Travis has not had a years salary taken from him, contracts have a formula by which a player placed on injured /reserved get a percentage of there contract based on years service. In Travis case his contract was $380,ooo which was to be paid in 17 segments. Contracts are signed with a two-tier feature to protect teams and injured players. Being put on injured reserve he will be paid somewhere around $$200,000. Peoples character is most noted on how they treat the perceived small not how they treat those they fear or consider important, make no mistake that organizations who have straight forward relationship even if the truth hurts largely speaking are going to be more successful. I would like to give Mr. Donahoe a chance to respond before hanging him on this mistakes and things happen. Players being cut does happen every day, but players being cut or put of reserve as in Travis's case after him being told he is on the roster does not happen every day. The very least he could and should have been told before the media and announcement of cuts was made. From outside it seems like a simple matter that was not taken care of and if ones does not take care of the small what large things are not taken care of. I hope Mr. Donahoe has an answer or apology for Travis. Because Travis is perceived by some as not important does not mean he should not be delt with in a straight forward manner

Yes absolutely Bills have had some very nice free agent signings during Mr.Donahoe's tenure, but one has to wonder what ones have been lost and will be lost if there is not a bases of trust between player , agent and him. Stating the obvious if the team dynamic is also one of mistrust of management hardly can that be a ingredient for success with everyone on the same page Things change hopefully Mr. Donahoe can address this issue where this was a unfortunate circumstance as opposed to a lie, as alluded previously the very least there was a lack of communication with Travis Brown hopefully that will change.. The How Bills do things matters... to me anyway

It will be interesting to see if and how Mr. Donahoe addresses this in the coming days, he is going to need do some fence mending. He has largely been a man to be respected in his time here but it is true a number of players have left the team in less than desirable way , if the trust factor is not there it will be very difficult to impress free agents to make Buffalo a place to come.and just cant go over well with the current players.

Here is a article that explains the formula they use to pay a player on the injured list its says they do not pay entire salary but percentage based on years service a rookie for instance getting about half of salary . In Travis Brown case he signed a one year contract for $380,000 and by formula it looks like he would be paid about $200,000 article here. Injured salary

They may do well to give him a look, last season he was backup pro bowl at his position, reading articles about him losing job to younger player he handled it with class, all the comments about him very positive, him acknowledging he is lost a bit since he started and is small by todays standards but feels he has succeeded because of his smarts and had no problem being backup and helping coach and help the younger players. He seems like a guy who would fit in very well and be a upgrade, cant see why not a look -
•Buffalo released LB Jason Gildon and placed quarterback Travis Brown on injured reserve. Brown also sat out the entire 2003 season with an injury. Gildon, who holds the Pittsburgh Steelers' record with 77 sacks, was cut six weeks after the Bills signed the 10-year veteran in hopes of bolstering their pass rush. Brown was angry about being deactivated for the season. Earlier, the Bills announced Brown was expected to miss four to six weeks. Team president Tom Donahoe said Aug. 30 that Brown's return could even come sooner, adding that the team was going to keep him on the active roster. "When you tell me something and you repeatedly tell me something, and then totally come out of left field with something else, I just don't think that's the way you should do business," Brown said Brown Angry Scroll down for Brown comments More

Microsoft in china The threats underscore the stubborn obstacles to foreign competition in the vast, largely untapped market of 1.25 billion Chinese. Despite efforts in China to liberalize trade by lowering tariffs and allowing more foreign investment, suspicion of outside influence remains high, and the government is not averse to intervening in business markets against what it sees as risky foreign dominance. In the instance of Microsoft, the government says it's backing an upstart rival to the company's Windows software program, which runs the vast majority of the world's personal computers. The fledgling software competitor--Linux-- -

Its just has to be tough for a number of men tonight, From young boys playing Pop Warner , High School Football, College , excelling all along the way , year after year of doing laps, weight training, perhaps not taking job offers and opportunities to travel, dreaming the dream of one day being a pro football player and all along the way folks telling you can , fighting to believe in yourself because you are like millions the nation over only to get a phone call tomorrow saying, thank you for the effort but we are going in a different direction . To have your shot to fail and hurt about it and move on from a life time dream and to have been so close…….. got feel for many guys tomorrow , nothig rips like being so close and yet so far...

If you are into golf take a read of this , he was a most interesting character would have been the best golfer in North America in his era but he never wanted to just fit in. Once, on the first hole of a practice round - a 230-yard par-3 - media members assembled around Norman began teasing him about his putting. Moe promptly pulled a club out of his bag, smacked the ball, then turned to the reporters and announced, ``I'm not putting today.'' The ball went in for a hole-in-one. Moe Norman

The coming lockout is not good news, but perhaps one positive will be some very excellent college programs will get more attention and folks simply going out to local arena’s and seeing the local young men playing ( and young ladies , yikes) . So many fine folk just because they love the game and care much for the communities they live in spend their precious free time coaching and helping at local arena’s perhaps folks will take the time to see the efforts and show some attention and appreciation. -
Chargers trying to trade Flutie to Buffalo
millbank replied to Black ICE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The No. 3 quarterback, veteran Doug Flutie, appears poised to make the roster. There were rumors that the Chargers would release or trade him, and that he could land with Buffalo or New England. "Absolutely not," Schottenheimer said. "Not an iota of truth. I find it kind of amusing, to be very honest." Doug Flutie -

It seemed at first many were making him Bills starting running back far to quickly and now many seem to be giving up on him far to soon, there just is no way of knowing yet. The backs who have shown more behind Willis are running for their football careers to make the team, Willis was running to learn systems and schemes knowing he has made the team with a coaching staff patient about him improving. We just need wait and see him in the real action and a perhaps by midway through the season. I does have to be tough for the two behind him though who to this point have been better one of which likely wont make team. -
