"Time Is on My Side" is a song written by Jerry Ragovoy (using the pseudonym "Norman Meade"). First recorded by jazz trombonist Kai Winding and his orchestra in 1963, it was covered (with additional lyrics by Jimmy Norman) by both soul singer Irma Thomas and the Rolling Stones in 1964.

    You win ? ?

  2. How this would surprise anyone would be a surprise. It has been the Damocles sword hanging over the season from the get go.

Fauci is one of the brightest medical minds in our nation, he is smart enough and honest enough to go with the best information available concerning Covid-19, he doesn’t lie, and has been a breath of fresh air on the national front unlike others.

I think this points up what makes McDermott so unusual. He refuses to approach any challenge from the point of view that it's impossible. Seems silly, I know, but that's who he is and who he wants his players to be. Whatever rules the league hands down, whatever the schedule is going look like, whatever day he had to play on, none of it deters McDermott. His response is always the same: "Okay, let's get to work."

Put another way, McDermott sees absolutely no value in complaining. Every minute spend complaining is time lost. While Harbaugh is complaining, McDermott is working.

I do like your take ?

McDermott is on his second OC and STC going into his fourth season.  In addition, most of the position coaches have turned over.  Further, McD himself is still learning how to be a HC.  Is he really the best person to determine who will be a good coach?

With his coaching experience? The answer is yes, he is one of the best.
Who is the “best”? kinda vague description with lots of valid answers. Just sayin,

It's all been all on Allen, from the beginning.

This is also the last season it's going to be all on Allen.

All excuses end this year, if there is a "this year."

This is only true to an extent, 30 plus drops by the receivers group two years in a row, is not on the QB, nor is the fruitless game play put up by Gore for a large part of the season.   As well as the O line breakdowns throughout the season.  Does our QB need to make advances in his directorship of the offense?  The answer is unequivocally yes,  but if our receivers group drops another 30 plus passes for a third consecutive season ... I think you get my point. All aspects of what makes up the offense need to be better if we are to score an average of one TD per quarter, that’s the type of performance that it will take to win the division and more. Make no mistake about it, teams are gonna be coming for us this season, because they know they have to. Everyone has to be better than their performances of last season. That’s just how I see it.

When was the last time we debated about so many quality players that might get moved?  Its been a while.
BB will turn them into future trade / draft capital.

He put better passing numbers with absolute garbage than Josh Allen did.  I do find it interesting what the reaction if Mahomes did this.  Honestly, it would be similar.  All these “patriots” got fired up by a creature that did everything he could to get out of serving the country.

the funniest thing is he did this for a couple of games before it became a deal.  Then he talked to a marine (you know a real patriot) and went to a knee because it was more respectful.  CK has contributed a lot more to this country in charity work than a lot of the “patriots” who criticize him who best life accomplishment is they happen to be born in America instead of another country.

CK is far from perfect but if the NFL handled this right in the first place, this issue would probably be over.  And save the garbage that he isn’t good enough when you got scrubs like Barkley, Peterman, Drew Stanton, Jeff drieskel, etc on nfl rosters.

Oh no!!! The NFL will lose it’s racist fanbase!!!

    Such a shame right...

If the NFL is trying to commit suicide it's going down the right path.

I think you’re confused, the league by siding with the national sentiment on this issue has already told the racist fans to go pound sand. Demographics show that the real money is with the near seventy percent of Americans that they have sided with. Although late in coming the league is now on the right side of history, and has done the right thing.

  9.

The leagues apologizes are frankly a day late and a dollar short as it were. The owners ganged up on him ended his career, and kicked him while he was down. It was an act of blatant racism.

If he plays again of his and some teams choice it will be bitter sweet at best, joining the league office may be more likely than playing, I certainly don’t know what he wants as a human being. I think he likely has mixed feelings about a return.

I put this in the "players test positive" thread but seems appropriate here

Research on the accuracy of saliva-based tests has been available since the end of April from a Yale study:

    https://www.webmd.com/lung/news/20200427/saliva-covid-test-alternative-to-deep-nasal-swab#1

Approval to run diagnostic tests for a contagious disease is a bit more involved than a medical device and a lab tech, and it really needs to be that way.  The lab needs to have infectious disease protocols and containment systems for OPIM (other potential infectious materials).  They need to have appropriate oversight and quality control, and biowaste containment/protocols.  A little thought can lead to understanding why.

I don't know how big a deal is being made of approving labs to run infectious disease samples such as for covid-19 right now.  BU, for example, is setting up their own covid-19 test center but they've been working on it for several months.

Note that POC test machines are an exception, but these are typically lower throughput and some have been found to be of limited accuracy.

    As far as "not positive on a daily basis renders social distancing and mask moot", please bear in mind that all clinical tests have a false negative rate, including the RT-PCR test for covid-19 (false positives are rare for this test and usually reflect laboratory error).  Some clinicians believe the false-negative rate may be as high as 30%, due most probably to low titer in the upper airway because the active disease is elsewhere, or to improper sample collection or storage;

It would take only one guy to slip through the cracks so to speak.

Consider with all the players, coaches and complimentary staff at a facility, plus everyone going home to their families daily, and all the potential contact all those people have with other people during  the normal course of everyones daily life, there is a good chance that with the 30% odds of a false negative that a team could have several players get infected during a three day window between tests. It would create quite the problem for a team.

You’re right, Its not so cut and dry, as is said.

I can’t remember just know, but I think that someone or another suggested that college seniors would get another year of eligibility.

The real truth is that a lot of college football players better stay and get their degree because a bunch of them aren’t gonna be pro football players because of this. The league however will survive even if it takes a couple of years to have the dust fully settle as it were.

OP is predicting "A" performances by WRs with a "C" QB?

    "W' "T" "F"?

Curious perception for sure, like what was said earlier up post, from week 5 thru 17 Josh had 21 TDs to three interceptions, is that a C?  does Josh need to tighten up his game? Yes, everyone including Josh knows this.  I agree, the receivers aren’t getting an A if Josh is getting a C.
