Trump just loves breaking the law: https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/4826806-end-citizens-united-fec-complaint-trump-musk-interview/amp/ The Donald Trump-Elon Musk campaign rally hosted on X wasn’t just an incoherent diatribe of lies marred by technical difficulties, it was a blatantly illegal corporate contribution to Donald Trump’s campaign,” End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller said in a statement. “This brazen corporate contribution undermines campaign finance laws and would set a dangerous precedent for unfettered, direct corporate engagement in campaigns. The FEC must investigate this corporate-funded campaign event and hold Trump, his campaign, and X Corp. accountable,” she added. The complaint notes that federal campaign finance law prohibits corporations from making contributions to federal candidates, who cannot accept the contributions. It said that the “conversation” between the former president and Musk “amounted to a virtual campaign event for Donald J. Trump financed by X.”

Trump 2024?
Backintheday544 replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The issue is enthusiasm. We've had 2 prior election cycles of Trump. 2016 Trump was selling out arenas on a daily basis. 2020 COVID Trump was not as much but still selling out. Now in a battle ground state his campaign felt it couldn’t fill a 7000 person arena and opted for the smaller one. Trumps campaign strategy shifted a lot so far this campaign compared to rest. Is it lack on enthusiasm? Is this just a new strategy since the old strategy lost last time? Maybe people the enthusiasm is there and people don’t want to show up with all those weird people? As you pointed out Dems don’t need to sell out arenas for rallies to win. That didn’t even used to be a thing until Trump. It’s not their out reach strategy. -

lol: https://www.newsweek.com/trump-campaign-forced-pay-north-carolina-city-82k-advance-rally-1938769 The Trump campaign booked the smaller of two venues at the same complex in downtown Asheville for Wednesday's rally. The Thomas Wolfe Auditorium has a capacity of just 2,431 people, while a larger arena next door that is not hosting Trump has a capacity of 7,200. - This is not Trump of 2016 or 2020. Guy thinks he can’t get 5,000 more people in Asheville, NC?!?!? NC is in play! -
We can agree sex was has on/with the couch. In the end it doesn’t matter what you or I think here. It’s swaying undecided voters. This is just marketing and it’s working. “Presented with a list of options to describe Vance in August, the most common answers were “conservative,” “anti-woman,” and “weird,” while more positive options like “young,” “smart,” and “businessman” declined from July. The percentage calling him “extreme” shot up 13 points.” https://www.semafor.com/article/08/12/2024/poll-democratic-attacks-on-jd-vance-are-working The last election was decided by 20,000 people. Maybe it’s high school, but like Bowling for Soup says, High School Never Ends. If 20,000 undecided people go into an election booth and say I don’t want to vote or be associated with the weird guy, then the attack worked. Second, it’s a way to get the base more likely to vote. 2016 Trumps Memes were great and showed and helped energize a base. 2016 Trumps election was a viral campaign. By being part of the discord, you give people a sense of ownership in the election. Instead of volunteering time to canvas, people can spread memes from their phone. This makes people more likely to vote. (See things like Vote for Rory). This helps turn out low propensity voters. Third, ok so JD Vance having sex with a couch may not be true. So what. Trump said Dems are pro-after birth abortion. That’s not true. Trump literally lies non-stop and I don’t see anyone on your side of the aisle complaining.

Mitch laid out some policies for Harris that sound amazing!!! https://newrepublic.com/post/184816/kamala-harris-tim-walz-supreme-court-filibuster-policy “Let’s assume our worst nightmare—the Democrats went to the White House, the House, the Senate,” McConnell said during his keynote speech at the National Conference of State Legislators Legislative Summit last week, according to Spectrum News. “The first thing they’ll do is get rid of the [Senate] filibuster. Second, you’ll have two new states: D.C., Puerto Rico. That’s four new Democratic senators in perpetuity.”

Another election fraudster found guilty: https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/national-international/tina-peters-colorado-clerk-election-denier-convicted-computer-breach/3391023/ Peters was convicted of three counts of attempting to influence a public servant, one count of conspiracy to commit criminal impersonation, first-degree official misconduct, violation of duty and failing to comply with the secretary of state. Peters, a one-time hero to election deniers, was accused of using someone else’s security badge to give an expert affiliated with My Pillow chief executive Mike Lindell access to the Mesa County election system and deceiving other officials about that person's identity.

We don’t really know Trumps stance. He says he wants states to decide, but is open to a Federal ban on an abortion pill: https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/trump-signals-openness-banning-abortion-pill-rcna165957 At one point he supported a national abortion ban but back tracked. What makes you think he won t change his mind again, he likes to flip flop: https://rollcall.com/2024/04/08/trump-supports-ivf-backtracks-on-national-abortion-ban/ Trump also believes there are after birth abortions. So he’s a bit demented on the subject https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna159460 Plus while Trump has his positions, he’s been known to cave to Heritage Group and in his first year as President enacted 2/3rds of their policy recommendations: https://www.heritage.org/impact/trump-administration-embraces-heritage-foundation-policy-recommendations

- Federal amendment to protect abortion - federal protections for ivf - expanding the child tax credit The cool thing about Kamala rallies is she’s not 80 years old so she does not go on dementia rants and think Hannibal Lecter is real. Its nice you want her to do that and if her not doing that changes your vote than I’m sure no one will care. Right now Kamala doesn’t need to be aggressive in her campaign. She just has to look at the current scoreboard:

Or anywhere. This an issue for the American people. Elon probably should have brought it up. He already said Trump is too old. When he was slurring Elon should have asked, I’ve already said you’re too old to be President, now you’re slurring and sounding like a drunk Daffy Duck, Mr. ex-President, have. You recently had a stroke?
-
Makes sense why he disappeared for a bit and is basically having JD Vance do all the campaigning. We’ve seen two election cycles of Trump now and this is the lowest energy of them all. He did more events in the middle of a global pandemic. Stroke seems most likely. America needs answers. Kamala should request he release medical records to prove he didn’t have a stroke.

Vance campaign promised to call people liars who are. Have not called anyone liars about the couch. now this drops.

No Dems are freaking out. Actually today was an awesome day so far: - republicans pull out of the Ohio Senate Race - 538 avgs update and have Harris winning. - Bullfinch polls come out showing Harris with big leads in the 3 states she needs - poll out that Harris is making Maine 2nd district competitive - Harris now 51/46 over Trump on Polymarket - Harris now 59/44 over Trump on Predictit - Nate Silver now has Harris winning PA, MI and WI with his averaging (those 3 win Harris the election) - Harris just 0.8 down to Trump in PA once that turns, RCP has Harris winning Overall, Harris is dominating. I think as each new poll comes out, the best part is the lead keeps increasing. So we haven’t seen her plateaued yet in the polls. We haven’t even seen her convention bump yet!!! Trump has 1 scheduled rally up ahead. The campaign is low energy and enthusiasm is dropping. So no. I’m not freaking out. None of my Dem friends are freaking out. No one on this board is freaking out. Jubilation may be a good word for how Dems are. Crap…. Forgot this news too and great way of Kamala to own Trump yet again: -

I almost feel sorry for you when your little reality bubble pops as you watch Kamala get sworn in. While you watch that just remember that we all warned you it would happen here. FiveThirtyEight polling averages as of 8/12: National: Harris + 2.7 Pennsylvania: Harris + 1.6 Michigan: Harris + 3.3 Wisconsin: Harris + 3.2 Arizona: Harris + 0.4 Georgia: Tied -

Interesting new poll if you’re in team tie. Either way great for Kamala to close these margins. Looking like this could be a blow out.
