You're a funny guy.  Come back often so the Wall can get more good laughs from your razor sharp wit...

You got it Clueless. I had a dog named Clueless once. He went outside to pee and was never seen again. He must have gotten confused by the dog door. You are so negative about Allen I just figured you were clueless. If it helps there are a lot of non believers out there. The crow shortage is going to help out the corn growers.

Not sure I agree. Both came out of small school, both played pro style offense if I recall correctl y.  Both had pretty much ideal measurable.  Wentz's stats looked better, but as one who has a pretty fair knowledge of statistics you could argue some statistical comparisons were very weak and didn't take  important variables into account.

Doesn't matter now though.  He gets his shot starting Sunday and we'll see

They both were recruited by the same coach and played under him and his system. Wentz for only two years. Allen for 3 years as he played jc ball one year, medical redshirt at Wyoming his first year and then left after his junior year.

No, that’s not what I saw.

Yes, you have proven you are an Allen hater. Other than that throw out your solutions.  You don't have any except to complain. So going forward,  how do you develop our qbs? Bring in a side attraction like Kapernick? He is a cancer. Plus keep in mind the payroll.

You proved my point.  Russell Wilson had the opportunity to develop his skills behind a very good offensive line.  He also was a more productive QB in college.

You do not think Josh Allen is raw?!?  Really?

Josh Allen is very raw and I know that because I have watched him play.  He has potential and could be special . . . but he was not particularly outstanding agains much lesser competition.

You have seen Josh Allen play? I have seen him play 23 times in person. Get outta here poser.

I thought Russell Wilson's line was pretty good.

Our line and team are historically bad right now.  You are probably going to get your wish.  I hope you are right.  I have my doubts and given the huge investment we have in Josh and the fact that he is very, very, very raw, I would be careful with him.

We shall see what happens to the kid when he gets thrown to the wolves.  It may even happen next week.  He was not particularly successful in college against lesser competition.  I am not sure what we can expect of the kid behind a crappy line against the likes of the Chargers, Vikings etc.

Playing with a lesser conference means less talent to go up against P5 schools.  P5 schools have more talent and are deeper genius.

I was quoting the other guy's phrase.

The fact is that we will never know how good any QB who was picked high and played behind a crappy line would have reached whatever potential he would have had.

Dak Prescott is a good example of what a young guy can do behind a good line.  I am sure he would not have had the rookie season he did if he played behind the Bills' line this year.

Yes, anyone who follows football does.

Please also do not suggest that Josh Allen is Andrew Luck or Peyton Manning.

I see, so a guy that could have been drafted 1 through 7 in a strong draft class that hasn't been seen since Marino and company gets automatically dismissed by you and what little knowledge  you have that  Allen could have that potential?  After one half of football where receivers kept dropping his passes behind one of the worst lines I have seen since Tampa Bay came into the league? Do you not watch TV , get on the Internet or read?  I guess it is useless to argue with an uninformed poster. And where did I suggest he was either of them. I suggested they got the hell beat out of them their first year and it didn't ruin them. And you know dang well what I meant unless you are that clueless. Which I think the latter is more possible. Get used to Allen , he isn't going anywhere.  And now I get the satisfaction of knowing it is going to eat you up. See ya in the funny papers.

I have nothing against Josh Allen.

You need to read my posts more carefully.

Reader's Digest Version: I do not want to destroy whatever potential the kid may have.  He is raw and I would hate to see the kid get killed and his potential stunted.  If only the Bills had bothered to make sure that we had a good offensive line to help the kid out (and Shady).

Do you know anything about what Luck and Peyton Manning went through in Indy? I think they are doing fine. Allen is used to the beating. He will be fine.

Read my previous posts on this subject.

    In a nutshell:

We have had all off season to replace Wood.  We did not.

We foolishly decided to nickel and dime our pro bowl guard. In my judgment, I think that Richie would be just fine if he was part of the team an we did not stupidly force the pay cut.  I presume you disagree.  History demonstrated that he was fine while in the structure of the team.

We traded. Cordy Glenn when I would have kept him.  I never saw Cordy get manhandled like Dion got manhandled against the Browns.

We made no attempt to re-sign Seantrel.  Our former VP, however, signed him as soon as he became GM of the Texans.  According to everything I read, Seantrel has played well for the Texans (and well against JJ Watt in practice).

    Just my two cents.

In case you don't know, Buffalo is not a destination for top of the line free agents. And if you ever listened to the GM''s plans, they are not putting out a lot of money for free agents until they get some salary cap moved. The previous regime left them no choice but to clear up enough room to get some quality people to Buffalo.

The problem is that we backed ourselves in a corner.

We traded AJ (which I thought was a mistake for a variety of reasons).

We have managed to create a horrible offensive line.

Right now, the alternative to starting Peterman (who was horrible) is starting Josh.  I think Josh has potential (how much I do not know) and is VERY raw.  I would hope that we do not destroy or stunt whatever potential he might have by getting him killed behind that line.

Did you watch any preseason? What do you have against Allen? NP had 1 start under his belt and threw 5 interceptions.  Now he has 7. N P sucks.

I hate Lynch. But he is better than Peterman. I said at the time I thought Peterman was borderline draftable. Every time he plays in the league he gets worse.

He is a practice qb. Plays good as long as the pressure to preform isn't too big. Consider Allen played in front of 30,000 people most weeks , and NP 100, 000 people. NP is in his second year and 2nd start, and Allen is more composed. Allen is used to no line or receivers. But he needs to learn to throw the ball away. He will learn sooner than later, just has to not try and be the savior. To stay within himself.

The Bills had a three-time national championship QB on the roster and chose to let him go for freaking Nathan Peterman.  Allen is not ready.  Why do teams keep believing pre-season hype?

No way do you pay KB next season.  He's proved nothing.

I could play qb for Alabama and be a national champion. Terrible post hater.

You see what you see, I saw what I saw.  I was not a Peterman fan at all, but if you count one tomato, two tomato when Allen threw on that timescale, the ball was gone before the Bengals got there....just as it was gone before the Panthers got there.  When he didn't or couldn't (because of play design) he got buried, just as I'm sure the Panthers would have loved to bury Peterman before he helped Benjamin show them up.

You're absolutely correct that Daboll didn't do any favors by switching up and experimenting with the line.  It's also a significant point that Dawkins was out, and there's a veritable talent cliff behind him.

I guess we won't agree on the Panthers game also. They hardly stunted, unlike the Bengals. So it wasn't even closeasier to being comparable. The cream will rise to the top. NP is a practice player when there isn't that much pressure on him. Once the heat comes it will prove out.

This offense is basically a mold of New Englands offense.

That being said, if Brady was behind this Oline Bucky would never say this.  Cause he gets the ball out quick and makes good decisions.

That being said, if the proper concepts are being called/play calls, allowing Peterman to get the ball out quickly, passing when the defense thinks we are running etc, Peterman should be fine.  That being said, if Peterman is being hit a lot, it may be because of Peterman and not the Oline.  (not saying this Oline is amazing, but he wouldn't say this if it was Brady)

Honestly... what make New Englands Oline so Great?! Oh yeah, Tom Brady and keeping the D on their heels.  Bucky is an Idiot!

You are assuming NP plays like Brady. Lol.

The 1st preseason game was a picnic compared to what the Bengals and Browns brought regarding pressure with their respective 1st team DLs in games 2 and 3.   McCarron and Allen were under siege.

It was pretty obvious to me that the further into the preseason, the tougher the defenses. It hardly looked like the Panthers were bringing it. And all three qbs did well against the 2s and 3s for the most part until the last game. So much depends on Dabolls play calling and liNE play. The Bengal game was about as horrible a first half for a team as a whole as it can get. How do you judge anything by that? You hope to just throw it out. Daboll didn't do Allen any favors by switching up and experimenting with a line that was so bad anyway. And going vanilla sure didn't help. I would hope NP could shine with the 1st team offense on the field against their 2s. It gave him confidence and allowed for a good showing. I have no doubt Allen couldnt have done as well or better in that position.  It is preseason crap, who knows what the staff was doing.

  13. My only thought's on this are that they use Allen in the red zone. In saying that, it would send a poor message to the team. And I don't know Petermans history in the red zone last year or in college. I do know Allens and it is very good. Saying that, this is the NFL and a poor Bills line. But what if Allen stays very good in the red zone? Then again, if he could move the ball there that well, then he could probably do it all the way down the field. I have a feeling by game 5 he will be starting. NP did what he had to do to get the starting job. It was mostly against the 2''s and 3's, but that is how it turned out. I don't think they wanted to start Allen unless he was so much better ,that they had to start him. If anyone has that chart showing what Allen did in the red zone, that would be cool to see. I am fine with however they use him.

I don't think even if he was signed it would take much to get either. Although Bellichek signed both of the Hollister boys, I think he is pretty fond of the one who went to Wyoming.  He used him a lot this preseason I do believe.  And they used him more as an H-back. I don't know the rules of putting one on the practicedge squad. But I would say the Bills need an upgrade in receivers. And even though Wyoming didn't play in a big conference, these guys did play well against Nebraska and some other bigger schools.

He's been my guy all along.  You can laugh and count him out all you want, but none of us really know who it will be. Based on things he's said, I think Coach McDermott likes AJ more than a lot of people around here think.

    We'll see what happens ...

So you staying with AJ as your starter? Lol.
