If you don’t attended the game, I’d recommend going to Moondoggies to watch the game.  Hit the sports book at 7am place your bets (or get a betting app from one of the sports book and place your bets all throughout the day), go to Moondoggies by 9am to get a seat and watch games all day.  They won’t show any other games when the bills game is on and it’s going to be jam packed with bills fans, great bartenders, incredible food and the game day atmosphere you would expect at a great bills bar.

I’ll probably be there if I don’t feel like paying an arm and a leg for tickets.

Thanks for the advice.  Watching a game on the road with other Bills fans is always a good time.

Allen is average to mediocre tho, thats why so many of us are waiting to see if he can break out of that category in his 3rd season.

last season we were carried to 10 wins by our 2nd ranked defense, can't remember a single game where our offense and Allen took a choke hold of the game and willed us to victory.

We should all not forget that the overall receiving talent on the team was below average at best.  Diggs and some improvement by the TE position should change that.  Allen will probably make some improvement but whether it is enough to move the team significantly forward will be the real metric to watch.

I'm ok with it.  Have an opinion and justify it with some rationale.  He mentions his misses on his rankings from last year which is respectable.

I think his take on the Diggs trade is way off.  Tell us which one of the rookies that were available for the Bills to draft will be as good as or better than Stefon over the next 1, 2 or 4 years.  The additional picks were mostly house money anyways and were not of much consequence.

We have seen a trend where Beane likes to acquire extra draft capital and then use it to target the guys he believes in.  His hit rate has been way better than most and the Bills are in the mix because of it.

You're exactly correct.  Beane has shown the ability to be right more often than not.  King has been better than the average sportswriter over the years but that doesn't make his opinions more valid than Beane's judgement.  King creates these rankings as click bait and to remain relevant.  I accept them for what they are and move on.

  4. Most of these guys have exactly zero trade value unless a team gets hit by injuries and is desperate.  Beane has shown that he will be prepared and will move quickly if the opportunity is available.  There is a big shortage of decent o-linemen around the league and I expect at least one of them to get a chance elsewhere.  Wide receivers and running backs are widely available and I don't expect any team to make a trade when comparable players are currently free agents.

FBF, you’re name suggests you live in FL, and myself in Tampa.  I was born and raised in Buffalo, but moved to Tampa the week of the Bills/Giants SB.  I’ve been to every Bills/Bucs since 93, a ton of Bills/Miami games, and Bills/Jax games including the 17 playoff game.  It was awesome as the lower level was all Jags fans, but the entire upper deck was a sea of red, white, and royal blue.  Sucked that we lost, but that defense was impressive.

I've been to a bunch of the same games as you.  I always have a good time tipping a few with Bills fans pregame in the parking lot.  Bills fans really know how to tailgate.

  6. This is a fairly innovative idea.  Appears to be an attempt to revive revenue and keep the fans involved.  I believe the benefit will be limited.  Attendance at Miami home games is usually heavily dependent on visiting teams fans.  It's not just a phenomenon when the Bills play there.  I've seen other teams play there (free tickets...lol).  I wouldn't expect road team fans to make the trip to watch the game in a drive in movie style setting.  If teams can doing these kinds of things profitably and entertain their fans, it will help the league get through these difficult times.  I hope that by September, none of these things will be necessary.

  7. I'm not sold on the Cowgirls at five.  Their secondary will need to play much better for them to have a good season.  The O-line isn't the dominating force that it used to be.  Losing their center will negatively impact the group's performance.  I'm not even sure that they are better than Philly in what is a weak division.

People shouldn't disregard the Steelers.  They have a good defense and are getting their QB back from injury.  Love him or hate him, Big Ben is the grease that makes that offense roll.  New England is probably on the list because of their past performance and people don't know what to expect.  They lost more than Brady and I expect them to struggle more on defense than they have in the past.

Trubisky and Thomas were overdrafted. Said that at the time. Fournette's issues are as much off field as on. The one I am genuinely really surprised hasn't been a success is Corey Davis. I had a really high grade on him and I have liked him when I have seen him play in the NFL too. Not really sure what the issue has been and he has been nicked up some. He is the kind of player who I would not be surprised to see go somewhere else and suddenly pop.

Davis was limited by poor QB play and a very run heavy offense. He has skills to be productive in the league.  I agree with you that he will go somewhere and excel.  If he becomes a free agent, he won't last on the market very long.  Some people compared him to Antonio Brown coming out of college.  I'm sure more than one GM has him on their radar.

As for the other guys, you are spot on for all of them.

  9. Having lived in a number of different NFL markets, I came to realize how lucky we Bills fans have been.  As others have noted above, Van Miller was great and a hard act to follow.  Some of these other markets have pathetic PBP guys and even worse color commentators.  Murph does a credible job.

I don’t think we ever saw that combo tbh.  Could be wrong

Nsekhe is a backup.  While he may be our best RT, he isn’t holding up playing RT full time.  He’s our backup swing.  Ford our RT.  Feliciano our RG.  Morse our center.  Daryl will compete with long for backup guard.

let’s just hope Feliciano and Ford keep improving.  Beane is all in with them for 2020

I think you are absolutely correct.  Good post.

I'm not impressed with his "manhood"

Neither am I.  This incident and the hit on Aaron Williams by Jarvis Landry should both have ended with some serious retaliation.  Teams think they can deliver cheap shots and get away with it.  It has been a long time since the Bills had a no nonsense bad a__ that would take on an idiot like Gronk.  For those that have played a contact sport in college or above, you know that intimidation can be a big part of a successful team.  The Bills have not had the reputation for being guys that won't take any crap for a long time.  What do you think the Steelers or Ravens would have done to good old Gronk?  Someone would have stomped his manhood into the turf.  It's too bad that the Bills didn't have a guy with the disposition of Ray Lewis to deal with Gronk on that day.

For me, threads like this one are a complete waste.  I'm not enamored by Brady, Gronk, or any of the Cheatriots.  I would enjoy a thread someday that deals with them getting what they have had coming to them for a long time.

I feel like these are actually two positions where a true starter won’t exist. Maybe more snaps, but I think we’ll see that fluctuate over the course of the season. Now, ask me about RT or CB2... those are the real position battles.

Now that you ask, who do you think will start at RT and CB2?  I still believe it will be Ford and Wallace respectively but that is just the opinion of a bored quarantined Bills fan.

I live in NYC and have been going to the Bills/Jets games in the Meadowlands almost every year since the 90s. I'll agree with you that the average Jets fan isn't as knowledgeable as the average Bills fan (about their team---as we are about ours, or football in general), and there is obviously no fan base that compares to Buffalo's in my opinion. But you say...

"fans are aggressive and mouthy until the wheels come off" First of all, that sounds like most fans. Also, New Yorkers just have a very direct (sometimes loud) way of interacting that some may feel aggressive and off putting at first, if you're not used to it, but it's just how people have learned to interact in the City. They are not as obnoxious as they may first appear to someone from the outside. They're good folks.

"That's when they switch over to blaming the refs and making other excuses."  I don't know, that sounds like you're talking about Bills fans (myself included), or fans of any team that has been bad for a while, or doesn't get the love from the league/media/refs (like the Bills and Jets). We're actually not that unalike in what we have suffered through. I have actually bonded with tons of Jets fans over our mutual hatred of the Patriots. Plus, the Jets fans are as loyal to their team through all of the hard times as Bills fans have been, probably due to the Jets being the more blue-collar, younger brother to the Giants. It's like a badge of honor/pride for them. Most of the Giants fans come from New Jersey, Long Island, upstate New York, Connecticut, and even Pennsylvania. Jets fans mostly come from New York City. The Jets are not a regional team like the Patriots and Giants, they are the New York City team. Their fans understand hard work, they understand disappointment, they understand being overlooked (not unlike our fanbase---they maybe just express it a bit differently?).

But, honestly, I have never had a bad experience with Jets fans in almost 25 years...and believe me, I go to the games in full Bills regalia and cheer loudly. There is always a lot of good-natured taunting and ribbing (you just have to give it back to them without any anger or aggressiveness behind it); and even when the Jets lose, I've never had an issue with any of them. It's always kind of, "we're still better even though we didn't win this one," "good game...we'll get you next time," or "Bills suck." And you just laugh it off.

And speaking of leaving in the 4th quarter...you think getting out of the parking lots at New Era field is bad? Try taking public transportation in the largest city in the country to and from the game with 70,000 other people at the exact same time. I do it every time I go and I'm telling you, it's not pretty, and it's a long time before you are getting home. Longer than getting out of the New Era parking lots and driving back to Rochester. I still don't leave in the 4th quarter, but I can understand why people do if they think the outcome is decided.

Maybe your experience was different and you had some jerks ruin it for you (every fanbase has some of those), but I definitely wouldn't paint all Jets fans in a bad light. Sure it is a different experience than a lot of other venues, because New York City is a very different place than a lot of other NFL cities. But Jets fans have always been cool with me.

My experience with Jest's fans has been formed over multiple years.  I'm glad you found some nice people but my experiences have not been like that at all.

  14. If you've ever been to New York and attended a Jest's game, you'll relate to my comments.  A high percentage of their fans are aggressive and mouthy until the wheels come off and defeat is in the air.  That's when they switch over to blaming the refs and making other excuses.  Many of them leave the stadium before the fourth quarter. Many of  them know little about the game in general, little about the rules, and little about the talent or lack thereof on the Jests.  They are a really sad group of fans in general.  For other stadiums that I have attended in recent years,  I contrast them to Giants, Steelers, Packers, Colts, Titans, Tampa, Falcons and Jaguars fans that are not like them at all.  As a result, anything coming from the Jests has no credibility from my point of view.  The media seems to hype them at the start of every season (probably due to the importance of the large market) but usually by week 5 or 6, they've all crawled back into their hole.  We should all be used to this media behavior and continue to disregard it.  After all, the only thing of real importance is the game results.

  15. Living in Florida where things have started opening, the situation seems to be changing quickly.  People are still being careful, wearing masks in confined areas, maintaining distances, and just being smart.  The number of people out and about is increasing very quickly.  If things continue to move in that direction, some semblance of normality will exist in more places by September.  I don't know if all of that is good or bad but our human nature to be out, active and in a routine seems to be pushing things in that direction.  Even if the parking lots are not officially open, people will find other places to gather to enjoy their game day experience with other fans.

This is where I’m at. I think that Singletary will get about 70% of the snaps but that may be a little high. Epenesa will be in the regular DE rotation as well. Those 2 positions, along with DT, the Bills don’t really have starters and backups. They play a rotation. Those 2 players will be in the rotation.

I believe that Bass wins the kicker job.

As a little bit of an off-the-radar guess it’s possible (not likely) that Trey Adams wins the RT job.

I see things the same way.  Adams has a lot of potential and a chance, if he has fully recovered from his back injury.

I remember it well, sort of. Was in the stands at Rich stadium as it was called at the time. Left for the bathroom as the Broncos were lining up for the field goal that was blocked and returned. Ended up missing most of the scoring.

That blocked field goal and the return is what made me realize how good Biscuit was going to be for the Bills.  I was at the game.  I remember having a good time in the parking lot after the game.  People were pumped.

Football players in the NFL are the best of the best as are the coaches.

Offenses today are more complex and evolved than ever before. Offenses attack defenses with speed , vertically and horizontally to stretch defenses

3-4 WR sets to attack weaknesses at CB or LBr

There are lots of advantages to the offense

Sean has combatted this by creating a scheme based on gap integrity , complex coverages in the secondary and timely blitzes

I have 2 diagrams that show how Sean will confuse offenses pre and post snap and get QBs to hold the ball longer or panic and get rid of it too soon

Nice thread but I always thought it was more about the tequila McD had put in the visiting team's Gatorade.
