You could be right. It's definelty a risky move. I'm thinking Tua plays. If he doesn't the Bills can very well blowout the Dolphins. That's not a bad thing either. I'd rather lose $100 than the Bills losing the game.
I hope you didn’t put too much down on Miami.

Man I feel bad for all the folks that knew Tua was playing and bet on that. It's a shame.
Line is 12 1/2. Time for the Miami bettors to double down.
Man, I’m glad I got the Bills giving 10.

I remember people absolutely pooping their pants over Steve Young playing football toward the end of his career. I don't recall exactly how many concussions he had, but the way people talked about it was if each snap could be his last.
I have a very low opinion of Mike McDaniel because of how he handled Tua's concussion against us back in week 3. I have very little doubt that he would have filed a protest with the league if Hamlin's injury had happened against his team, and I don't doubt that he'll push Tua out there this week if he can. He's sort of coaching for his job. The combination of the owner's impatience and the coaches' lack of professional ethics is setting up some really ugly optics for this weekend.
Funny you say that-Miami was one of three teams to vote against the proposal to have the AFCCG at a neutral site. All the reason to destroy them Sunday.

He does a very poor job of picking his words.
That quote is taken a little out of context. I’m by no means a fan of this kid, but he went on to explain that he meant by going out every day and competing as best he can. He didn’t mean he was trying to do harm to anyone.

It’s the 18th week of the season…if a guy that is hurt needs the rest he’ll be fine without practice. Also it sounds like at this stage they barely do practice now compared to football in the 90s. A QB at this stage of their career can miss a week of practice, show up and play well. It’s been happening for decades
Maybe one week, but when you haven’t practiced in 3 weeks there’s a problem.

Dunno where to post this question, so ill
plop it here.
if we beat Miami and Cinci beats baltimore, Cinci plays @ Buffalo, correct? Just making sure they didn’t throw a strange stipulation in there.
Correct. Buffalo is the 2 seed and Cincinnati is the 3 seed.

You will never see me post in an in game thread. Does not work for me. I understand some people NEED to react to every play. I don’t. I also don’t read a word of it once the game starts. Different strokes for different folks.
Very smart. Some seem to forget a game is 60 minutes and what you do in the 60th minute is as important to the final score as what you do in the first minute.

Having seen the Bills perform at peak levels like the Patroits' playoff game last year makes me feel like they are not playing to their potential.
The reality is that the competition is stronger. The Dolphins, Jets, Patriots, Lions, and Vikings are all much stronger than they were last season and all outperformed their projections this year. There is also a lot more parity in the league - perhaps not in terms of record, but in terms of week-to-week competitiveness. Houston took the Chiefs to OT. Indy took the Eagles to the final seconds. The Patroits took the Bengals down the final minute. The Raiders took the 49ers to OT. And so on. There are not many easy outs this season. That, combined with the Bills' injuries, particularly on defense, makes it look like the Bills have regressed. Perhaps they really haven't and the league and the Bills schedule is just more difficult than last year.
So I feel uneasy going into the playoffs, as, again, it feels like the Bills are not firing on all cylanders. But again, in reality, they have as good a chance as any team to get to and win the Super Bowl. There probably won't be many blowouts in the playoffs, but I'll happily take close wins if that's what gets the job done.
Bills had 6 losses last year and only 3 this year. They haven’t regressed. There is a lot of recency bias going on.

Have you seen Thompson? Worst QB in the league.

Ok, so according to the flow chart, the difference between a win and loss tomorrow is where the AFCCG will be, correct? (And who we play in round 1, but we need to beat whoever that is. Period.)
So win and neutral, lose and Arrowhead?
You’re forgetting the 2 vs 3 seed as well. If Bills lose and Bengals win, not only would the Bills have to play a AFCCG in KC, but the divisional game against Cincinnati would be played there. There’s a lot to play for tomorrow.

I read 25 out of the 32 teams voted in support of the solution, so seven presumably voted against (or abstained?) I wonder who they were? The Bengals is obviously one. The Bills? The Chiefs? The Ravens? The Giants, perhaps, due to close links to the Bills? Would still leave two teams who voted against the proposal.
Apparently 3 or 4 teams didn’t vote. I understand that there were 4 no votes.

I like how everyone is just automatically assuming the chiefs are winning this week. Bottom line, if they lose and we win, we get the 1 seed. Yeah the championship game could still be at a neutral field, but the bills would get the Bye
No, if Bills win and KC loses Bills get the bye and home field as 1 seed.

I think that's a Bridge Too Far
It's not inconceivable that he might be ready to transfer out of the ICU this weekend and transfer to a rehab facility either in Buffalo, closer to his teammates, or in Pittsburgh, closer to his family, next week.
But let's leave him where he can still be monitored closely for a minute or two yet.
I’d put a video of him together and play it on the Jumbotron.

of course but I am referring to if the Chiefs win and the Bills win. Then Chiefs still get the bye week (win percentage) but AFCCG is played at neutral site? So we get special consideration why? Chiefs have the better win percentage in that scenario, they should get both.
This picking and choosing the advantages of being #1 seed is just ridiculous. Just make the Bengals/Bills game up. Kick the playoffs a week back and move the pro bowl to week after Super Bowl.
They don’t want to kick the playoffs back since it affects the entire league. This way they’re only messing with 3 teams.

We do have to play a wild card game though? Nice. Really hate this method.
Not if KC loses and we win. Bills are then the 1 seed.

I hadn't thought that part through properly - thanks.
So basically only KC or the Bills can be one seed, and get the bye. KC get it with a win this weekend, and only way we can get it is if KC loses and we win.
That does have to be painful for the Bengals - they might well have beaten us and if they had and KC lost, they'd be one seed, now they have no chance.
Admittedly, our chances at the one seed went from fair to slim, and the Bengals chances went from slim to none.
Yep, probably the least painful way to do it.

They didnt screw us. No one on that field was going to play the rest of that game and for good reason. The NFL didnt postpone that game. The players and coaches themselves decided not to play that game. It was too traumatizing.
You have a strange view of reality which leads me back to my original question... are you 12?
The league is saying they also told the teams that the game was postponed. It was a joint decision. No one got screwed. It was just a bad situation that must now be dealt with.

2 minutes ago, Scott7975 said:
This is where I am too. There is no need for some crazy solutions or anything complicated. Just revert to win% and go on with a normal playoffs. I say this knowing that likely mean KC gets the 1 seed again.
Agreed. Win percentage is probably the best and least convoluted method.

He deferred to McDermott and McDermott deferred to the Bills tram captains. It was our decision, 100%.
You’re flat wrong. It was decided jointly with the league office to suspend the game. You’re either a troll or extremely ignorant of the situation.

And the Bills were the ones who decided to stop play. The Bills left town immediately, ensuring there could be no make-up the following night. Why should anyone else be more negatively affected by our decision than us? It was the right choice, but it is one that comes with a certain unfortunate consequence too.
That’s not true. I listened to the presser with The Bengals coach and it was joint and mutual decision to not continue the game.

I don't even view this in that light.
This game is either going to be a game where the Bills come out emotionally charged and dominate largely in honor of their fallen comrade
OR
they're going to be emotionally flat and lose.
Neither would surprise me. And honestly, I don't think I really care if they lose unless the league comes out with a plan regarding the game not played and the Bills still have a pathway to the #1 seed. Let's be honest, the Chiefs are going to be the #1 seed unless the Bills and Bengals game is made up or they're both given Ws (not gonna happen).
Hope Buffalo forfeits and just rests everyone. If we're locked into the #2 or #3 seed who really cares?
2 seed gets you a home game in divisional round, 3 seed you're on the road.

How do you lose a game when you get 5 turnovers? An amazing collapse by the Chargers.
