I know people aren’t going to like it but as we get closer my gut feeling is telling me it’s going to be Keon Coleman after a trade down. There is a lot there that fits Buffalo and their philosophy
I don’t see it personally… I wouldn’t mind him trading down .. but I don’t think he does and even less chance of them taking Coleman with their first pick… could get him at 60 as I think be is still there- 1

Bills v Houston Week 1 Monday night

Who knows for sure what's going on with him but I wouldn't be surprised if he is just feeling some stress or burnout from the team not meeting expectations. The Bills have been through a lot the last two seasons. But I do notice some differences in his demeanor and what he says in his press conferences now compared to a couple years ago. One thing I like about Beane is his accountability as he does own up to mistakes he's made in the past. I'm sure it takes a toll on him.
I like Beane .. But I think by his standards he has made a few bad calls over the past 2 years … perhaps he is feeling a bit of heat .. or it’s just the demands he puts on himself ..- 1

Even if it is somewhat realistic, the Bills don't need to trade back. It would be nice to see us fleece another team rather than McDermott getting foolishly swindled yet again.
You hoping for Cooper Dejean this year ?- 1

I believe it because he fits the Bills "type" at WR.
The rumors were that they liked Addison and JSN a lot last year and did a lot of work on both guys. Now this year, we're hearing Franklin, McConkey, and Worthy.
All of these guys are smaller, faster, quicker route technician types. Just as, to some extent, John Brown, Emmanuel Sanders, and Stefon Diggs all were.
I actually don't think it's a smokescreen at all. I think the Bills brass has more or less decided that Josh seems to do better with fast guys that run good routes than with big-bodied jump ball types.
I think Franklin is a very real possibility for the Bills come draft weekend.
Yes he does fit their type …as do others …However Ive heard a few people now go beyond the logic ( pardon the pun ) of him being a good fit .and moving on to claiming they have heard from “insiders “ that he is their guy …
I would be very surprised if more than half a dozen people would know what the Bills really think at this stage of proceedings… and I don’t think any of them are going to be blabbing to Pat Moran from Talking Buffalo podcast ..unless they want it out there …

Burton doesn’t seem to be their type…

I have heard the Franklin rumours a couple of times now…
I’m thinking smokescreen …

I think Polk is a safe floor guy. He is going to play in this league and be a starting receiver. The upside is what I question a tad. He reminds me a bit of Alec Pierce who went to the Colts a couple of years ago in the second. Probably a better route runner. Doesn't quite have Pierce's size. He is a bit lacking after the catch for my money and while I don't think his top speed is terrible he doesn't get to it quickly.
I think if you are double dipping and going like a Worthy for example then Polk in the 2nd... I like what you have as a compliment of skills there. If we only took one and it was Polk in the second I think you have an upgrade on Gabe Davis. But you don't have a true #1 IMO.
I got Polk pegged around 50-65… so if the Bills got him with their second pick I wouldn’t be complaining… ideally it’s after a double dip…I probably agree that’s it’s unlikely he becomes an No 1 … however If you get a guy in that range are you expecting him to become be a No 1 ? Of course it’s nice for it to happen but not sure it should be the expectation…
On the other hand … I have heard Beane say he “wants football players not athletes” .. but I don’t think he practices what he preaches looking at a lot of their Top 100 picks … They seemed to go against type last year with Torrence at the end of the second ..who wasn’t much of an athletic freak… and what do you know … looks like they have found themselves a football player

When we get onto hypotheticals about trading Josh … think it’s telling me that the pre draft commentary has just about ran its course…. And we desperately need to get this draft in the books and move on

Sutton could help the Bills for sure. The Bills can’t fit him under the cap so that’s moot. He is a vertical player like Davis, not a guy who can uncover quickly like Diggs. They are totally different types of WRs so, no, Sutton isn’t a “younger Diggs”.
I prefer to think of him as a “better Davis”…. I could see some upside in his game the next two years playing with JA …
edit…. I see you just said the same thing in the post before 😂👍 -

they haven’t heard anything about it because Beane is Stealth and moves in the shadows
Or he doesn’t want to do it .. or the other teams don’t want to trade down that far or they just prefer to take Nabors or Odunze themselves …Not as much fun to dream otherwise though … we’ll know in 11 days of dreams come true

He says that they haven't heard anything about it...but basically if could possibly maybe sorta happen. But nothing has been said.
He sounds like someone posting here tbh😂😂
he is suggesting that something is possible … like no kidding Sherlock 😂- 1

Sutton is 29. Stefon Diggs is 30 and we all saw the dropoff in production last year. Bringing in mid-range WRs at the end of their productive careers for a lot of money is not how to keep the Bills moving ahead.
$13m John …. Is that a lot in 2024?Gabe Davis just signed for that

Smaller size. He’ll be the # 2 DT off the board just because Murphy is bigger
Johnny started the off season as a solid mid teens Round 1 pick.. now he is the end of Round 1 guy that the “experts” try to squeeze in when they do Round 1 only mocks …The Kiper Belt with Field of Dreams Yates have him at 49 on their latest … but they have a bet each way and says they expect a team to still take him in Round 1… lols all round there … sometimes they pick with what they expect teams to do … and others it’s their opinions …

The best defensive player in the draft.
Seems to be falling in some mocks… yeah I know … mocks right … but starting to wonder if there is something negative out there ? -

yes, for BTJ.
I’ll say it again…if Seattle wants to go rebuild new regime…
We could pull off a huge trade.
28, 128, 2025 1st, 2nd, 2nd
for 16 & DK Metcalf
Essentially breaks down:
28, 128, 2025 2nd for 16 (BTJ)
2025 1st, 2nd for DK Metcalf (extended)
(I think this is what it would take for them to move him and IMO it’s fair)
yes, you don’t have a 1st or 2nd next year
but you just added 2 huge Beasts on the outside who can also FLY & you kept pick 60 for whatever
DK Metcalf
Brian Thomas Jr
Samuel (line up anywhere)
Shakir (slot)
+ Kincaid
We’re set for years.
IMO Beane needs to be thinking along these lines. The position is begging for a massive move
Throw in 60 and keep 128 and the Seahawks may even consider this …Not for me personally

When was the last time in 40 years that the Bills got a quality player for a 3rd or a 4th rd draft choice. It’s a pipe dream. The only reason the Texans got Diggs for a 2nd was because we couldn’t look at him anymore no less pay him.
Hey ..: if they can’t get him for a fourth - don’t do itIf he wants more money - don’t do it
But the Broncos might want to realise that they are trying to trade an above average, not great 28 yr old WR on the eve of one of the deepest WR drafts of all
time..

Who are the game changing 2nd rounders we’ve trotted out there. Any Sutton’s in the bunch. These teams without quality QBs need receiving. You have to give to get. The Redskins in the 70s with George Allen used all their draft choices to get quality vets. They got to SBs and were in the NFC championships with zero draft contributions.
2nd? I’m proposing to spend no more than a 4th which should get it done ..Normally Beane spends his 4ths moving up 2 spots when he gets anxious waiting for his turn

He can also stay in Denver and earn a new deal. He’s not happy playing under his current deal. We don’t need that.
Ok … rot in Denver then .. good luck getting a new deal in two years time with what ever QB ends up throwing to youIts not like he is currently underpaid for his production

One that is looking for an expensive, new deal.As I said, hard pass.
He can come here and earn a new deal…in the meantime play out the final two years on the old deal
25 minutes ago, Eastport bills said:Sutton is a younger Diggs at this point. He’s a solid # 2 and in our offense could be better with Josh. If Beane could pull him in for a 2nd next year it would be massive.
2nd? No way …4th would get it done

The number 1 thing I look for in the schedule now …is when they play in Miami…
The only time they have lost to them in forever was that September game in the heat …
