I was always amused that NH deliberately locates giant state liquor 'supermarkets' at the rest stops just over the state line - they're practically inviting everyone, "Hey, hop in your car & come on up for a trunkload of tax-free booze!"

Damn you, Ralph Wilson... (link) We could have had... Mike Leach

This highlite clip is better, I think - Everett Brown (from yesterday's TSW E. Brown thread - link) Guy looks like he could dominate - would not mind seeing him in a Bills uniform at all.

Talks underway to put NFL Superbowl in London....
The Senator replied to SKOOBY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well Skoob, I guess it's back to the old SKOOOBYmobile for you.... SKOOOBYmobile One thing the NFL is not doing is considering a Super Bowl in London. Goodell dismissed a report that "substantive talks" with officials in London were held. "We have never looked at London or Mexico City as a site," he said. yeah, for some reason it was all over on the college forum this time - r. rich was very good about posting it's location and polls of who the bills should draft on this main forum tho. -

Well this is true, but I believe you do have to first be a tax cheat before Obama will nominate you. -

Sure, why not? Kid grew up in Toronto, Russ is a marketeer, and it would sure help sell the Bills up there... Western's Martin awaits his calling at NFL draft -

OK, BeerSphere - so here's one that Ambassador Wilson will love and, you can tell the whole family... This guy had a snake that was very thin, and very sick. So he takes it to the vet, the vet takes a quick look and says, "Sorry, your snake is very sick and is going to die. That will be $50." Guy says, "I get charged $50, and that's it? Is that all you're gonna do for my snake?" So the vet takes the snake over to a floppy-eared rabbit, and the rabbit points his ears straight up to the ceiling. He takes it to a Black Labrador Retriever, and the dog sticks out his tongue and shakes his head. He takes it to a cat, the cat opens her eyes very wide and then shakes her head violently. Vet says, "There. Happy? That will be another $350." Guy says, "WTF???? $350??? WTF for????" Vet says, "$50 for the second opinion, $75 the for Lab tests, and $225 for the CAT scan." After Ambassador Wilson stops laughing hysterically, plenzmd1, ask him if he thinks the Bills should take a chance on... Vaughn Martin -

Apes are not marsupials. Kangaroos, koalas, oppossum, etc. - those are marsupials. Say, that reminds me of a story - plenzmd1, you can tell this to Ambassador Wilson to 'break the ice'... This koala bear goes to see a prostitute and, after he finishes, he starts to leave without paying. The lady says, "Excuse me, Mr. Koala, you forgot to pay me." Koala feigns ignorance and says, "Huh? What do you mean?" Lady repeats, "You forgot to pay me. I'm a prostitute." Koala says, "I don't know what you mean." Lady pulls out a dictionary and shows the koala bear the entry for prostitute - pros·ti·tute (noun) - One who solicits payment for sex acts. So the koala says, "Oh, well, I'm a marsupial." Lady says, "What is that, and what does that have to do with anything?" Koala grabs the dictionary and shows her the entry - mar·su·pi·al (noun) - pouched mammal that eats bush and leaves. -
I love the California laws, Chef - as The Dean pointed out, there were plenty of 7 AM Sunday morning runs to the corner market to stock up on booze and wine for the 10 AM Bills kickoffs. Personally I am very much in favor of the proposal. I'd love to be able to make one stop at a Wegman's for groceries and wine, rather than multiple stops at multiple stores. Gov. Paterson also wanted the bill, as he saw a potential $100M+ in fees to allow grocery stores to sell wine, plus additional tax revenues as overall wine sales and consumption would increase. He even offered some concessions like allowing liquor stores to sell snacks, soda, etc. - believe it or not, they are not currently even allowed to sell corkscrews! Ultimately, the state legislature caved to a massive lobbying effort by the liquor store owners. Here's the 'small winery' position - Vintners, stores offer views on wine sale issue And here's how the small liquor store owners feel - Wine in Grocery Stores Proposal Is Killed

The man is a University of Toronto Kap - give him the secret Kappa Alpha handshake and ask him, "What's your sign?" Be sure to address him as "Adelphos" or by his astrological sign all evening. -
Tremendous lobby by the liquor stores ensured the bill would be DOA. As you know, most of those stores are small "Mom & Pop" businesses that would suffer greatly if large chains like Wegman's sold wine. Also, some of the smaller wineries were against it, fearing that larger supermarkets would stock large quantities the most popular and well-known wines (Mondavi, Gallo, Ravenswood, etc.) and almost none of the very fine but more obscure wines from NYS and other regions.

"Milk in bags - what's that all aboot?" -
I was willing to give Marshawn the benefit of the doubt, even to the point of lobbying for a reduced suspension, until he started parking his Porshe Cayenne on the lawn every night. Everyone else in the complex follows the rules and parks their cars in their driveway overnight - apparently Lynch thinks those rules don't apply to him, and I have a mind to inform Commissioner Goodell of our star RB's latest malfeasance! Harrumph!!!!!
