Nope. As soon as I saw that Tower of Power standing tall and fearless in the pocket in Wyoming, Allen became my man crush.

That's how I felt initially when I first saw the Allen highlights, but then I kept feeding into all the expert crap on him being too inaccurate + this and that.

  2. Come on. Half y'all wanted Rosen. Fess up!

It drives me crazy when I see someone on TV or on the radio say that after his 1st 2 seasons Josh was headed towards the bust column (Cowherd is among the worst of them) because they looked at stats totally out of context.  Those of us who rely on watching games without a stat sheet could see the special things he is capable of doing.  Now in all fairness to those skeptics, he did have a rough 2nd season throwing the (low % for just about every NFL QB) deep passes but that was in part due to the fact he kept throwing the low % throws.  I remember before Diggs arrived I'd be watching some of the top QBs be bailed out because they had a true #1 WR to throw to & I'd be thinking if Josh had a guy like that to throw to everyone would get off his case.

Cowherd is the worst. I wish some one would put up a compilation clip of all the times he's been wrong. I remember all last season that guy was saying the Bills were over-hyped and Josh wasn't even the best QB in the divison. That dude is corny af

This year I will likely watch the Draft from my living room and wait and wait for the Bills to select.  (This drafting at #30 is a new phenomenon) After pick #10 I think anything can happen.  I don't see Beane selling the farm to move up into the top ten, but I could see him go after a "difference maker" in the teens and early twenties if he can swing a deal.   The thing I dread the most is finally getting to pick #30 after waiting three hours only to hear that Beane has traded out of the 1st round.   I hate to think about sitting there all night watching awkward man hugs with the Commish, listening to draftniks blather on about everyone else's draft picks, and not even see my Bills on the clock once.

    We're nine days out from the Draft and it's time to call your shot.  Does Beane;

    1.   Trade up

    2.  Stand pat

    3.  Trade back

My prediction is that Beane will trade up and grab a player between picks #20 - #23

Lol that's how I felt when KC traded up for Mahomes. Trade backs aren't really exciting or splashy, but sometimes it's the smart thing to do. We know Beane will also trade up to if needed. With a pretty stacked roster I wouldn't count that out.

Where Buffalo stands heading into 2021

After claiming the throne for the first time since 1995, the Bills have turned themselves into the class of the division. Not only are they looked at as a favorite to once again win the AFC East, but they are one of the favorites to come out of the conference and reach the Super Bowl. Allen's leap in 2020 also has him as a legit MVP candidate, so things are looking awfully bright in Buffalo, especially after an offseason where it retained a large chunk of its core.

I think things will be tighter this year.

I can't really argue with this. To me it all depends on Tua's progression. If he can become even average then the Fins will be the only AFC East threat. Personally, I don't see anything special.

Jets are rebuilding and the Pats I have no ****ing clue what their strategy is.

Only because we were picking 30th thought maybe worth it like KC did last year, but Beane again has picked up nice role players including Breida for speed.  I walked away from that position and believe we need to meet need with BOA on our board.  As much as it’s commonly thought CB, DE, and maybe DT are the best places to take at 30, my guess is CB and DT quality maybe better than Edge.  Any would be fine with me.

A big nickel later in the draft, and maybe Beane pulls his magic and gets us on more TE.  I like the Hollister plan especially because there is cohesion with Josh at Wyoming.  My WAG is Josh was lobbying to seek him out.

Exactly. I was in the "draft a RB crowd" but after thinking about it I now agree with the BPA strategy. Hopefully that aligns with our biggest needs. DT, DE, CB2, G, etc.

I think a good pass catching RB could put this offense over the top, but not in the first.

I take Peter King with a grain of salt. He said the phinz would win the division last year. Im a very simple minded person in that way. He can kiss my arse.

Peter King’s 2020 NFL season predictions

Buffalo will be good enough on defense, but Josh Allen worries me. The Bills were held under 20 points in their last five games of 2019. Is the addition of Stefon Diggs enough to get them off the offensive schneid?

The Tua Tagovailoa watch is on in Miami. But if the Dolphins win 10 games as I think they can, the more important additions will come on defense, in corner Byron Jones and versatile linebacker Kyle Van Noy.

    AFC Playoff Seeds

    Baltimore

    Kansas City

    Tennessee

    Miami

    Indianapolis

    Buffalo

    Las Vegas

I mean they did go 10-6. It wasn't THAT far fetched.

Funny thing is, even though I know this already happened, I found myself saying "slide" or holding my breath for a second if he fell awkward.

I thank God everyday that the Bills drafted Josh Allen. Beane could get every pick wrong from here on out and he will still remain a legend in my book. Genius move and now we are set for the next 15+ years.

Instead of just staying where you’re slotted or even trading back to accumulate more pick(s), I would think that a team would be more afforded to take that shot to move up in a draft to be in better position to take a player that is projected to be a difference maker. The window for a team to sustain great success is usually opened for just a few years, especially due to the salary cap. Rosters are turned to some degree from year to year and then the contracts start to mount and catch up to a successful team, forcing them to make bigger changes.

The thing is this roster is barely solidified. Luckily, we had an elite passing game and decent bend-don't-break takeaway defense to cover some things up.

I have been reading much about the return of Star - the one true 1 technique DT, we have. If he does not return in good shape , or doesn’t perform at a high level - are we back to last years defense?

i am concerned we don’t have a back up or injury replacement for Star.

Seems like our last hope is the draft. I am worried about so much being based on a rookie.

what do you guys/gals think about the others on the roster who could play this spot? Any injured/dinged up players returning that would be challenging Star - or are the backup?

How about those who follow college and the draft? Got some favorites in the first 3 rounds?

I actually expect the defense to return to dominating form, but I think the offense will take a small step back (I'm in the minority here.) Star returning will be huge along w/ a younger rookie prospect.

Seeing the picks the rest of the AFC East has compared to Buffalo it’s going to be interesting to see just what Beane has up his sleeve. The Jets and Dolphins each have two 1st rd picks and the Patriots pick at #15, the earliest that they have picked since 2008 when they drafted Mayo at #10.

I like how Beane fortified the OL and how he also added to the LB position. I don’t expect either position to be addressed in the 1st rd. While some have hopes of the Bills to grab one of the top 2 RBs, Harris and Etienne, it would be a mild surprise to me if either name is called on Day 1 of the draft. The Bills didn’t lose to the Chiefs because of their RBs, they lost to them because they couldn’t get to MaHomes. Imo that really only leaves 4 positions to address in the 1st rd and that is WR, TE, CB and the DL. Although I, as in many, would love to see the Bills add Florida’s TE Kyle Pitts it just doesn’t seem reasonable nor feasible. As far as WR goes it’s obvious that we’re ok there for at least a year or 2. So I guess it should either be the secondary or the DL. Re-signing Wallace and the play of Dane Jackson last year may be enough to let the Bills just to focus solely on the DL.

If that turns out to be the case what would you like to see happen? Do the Bills look towards the future without Star or does Horrible Harry fill that spot? Or is it a edge rusher of some sort, either DE or pass rushing OLB that will be addressed? It’s seems to me to be the latter but picking at #30 makes it pretty difficult to find a worthy player. I’m thinking that now that Beane has filled a lot of depth at certain positions and facing a cash strapped salary cap season that maybe, just maybe Beane goes for quality rather than quantity and uses a combination of player(s) and draft pick(s) to move up into the mid teens to low 20’s to be able to be in position to get such a player. No matter what I believe Beane is gonna have to make yet another bold move in this year’s draft to get the Bills back into some title games this season imo.

Just one of the many problems great teams face.

Get it done Beane!!!! we can give the dirty birds this years first and next years first along with a third and a late rounder in either year so we can get Pitts. I know we need some D but this guy has all the tools to make our Offense even better. We wont be getting starters with later first round picks anyway not with this roster. But if we get Pitts we get a starting TE. Thoughts.....

I would even throw in Edmonds in on the deal and draft a MLB in the second round!!!

This just doesn't seem like Beanes style, I mean if he did then he might know something that I don't. I would be upset, but I would also trust the process and hope for the best. I just don't see this happening all in all.

You were comparing the one year of some guy at BYU to one of the greatest single seasons a QB has had in college football offensively.

The facts I provided in my post.  Newton was on a far different  planet in his last year than Wilson has ever even seen through a telescope.

Cam Newton wasn't a surefire 1st overall guy like people seem to think. His system was extremely simple at Auburn and not to mention all his off the field BS. Carolina could've went in many directions w/ that pick. He was a huge gamble that happened to work out. Heisman winners don't even pan out half the time from any position.

  14. 2 minutes ago, Mr. WEO said:

He only started 1 full season

That was a factual response, full of facts and everything

Anh one of us could be GM of the Lions or the Jets, so what's your point?

You literally said my comparison is dumb. Just disagree and leave it at that . We're fans of the same team.

  15. Just now, Mr. WEO said:

    lol Newton?

In that one year, he scored 51 TDs (30 passing, 20 rushing--running for 1500 yards, and 1 receiving) and won a National Championship.

you couldn't have made a dumber comparison.

Well maybe not teams, but certainly no less than TBD's favorite idiot savant, Chris Simms does

I can't stand know-it-all, sarcastic people like u who crap on people's opinions on a message board. Get a life, dude. There's a reason you aren't a GM lol I stated my opinion and you call it dumb. Why don't u formulate an intelligent and factual response instead of being a ****?

And yeah it's a decent comparison and if u don't like that one then go on the internet and find another one. There's plenty of one season wonders that came in the NFL and dominated

  16. 33 minutes ago, Mr. WEO said:

    Yeah, ol what's his name!

Picking a one full season college starter who no one heard of a year ago at #2...what could go wrong??  (asking for a Bears fan)

Oh you mean like Cam Newton who was a one year wonder then got drafted and goes on to shatter multiple rookie passing records?

I guess Carolina should've went with the "safe" multiple season starter that year like Blaine freaking Gabbert, Ponder, or Locker 🙄

Good quarterbacks come in all shapes, sizes, and paths. You either have it or u don't and I highly doubt the Jets are gonna go with Mac Jones over a one year guy like Fields or ol' what's his name.
