You mean the programs those old folks have paid into and now want to make sure stick around. Where the new emperor and his gaggle of thieves want to kill the old folks and give the spoils to the younger crowd that will be around for 50+ years of voting for them. But more and more people are going to the docs. As the baby boomers grow older the demand fo services has gone up. Add to that the demand for lipo, etc... and there are not enough docs to go around. Thus the old supply and demand. If you think it is expensive now, add 50 million folks to an already overtaxed group of people and cost will go up a lot more. Hence the reason why you medical coverage has increased in cost, more folks in, more demand for service, not enough people providing service, more payout by the insurance company and voila, drastically increased cost.

FYI, EII, just got the rates for next year. Ours are going up 7 whole dollars a month. A whopping 2.5%. I guess that roughly COLA so, I can live with that.

Well your employer is getting crappy rates for you. We pay 270 (135/paycheck) a month. They pay 830 (415/paycheck). So for family coverage which covers us no matter if we have 1 kid or 25 kids.

When one post obvious lies whether though purposeful decent, stupidity or ignorance, then they need to be called on them especially when it is obvious that they are looking for sympathy rather than trying to carry on a discussion with facts. When posting an obvious plea for the sympathy vote, it is no wonder our country is in trouble. one can not discuss the merits of what they propose because they don't have facts to support it.
