Excellent analysis. The biggest surprise for me was the selection of Fromm. After thinking about this, it makes sense to me given Barkley's inconsistency. I have also wondered if this was a preemptive move by Beane to deny him to the Cheatriots. NE didn't draft a QB but moved quickly to sign an UDFA . Belicheat also stated that not drafting a QB was not part of their plan. Did Beane beat him to the pick? We'll probably never know.

Um, nah I think Williams is competing for a starting job just like everyone else is outside of Morse and Dawkins.
You're welcome to your opinion but I believe the starting five are already a lock and the new additions are there to improve the depth. We'll see when the games count.

No it doesn’t.... they signed Darryl Williams. Fords position is up in the air. He is anywhere from on the bench to starting Guard/Tackle.
Williams is going to compete for a roster depth position.

Don't we need another OT? If Ford moves inside, the only backup is Nsekhe
I believe that this draft sends a clear signal that Ford will be playing right tackle this season. IMHO, it will take a complete meltdown by Ford before McD gives up on him.

For those who are apoplectic over Davis picked in the fourth round, I remember my negative over reaction to another fourth round WR pick. I was like...Andre who? What the h--- is a Kutztown State. You have to be sh---ing me. What kind of b---sh-- is this. Well I guess he showed me how wrong my initial perception was. My advice now is to chill out and see how it plays out. I trust Beane to do the right thing.

It would appear route running is his biggest weakness, which is great cause he will be sitting behind 3 great route runners, learning from them.
Exactly right. He played in what I thought was a pretty limited offense (I saw several of his games). He ran the routes that the plays called for. He played under control, was physical, and has very good hands. He gets off the line of scrimmage and down the field. He will be an upgrade of the WR depth but will need to be coached up.

Gandy-Golden or Simpson

I'm a little surprised that he was still there at 86 but I'm not complaining. He is a really tough runner. This is a pretty good pick. I expect Beane to make another move before the end of this round or at the beginning of round 4 at a minimum. He still has more picks than he has room on the roster.

Second round? Are you for real? Lol incredible
He was the 7th rated tackle and projected mid second round. Do the research and you'll see pick 18 was a stretch.

Listening to Beane, I got the impression he does not want to use his 3rd rounder as ammo in a trade up. That said, I do think he will spend a 4th or 5th to make a move in the 3rd. He's shown he gets itchy to move up in the mid rounds as you said
I think you're right about this. Not counting Diggs, I have had the impression that he is only looking to grab three guys with a serious chance to make the roster and contribute early. The rest would be developmental or high risk picks. If that is accurate, picks 2,3,and 4 are important unless he can package 4 with 5 and/or 6 to get to the end of round three or top of round 4. After sitting through round one and watching some good talent slide down the board, Beane probably can't wait to get some action. I guess I find it hard to wait also.

Bring back Shady? I like it.
Bring back Gore, too, to back him up.
Maybe bring in Bronco Nagurski, too. Good short yardage guy.
I think OJ is available but that ankle tether might be a problem.

Gross-Matos
Baun
Epenesa
Diggs
Fulton
Chinn
Blacklock
Taylor
Dobbins
Mims
Pittman
Shenault
In that order for me.
Reasonable order. Any of these guys available at 54 would be a decent selection and improve the roster. I believe the RB's will be gone before the Bills pick. I think one of them will end up in Miami.

Great analysis! Certainly better than what we will hear all day from the talking heads on TV. Thanks, I appreciate your work on this.

Actually Miami pick was not a reach; would have been drafted much higher if he had not missed good portion of season because he donated bone marrow to his sister. Stupid, uninformed take.
The only thing uninformed on this board was your response. He was projected with a second round grade from multiple sources. You'll see it when they put on the pads.

Definitely a couple of reaches for CB in round one. Miami at #18 was also a reach for the tackle. It was also interesting that Dallas went for Lamb at #17 when their secondary seems to be a mess. I thought the Bama safety or T. Diggs made some sense for them. Although, Lamb was a good value for them at #17.

I gotta get me one of these....but it does need a bar.

It’s laughable reading reports from “insiders” right now. Teams aren’t telling these guys the truth. People act like teams are calling these guys saying hey we are picking this player so get the word out
You are exactly correct on this. When you go back and look at the rhetoric flying around previous drafts and compare it to what actually happened, you can't help but be skeptical about all of the reporters. Sportswriters are so desperate to generate clicks and readership that many of them will jump on a story without confirmation from a second source. Teams love it because it keeps competitors guessing and they hope that creates an advantage for them during the draft.

IMHO a trade or two is very likely. It is also not unusual that a couple of guys are lost to injuries before the season starts. What I take away from all of these posts is that Buffalo is in really good shape going into the draft and there are good options in most of the position groups. The fact that there is not a complete consensus on the roster locks means that there will be real competition at a number of positions. It should also be readily apparent to all of us that Beane has done a tremendous job of building the roster without destroying the cap. It is really nice to know that there is not a roster crisis that must be filled in the draft. Beane will be able to draft to improve the depth and to fill future needs. If one of the rookies beats out a starting veteran, then that is great too. This is how traditionally good teams enter the draft. We should all be pleased with this situation.

I don't believe that TE changes are even on Beane's radar. Howard would be an upgrade but I doubt that he is headed to Buffalo.

Not only that but rumor is they both started the coronavirus, killed JR and stole George’s raisins!!!!!
They also took out Jimmy Hoffa, faked the moon landing, and Bigfoot is their accomplice. Just sayin'

Coleman has had one or more knee injuries but played well when given the opportunity last season. There are already better FA options available plus some really good talent in the draft. Why give up draft picks when you don't have to? I'd rather use the extra draft picks to move up for a better prospect in the draft.

Maybe after the draft if the Bills don't get a WR they want. Otherwise, no need to consider him.

Best: Bruce Smith
Worst: Aaron Maybin
Morse better be careful, Dane Jackson is willing to play Center.

A friend of mine that is a Pitt grad and follows their football program told me similar things about Jackson today. He's a tough kid with excellent coverage skills and is not a head case. It all sounds like what we are beginning to expect from Beane's selections. I guess we'll see how it plays out in camp.
