Richmond has been a great place for our family. Great schools, housing, rectreation, shopping and close to everything....Even starting to get discount airlines. I'm partial to the west end (Henrico) as I am sure others on this board will clamor for Southside (Cheterfield), just stay out of the city.

Miz Hillary hosts B'day party for Byrd
30dive replied to stuckincincy's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I'm pretty certain the media would have reported this if 'ol Hillary had said: ".....things would be a whole lot better today had the Mr. bird of old (read KKK) had his way back then." I'm quite certain they would have pounced on that! The fact is that the Lott media uproar was not about a party for a 100 year old senator, it was not, it was about the coments he made. -
Well done Bill! Pervert

You know I have been around here a pretty long time, post on a regular basis. I was raised on the Great lakes so with the 30th anniversary of the "wreck" I thought it might be a pretty interesting "OFF THE WALL" topic. Never in my wildest imagination would I have thought that this thread would be my most repsonded too! Never mind that 90% of the replies have had nothing to do with the "wreck". I am sad to agree this might be the worst thread ever. Thanks for detroying my ego folks

Based on the fact that the red haired kid is laughing his ass off I'm thinking the guy has his pants at his ankles.

Growing older does not necessarily mean growing up!

This thread has sunk to depths far deeper than the depth in which the 'ol Edmund rests.

by Gordon Lightfoot The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee The lake, it is said, never gives up her dead When the skies of November turn gloomy. With a load of iron ore - 26,000 tons more Than the Edmund Fitzgerald weighed empty That good ship and true was a bone to be chewed When the gales of November came early The ship was the pride of the American side Coming back from some mill in Wisconson As the big freighters go it was bigger than most With a crew and the Captain well seasoned. Concluding some terms with a couple of steel firms When they left fully loaded for Cleveland And later that night when the ships bell rang Could it be the North Wind they'd been feeling. The wind in the wires made a tattletale sound And a wave broke over the railing And every man knew, as the Captain did, too, T'was the witch of November come stealing. The dawn came late and the breakfast had to wait When the gales of November came slashing When afternoon came it was freezing rain In the face of a hurricane West Wind When supper time came the old cook came on deck Saying fellows it's too rough to feed ya At 7PM a main hatchway caved in He said fellas it's been good to know ya. The Captain wired in he had water coming in And the good ship and crew was in peril And later that night when his lights went out of sight Came the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. Does anyone know where the love of God goes When the words turn the minutes to hours The searchers all say they'd have made Whitefish Bay If they'd fifteen more miles behind her. They might have split up or they might have capsized They may have broke deep and took water And all that remains is the faces and the names Of the wives and the sons and the daughters. Lake Huron rolls, Superior sings In the ruins of her ice water mansion Old Michigan steams like a young man's dreams, The islands and bays are for sportsmen. And farther below Lake Ontario Takes in what Lake Erie can send her And the iron boats go as the mariners all know With the gales of November remembered. In a musty old hall in Detroit they prayed In the Maritime Sailors' Cathedral The church bell chimed, 'til it rang 29 times For each man on the Edmund Fitzgerald. The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee Superior, they say, never gives up her dead When the gales of November come early. © 1976 Moose Music, Inc.

I know I know Canadian two dollars are now coins, but there must still be Canadian two dollar bills. So is it true that on the Canadian two dollar bill the flag flying over the Paliment building is an American flag?

That's it.... You've got it. I can only make about two games a year, living in Virginia. But from here on out I will continue to go to games, but will not spend a penny on team gear and other TD creations until he (they) put a winner on the field. I ask you all to join me. Who's with me.......heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! This of course holds true until I get up there for the Denver game and my kids ask me to bring them back something from the Bills store. -
Especially ESPN

Oh that's right I forgot....Teddy was in, we can't beat the Teddy team 'cause it would be soooo wrong and soo un-NFL!

This coaching staff is beyond all things that make sense. How many more games do we have to see such clever play calling? Below just about sums it all up... Boston Globe reports: 'After the Patriots had pulled within 16-14 with 7:06 remaining, the Bills' running game should have been able to absorb some clock. But on second and 7 at their 32, the Bills decided ''mixing it up" would be the best course of action. Kelly Holcomb dropped back and was sacked by linebacker Rosevelt Colvin, who stripped Holcomb of the ball and recovered the fumble. The Patriots took over at the 23, and two plays later scored the go-ahead touchdown.

You are right, there are many cities in which the fans only show up when they are winning...Atlanta comes to mind. We support our team win or lose! I'm just really starting to wonder if we will ever win again.......especially under this "leadership"

I’m not giving up, so do not take this in the wrong way, but, do the Bills really need to win? I’m not predicting the early demise of Ralph Wilson, but as it has been pointed out so many times here, the new owner/s will have a big choice to make very early in his tenure and it will have nothing to do with who the starting Quarterback will be. Should the Bills stay in Buffalo? Tom Donahoe and his bunch have done a great job of selling tickets and creating a training camp environment in Pittsford that would make the folks at Disney proud, but the wins are not coming, and the real question is will they or better yet do they have to? Bills fans MUST buy tickets if the want to keep the Bills in town, win or lose the stadium has to be filled. A new owner (unlike a losing team in lets say Washington or New York) is not going to keep a team in “shrinking” city if the revenues do not make sense and the only way the revenues are going to remain up is if the seats are full. So we the fans are in that location called “ between a rock and a hard place”. If the Bills are winning, of course, just like any football town, the ticket is a tough item to get, but when we lose “eventually” the fan base is going to shrink, the ticket sales are going to go down, the revenues will drop. But in Buffalo the fans know that if they do not buy those tickets they will lose their team, it seems to me a form of unspoken extortion. Keep coming to the games, buy the merchandise, go to training camp, spend hours on your favorite Bills web site, maintain the Buffalo Bills “buzz” all year, but recognize that like you the fan we “want” to win but “we “ really don’t have to.
