  1. This is going to be Diggs so folks should get used to it. I have seen this type of player before and they all were fantastic players who could ball better than most, but they want to win so badly they have almost a bi-polar reaction to losing. He wears his emotions on his sleeve and just is not going to go through the motions of acting professional about losing. I don't know if I ever want him to be OK with losing, but the maturity of how to handle games where he is schemed out of the offense will come over time. I think if teams took him away and we managed to win using other guys Diggs would still be ok with that, but losing on top of not having a lot of action is not a good recipe for him. We have gone up against two teams that absolutely smothered the mid-to-deep routes and did not fear our running game enough to come out of that defense. Like the Titan's, KC showed men in the box or in press on early downs then dropped everyone back to a soft shell zone. It has been a recipe that has taken Diggs out of much of the games, add to that the crappy conditions for passing today and you have a very frustrated receiver. He will snap back, but I don't think he is the kind of guy you hang out with after a loss. It is up to Daboll to figure out how to feed him the ball more and get the right personnel on the offensive line who can run block worth a crap.
  2. Honestly, this is the point in our schedule where I thought we would be dropping some games; I felt we had too much defensive turnover and were going to miss those guys. The early injuries to Milano and Edmunds only sealed those thoughts. But I admit that the fast start sucked me in. The problems with the defense were still there, but I was less concerned because our offense was able to score quickly and often to mask those defensive issues because we could force teams to be more one dimensional and give up on the run. Now defenses have figured out how to frustrate Daboll's schemes and Allen was not sharp and may be playing injured as well so the fast starts on offense have not been there. Either way we are fortunate not to have been blown out as both sides of the ball have been exposed badly. Our D where it is weakest against the run and on 3rd down tendencies, ergo we cannot get off the field, and our offenses inability to run-block and Allen's performance against that shell zone coverage that takes away that mid-to-deep area that Allen is most comfortable working. I saw some guys on the defense and offense step up to play in the 4th, but it was a bit too little too late to really turn around a game where they gave up about 250 yards on the ground and cover for the offensive misfires. The consistency of complimentary football is not there yet ( a misfire to Beasley, a complete botch of blocking on a 3rd and 1 for Moss, and on the flip side two drive stop failures when our punting team had pinned KC back into their own zone yet the defense allowed them to march down the field to get 2 scores - FG and TD). Not the end, but McD is going to have his hands full as he and this team are at a tipping point. Either they figure some things out, or you are going to have a multi-game slide on your hands with some volatile players in the mix. This is usually a disciplined team and most telling sign is when defensive leaders in the secondary show their frustration with the front line guys by tossing KC players into the benches late - you normally don't see that from White or Hyde. It is a bad sign when offensive or defensive units start to fracture a bit and the fingers begin to point, but the Jets are a temporary cure. If they get beat by that team then McD has lost the room and needs to find a way to get it back.
  3. Chiefs try to run on a real defense with a d-line and they are going to get punched in the mouth. Frazier has not figured out how to force a 3 and out enough... I still think we drop into too many passive zone looks. That would make sense if we had a d-line that could get to a QB and bring him down with 4-men, but we don't. The net effect is every QB on 3rd down is able to scramble around, buy time and complete passes or run for the 1st.
  4. There goes 10 second run-off...
  5. Diggs is an emotional player, but needs to just suck it up.... we will get back to winning. Not this game, but man-up and take the medicine.
  6. Diggs was jogging to the line.
  7. The d-line has found their nasty, but we need a spy on Mahomes and Frazier keeps going into a week zone with 4 man rush... boggles the mind a bit.
  8. Yeah, let's blame Josh that the KC offense was able to march down from their 15 to our 15. They have to get off the field on 3rd down...
  9. Rub play big time... that guy came free because Kelsey completely rubbed our coverage guy out. That was as deliberate offensive pass interference as it gets, but NE made a living out of it and they don't call it.
  10. Kelsy catch and no one over there and you see that it was Taron's area Shocker.
  11. I think this is still KC's ball, but that is the way you strip a ball. You stand the guy up and then let your teammates rip at the ball.
  12. Allen is going to see that disguised shell zone coverage a lot... no need to panic. He will get there in regards to figuring out where the weak points to attack are. Maybe not this game, but we are just a few key pieces away this year.... guard and DL and a strong CB and we could have a pretty dominant team. Hard for an offense when their D cannot get off the field and is getting owned by the other team's running game. Need chances
  13. You can also lens that as their defense is able to get 3 and outs and ours largely is getting gashed over and over by the same running play so they are keeping KC in the game too.
  14. That d-line is such a liability right now.... it is making everyone play out of position and our defensive leaders are starting to make stupid frustration penalties.
  15. Our d-line does not play on their side of the line so it is always a positive run... 3-7 yards
  16. C'mon McD... get some control over these guys.
  17. Just stop trying to strip the ball and tackle the RB....
  18. It's Allen's fault that Ford let a guy come in unblocked to blow up our 1 yard run play?
  19. Cody Ford having to sit out a bit. I hope he is OK, but he blew that run block and lets see what the next man up can do.
  20. missed tackles and broken arm tackles letting a QB stop near the sideline and turn back in for 5 more yards - lack of finish consistently getting blown off the LOS on the left side - lack of quality DL play there is definitely pieces missing there. Beane has some work to do to better shore up this defense.
  21. All on that left side again and again
  22. Soft like butter up the middle
