You want to protect that franchise QB, I think locking in Daryl Williams is priority #1 this offseason.
His only BIG Injury was the ACL, correct. But he was constantly dinged or playing injured and out of position for the Panthers and was very much a utility player.
Based on this year alone and the importance of his position I agree with you, but again for me, this is a sell high situation. I place trust in Beane to find a young cheap alternative.
I agree that Tackle should be a priority though, moreso if Williams leaves because, Nsekhe is also likely gone in FA so they will need a swing tackle too.

It's a great year to play the comp picks game, with the cap freeze. People act like Milano , Williams and Feliciano are irreplaceable because they have been success stories. Milano is an oft injured 5th rnd LB, Williams is an oft injured 3rd rnd OL who has endured far more down than up seasons, and Feliciano I was pulled off a practice squad.
I mean good luck to them, they will all deservedly get paid somewhere, but to me it screams sell high and replace in the draft. When will people trust the staff's ability to draft and develop?

I always find it odd when people say 0%. You are essentially saying it cannot happen. Why not say 1%? It's highly unlikely and still makes your point.

He was a really good player in 2015. He's been washed since the TJ Watt hit on his throwing shoulder.
I've never liked his narcissism.
I remember watching Panthers in the All or Nothing series. In the episode where he was meeting new owner Tepper, after successive seasons lost to injury. He was clowning and being overfamiliar, as if he owned the place. Tepper just passively looked at him with those merchant banker shark eyes. Next season he was gone.

I figured they would make the extra game against someone who wasn't already on the schedule. It would be a.good game though.
Typical if true This means the Patriots get 2 lousy teams each year now that they stink.

^ Here's the important point. He's out of contract and has been noticeably ineffective since Brown left. Just look at Jets forum. They wanted him 5 weeks ago as a FA receiver, now they want nothing to do with him. 100% this is about perception regarding FA.

Agreed it is funny. There's a difference between asking a question, and repeating it because you don't get the answer you want. I have no idea who that reporter is, but how could he be in any doubt that perhaps the greatest coach in football history is aware of the big picture and doesn't need tips?
Cam is washed and has been since the TJ Watt hit. It was a brutal hit. Watching him in Carolina after his throw strength had disappeared. It's looks like he's throwing shotput now. Whatever your take on his accuracy across his career he had a strong arm prior to that Watt hit.

They've also been missing Noah Fant and Phillip Lindsay. Under Fangio they have been better late season. Playing at altitude, and we've seen the Bills squeak through close games against bad offenses in NE and NYJ. This game is not a gimme.

It is odd. But then the Broncos have been unable to solve their QB through the draft since Elway. As they say in that thread, Allen played college locally and meets the traits esteemed by Elway. So it sort of makes sense that they question why Elway didn't make a run at him (only now in hindsight). They would have scoffed at passing on Bradley Chubb for Josh Allen back at draft time.

You're both right. And yet that very bad offense scored 32 points travelling to the east coast. They are a team that in recent years has finished the season well. My point is any given Sunday. Do they scare me? No. Do they have zero weapons and a QB who we know is Incapable. Absolutely not.
Lock was superb at the end of last season. You can say he played a bunch of teams who were lame ducks, you can say he's been terrible this year, that he has turned over the ball all season. All true. But he threw some beauties last year against the Bills and he can again.
I guess the other thing that bothers me here is that this was precisely the narrative surrounding Josh Allen. People wanting to put him in a bracket and say he can't be anything else ignoring his flashes. It's why I'm rooting for guys like Herbert and Lock who were all pegged pre draft by so called experts.
All that said, I expect a Bills win.

I disagree with this They scored 32 last week. Lots of playmakers. Capable running game Drew Lock can play well on a good day. I think they struggle playing from behind because they lack veteran leadership on offense.
Last week Carolina as they have all season, gave up the deep pass. They won't get that with the Bills. Broncos could totally win, but the Bills look much steadier right now.

When these things are being brought up by ex-players who know how a QB SHOULD be acting on and off the field, it is a problem.
If you look close enough anyone's behaviour can be critiqued. If your point is to bathe in the reflected glory of the comparible culture of the two teams then yes I expect Buffalo is much better than Arizona under Kingsbury- see Spain, Quinton, for keeping things quiet But human beings generally are flawed. I ask myself what is the motive behind this article. I am however pleased that Josh is likeable.

Sounds like a character assassination piece to me. He didn't cry when he was 6 down to Buffalo with under a minute to go. I can't speak to whether his character is douchey or not but he's only young and to be fair a large percentage of NFL players are probably douchey

Yes it's frustrating that he has no route to playing. The only IPP player whom I know of that has made an active roster is Efe Obada at the Panthers (2 sacks in the past 2 weeks). He spent year 1 on the exemption but they took the plunge year two and gave him a spot on the practice squad.
I'm a Wade fan but I think they made the right decision on him. Surely next year is his make or break. Tough to learn with the restrictions he faces. In his favor, the Bills rbs have not locked down starting spots. He has speed which the others don't. Such a pity he's ineligible for call up right now.

True. And it means the Bills won't ease off heading into the playoffs. I want to see them sweep the division not give away an easy win playing their reserves.

So much blame-laying. I wonder how some posters get through setbacks in daily life. I hope the Bills win the superbowl so that all the whiners will regret their feeble posts everytime anything went wrong this season.

Interesting similarities between Tak and Vic Beasley and Shaq Lawson. Guys selected perhaps too high who couldn't live up to franchise hopes. I remember Bills fans being very down on Lawson when McD showed up. He improved to the point that he won a big contract in FA and fans were sorry to see him go. They did the same with Jordan Phillips. I like their chances with reclamation project players.

It's funny that all teams used to say that of Josh. When Kyler was scrambled by the Carolina pass rush he made bad throw decisions. That's definitely something he needs to work on. He can make good throws too though and he has the weapons in a good receiving core.
I'm not comfortable with trying to put Kyler in a "this is what he is box". He's a good runner but like Josh it doesn't mean that he can't be a good passer too with flashes of brillaince and in time passing may become a strength.
As a No1 pick he's not a one trick pony while at the same time as a young guy he will make mistakes.

I do think their season opener was impressive. Their wins against weaker teams have been comfortable and high scoring and Murray has looked fluent in those. They are dangerous but inconsistent. A lot like the Chargers whom we have after the bye. They have been losing close games but offensively they can be dangerous. Write off those teams at your peril. See Bengals-Titans. That said living in Carolina I saw them beat the Cardinals and Murray had a bad day which was glossed over.

Cardinals losses weren't exactly a murderers row. Dolphins, Panthers, Lions. But they've also had good wins. They definitely blow hot and cold.

I agree that he has been very solid. He will want to be paid though. I don't mean in the 8m per range either. He hasn't yet had a big time NFL contract and teams will notice him after all these prime time showings. He won't be giving discounts which fans inexplicably always expect. Not sure that the Bills can get into a bidding war in FA. They also have reached the stage in their life cycle where they must develop players and accept that they can't keep them all and let them make money elsewhere.
True. Nothing in life is guaranteed. I get that people always want the sure thing. This year, of the PFF best rookie OLine 4 of the 5 players were drafted in the third round or later. People said the same thing of Shaq and Phillips last year too. It's part of being successful that fans need to get used to.
