  1. What flaws?
  2. Neither of these hit as a cat 5 hurricane first off. Second off people are offered insurance for a reason. To insure they can rebuild if there is a problem Third, if you can't afford the insurance then you probably can't afford to rebuild either if you take your chances, and therefore you probably could not afford to buy the house in the first place. So WTF should the government pick up rebuilding your house for you because you were obviously too cheap or unwilling to take care of yourself. Sorry not the governments job. There job is to provide basic relief, general aid and support that above and beyond the local government and help maintain control and order. Also to provide some stimulous to get business back. Beyond that it is the local governments and the individuals to rebuild there homes, streets, etc...
  3. Nope had no desire to see it at the theatre. Of course when I started watching it at home, I am glad I didn't pay for it.
  4. Stupid is as stupid does. OR something like that. never saw the whole movie.
  5. Wasn't there a statue made in Mckinley park as well that lit up at night and also looked like a penis?
  6. 3500 is great even in WNY where there are roughly 3 million people. That is about .1% if my math is correct. In our county alone it's close to 10% that don't pass those tests every year.
  7. Couple of things. First off, I was a lead analyst on the single family system at HUD that dealt with the collection, distribution and claims on the different types of insurance back in the mid 90's. These included PMI, flood, etc... Secondly if you were being charged 500 dollars the house you bought was built in a federally protected land area that the feds wanted to control development on, hence the "non-federally" subsidized extra charges. Thirdly if you bought that house, and did not get insurance, then it is like gambling. Yeah you saved 500 a month that you wouldn't get hit, but when the dealer has black jack, you pay up. The reason you paid that was because the feds pretty much let the private insurers charge what they wanted. Sorry for your loss, but I do not expect the federal government to bail you out because you chose not to insure yourself.
  8. I agree with him, but agree with your assestment of him also.
  9. Yeah, like you would know. Darin knows some of what I have at home. Trust me natural selection doesn't work on my street.
  10. Unless people from Indiana and New Jersey break in and start printing page after page of what goes on here and give it out at the tailgate.
  11. But Mularkey said Moulds sucks, can't catch and can't get open any more.
  12. I live inland VA, non-flood plain and I am not covered by the federal flood special purchase program. However, I have flood insurance as a rider covered directly by statefarm and it is just under 100 per year. In I lived in the flood area elsewhere it would be under the federal program and covered at 231 or whatever it is per year. The only place not covered is in federal protected land like CBRS and the federal government wants to limit or prevent all development there for environmental or endangered species protection. If you built there, then yes you do pay 300-500 per month for insurance but the risks are set when the property was built. BTW, if you lived in Biloxi it is covered by the FEMA flood program.
  13. game sold out in time. Fletcher practiced Milloy and Williams didn't .
  14. That's where they had the neon penis.
  15. He'd probably say that about a cold dead wet fish too.
  16. Seems to me you are blowing smoke on the flood insurance cost. http://www.pueblo.gsa.gov/cic_text/housing...d/insurance.htm The exception is for buildings in Coastal Barrier Resources System areas. So if you built a house in the CBRS and didn't consider the added cost, whose fault is it when you flood? Oh I see the federal governments and therefre they should pay you. And for those who don't know, CBRS are protected lands where the government really doesn't want development and will not fund or support anyone who does build there. http://www.fema.gov/nfip/cbrshist.shtm
  17. Only if it's hard first.
  18. Exactly. And this is the way it should happen. Thanks red.
  19. And that's why states like Florida should have a state income tax. To pay for the costs when it does happen. That why Texas , LA, MS, etc.. should rasise their rates a little.
  20. Those billions are across several states, and therefore no one state is picking up all the costs. But why should the feds pay for someone to reconstruct a house because that person chose to not get fully insured, or give 2000 debit cards to people just because. What about personal responsibility and living with the consequences of the decision, instead of always looking for a handout. People move otu because other states put themselves at risk or look for handouts when the first thing goes wrong. While NYS is not the model of good government as they raise taxes to offset the continued loss of a tax base, rather then trying to attract new business with specialized tax cuts. You need to get over it and get active in your state to realize that the founding father mandated that each state be self suffcient, and not always look to the feds for monetary support.
  21. Then raise your states taxes, and have your states become self sufficient and not rely on the feds for everything. edit: everytime there is a blizzard the Feds don't send tractors, and troops to Buffalo along with 10 billion. The state and local government pay for that. They pay to have the road repairs done. They pay higher gas bills because it gets cold. Well those states along the gulf coast should learn to be more self sufficient and not look for handouts. How about a rainy day or hurricane fund, because you know damn well you're gonna need it on occassion.
  22. Way to miss the point Mickey. The point that the towns, village, cities of a small county like Cattaraugus have plans, responsibilities, etc... for every imaginable disaster spelled out, contact points.etc... and nowhere does it have FEMA responsible for anything other then help in defining the plan, providing charts, graphics. They state it is local, county and state responsibility. And what does a link to NFl stats have to do with the LA plans.
  23. The extra padding you guys put in the endzones should help as well.
  24. Cheater. Bet you put laser sights on your pistol as well.
