) has no custody of them.  She’s a gold digging psychopath.

Agreed... I heard the horror stories about what happened, then saw the video. Maybe the telephone game isn’t the best way to relay info. And that massive kick, that tapped her butt... was not really what people made it out to be. But, at the height of the ‘me too’ movement, just being a guy was fault enough. Especially a pro athlete.

I disagree on Edmunds. He was very very likely to be excellent. His floor wasn't low.

Allen ... yeah, fair enough, probably. You have to take risks with a QB. They don't come around as often as you'd like, and when they do, you have to grab one.

Besides, how many QBs DON'T have low floors. Very very few. It's such a huge jump from college to pros that nearly anyone who's not named Luck or P. Manning can fail if they don't pick up skills they've never demonstrated at the college level and speed up their mental processing skills by huge amounts.

How long will it be a team-friendly deal? If we don't win a Super Bowl and Diggs gets angry with a lack of production and threatens a holdout, what will happen? We don't know how team-friendly this deal will be. It's friendly as hell now, it's mega-amicable, super-affable, ultra-cordial, hell, it's downright team-intimate and team-matey. But for how long?

How much of a diva will Diggs end up being?

This wasn't a no-brainer at all. I'm sure they thought pretty hard about it. It could still go either way, IMO.

Geez, get a room with your half empty glass

The phrase has always come off as a bit too close to racist to me....but what do I know, I’m 100% Italian American.

What about the Vikings or Fighting Irish(with a leprechaun)? I’m pretty sure those are dark points in either of their histories... I hate this ‘I’m offended by everything’ culture
