It really does, but that’s why I think this is about teams not wanting to deal with Deion. You’d think Sanders would have intrigued a QB hungry team to reach for him. That typically happens every draft. Anyone who watched Sanders play could easily see how he might appeal to a desperate team.

To be fair, in today’s world many pro athletes are born and raised with this goal in mind the entire time. These guys lived a different life than the average Joe. It’s not the way it was many years ago. You see this across the board in every major sport.

I don’t think it will work either. In this era of NIL and transfers, NC didn’t have a very impressive off season. It’s not as if players seem to be jumping at the chance to play for Belichick. He’s just running a mediocre college program at this point. Compare this to Sanders at Colorado where he was immediately able to bring in a bunch of play makers. I’m not sure what Belichick has done that’s exciting.

I don’t want to be the Shadeur Sanders fanboy, but it’s crazy scouts think Cam Ward is that much better. If Sanders is going this low, there’s no way Ward should have been number one.

Absolutely, it’s like people forget the average NFL player is twenty something. I don’t see many NFL coaches who fit my definition for “leader of men”. I’m also aware that old school definition isn’t what you get these days with that generation of players. Belichick is a great example. There’s nothing about him that would make me respect him as a leader, but I’d respect his football knowledge. I think that’s what matters these days.

Yeah, this reminds me of the McD articles. It seems like a smear campaign, and many of us just want to believe it. This board is very intrigued by McDaniel for some reason. I think he’s a good coach, but Miami will never be good enough with Josh Allen in the division regardless. You’d think Bills fans would understand our current team has the ability to make opponents look bad. Miami just wants to chase him out because the city/fanbase believe they should be competing for titles.

I’m sure he works hard, as it takes a lot to be a pro athlete. I don’t want to dismiss that, but he’s another vet QB who’s just collecting a check at this point. You can’t blame him for taking the money as long as someone wants him. These guys are like the nostalgia bands of athletes.

That’s very interesting, and something I never realized. I think this is ultimately a Taylor Swift conversation at the end of the day though. I can’t think of anyone else the Buffalo market is missing out on. It’s not like the 70’s when you could fill the stadium all summer with popular acts. Only a few classic rockers, pop stars, and country singers play stadiums. The current country stars who are stadium acts will play anywhere, and the classic rock stadium acts have very short tours at this stage of their career.

I agree, but I’m assuming we’ll outscore opponents again this season. Josh Allen is the ultimate cheat code. I think having better DL play would be huge in the playoffs. I agree, I want better DL play all season, but I’d rather these guys miss the first six games, rather than being unavailable during the playoffs. I just don’t see the suspension of these guys derailing our season.

I’ve always thought that we perform quite well against contenders in the regular season. We didn’t have Hoecht or Obunjobi the past few seasons, and did just fine against good opponents. I see the moves being something we hope pays off against KC in the playoffs. I also think anyone who’s worried about these suspensions are vastly overrating both of these players.

No, I never saw the “it factor” in Manuel, but some people did, including Whaley 😆 . I supposed it’s all a matter of how we perceive things. I think many of us saw something special in Allen from the start, I know I did. Maye gives off some of the same entitled frat boy vibes that I got from Mac Jones. I don’t see that in most successful NFL QB’s.

I know the physical attributes are different, but Maye’s personality/look reminds me a lot of Mac Jones. I don’t see the “it factor” in Maye that makes me believe he’ll be an elite QB.

AI needs perfected to better understand humans. Josh Allen is never going to retire halfway through the season. I don’t think a star QB has ever done so, and he’d be the last guy to pull that stunt.

McDermott is just bitter his team can’t figure how to run the play with a beast at QB.

I was honestly just thinking more like being able to find anywhere open on Sunday. That’s was tough to find a few decades ago. Park City would have never been a tourist draw in 70’s Utah the way it is today. 😆

I have a few friends with deep Utah roots. They’ve all told me the liquor laws are strange, but years ago it was much more difficult to even find alcohol in most of Utah. The west coast hipsters, and skiers have changed what the state has to offer quite a bit.

The data for Erie County is definitely accurate from my experiences. Drinking is part of the Midwest culture, and this map shows it. I suspect this data is from a self reported survey. I see low numbers in places where it’s less socially acceptable, but from my observation plenty of binge drinking still occurs in many of those places. Just go to a country concert in Knoxville.

I absolutely agree with you, I’m just not sure if I want to find out this season with Keon Coleman or Josh Palmer as our best outside receiver.

You’re correct, Davis can do all of those things, but he’s a really good RB2 at this point. Cook is an elite offensive weapon, I don’t feel the same about Davis, although he is a talented player. I respect if you view Davis and Cook as equals, but I would disagree with that assessment. I generally agree about running backs. Davis would be just fine with an elite QB like Allen. However, I’d obviously rather have Davis and Cook. I find this position of the utmost importance to us, because I don’t like our receiving group much.

I understand that 15 million is too much for Cook, but this offense is in trouble without him. Fans become passionate about players who ask for too much money, but many of us are underestimating Cook’s value to this team. We have a roster without a legitimate outside receiver, and Cook was a force last season. This offense might struggle to function at a high level without Cook. I’m not saying we should pay him, but the loss of Cook would be concerning.
