The current scheduling system is a formula. Every team in a division plays the others twice each, play (the same) AFC division and same NFC division. That's 14 out of 17 games. Then they play a team from each of the remaining AFC conferences that finished in the same spot aa them. Then one game against a team from the NFC that finished in the same slot.
That means the AFC West teams play the same 14 games, and the other three are stacked *against* the higher-ranked teams. KC has to come here next season because we both finished in 1st. Five of KC's seventeen games, almost a third of the season, will be against teams that finished in first place in their divisions. Meanwhile, five of the Chargers' games will be against last-place finishers.
KC has a harder road to the Super Bowl going through the AFC. They beat Buffalo and Baltimore on the road.
Let me ask this. In the '90s do you think any Bills fan called for realignment after Buffalo won the AFC for four concecutive years?

I respect their greatness but I'm just sick of the Chiefs at this point and the sideshow that comes with it now with certain people that I won't even bother mentioning. And I hate having to listen to this whole narrative about how the NFL is rigged and scripted for the Chiefs to get there because of the ratings because of a certain someone. I don't believe that's true but I just hate the fact this has become a narrative. The Niners I feel kinda meh about as well, as an organization they have either been to the Super Bowl or NFC championship game so many times already and there is nothing exciting about Brock Purdy. Like I just mentioned above, yes I probably will end up watching the game but this just feels kinda lame this year. I was actually very excited for the Championship games today.
This. Although I'm more inclined to believe the refs are biased toward KC. The PI that wasn't called on the pic when Lamar threw into triple coverage, and the horrifically blatent PI near the end that forced the Ravens to settle for a field goal stand out. The calls on Baltimore were legit, but the refs let KC get away with murder.

They were covering for him. They were doing him a favor. He just...wow. How to torpedo your career with one social media post.

Everyone knew Miami had no chance in that game.Yeah, but go check the thread. A number of posters here said they wanted KC to beat Miami. The idea being Houston had a better chance of knocking out Baltimore and giving us a home AFC Championship game. That...worked out exactly as I warned.

For everyone that wanted KC to beat Miami in the Wild Card round, this is what I warned you about. I said I wanted KC out at all costs b/c they have the postseason experience to win any game they're in.

What? Having the ball knocked out on a tough tackle is NOT an example of beating yourself! Note, I didn’t say that they don’t have negative plays.
It is. It was knocked out when he dove. Given the situation, he needed to protect the ball better.

When is the last time you said "Wow, that was brilliant coaching?", "He had that team ready.", "Yeah, he was ready for..." in regards to McD? He can keep a locker room together, he can squeeze a lot out of his players, but when it comes to gameday coaching, he's just...meh. McD is the Tyrod Taylor of coaching. Good enough to elevate bad teams, but bad enough to limit good ones.

Ravens made too many mistakes. And the refs on that non-call at the end...oof. I hate to say it, but the Chiefs are the new Pats.

Im conflicted.
I tend to root for underdogs, but at the same time, it sucks that yet ANOTHER team could get their first Super Bowl before we do.
Detroit hasn’t won a playoff game in 30 years and all of a sudden they may get a ring before us?
Petty, but it makes me kinda want them to lose 😂.But either way, I want an NFC victory in the SB.
Who's fault is that, though? I'm not going to hold Buffalo's inadequacies against Detroit.
Buffalo wasn't cheated or robbed. The games they lost, they lost.

Seeing the Bills drop three straight Divisional Round games, the last two at home, and McD still having his job, would you have enough faith in the Bills to give them a discount?

Let Detroit win it. It makes for the unique situation of the Lions and Rams QB trade resulting in both teams winning a Super Bowl.

Obviously enough people care to make it an active thread. Why post just to say you're not? There is a simpler way. It's called hitting the back button and then never opening the thread again.
If you post in a thread saying you don't care about the thread it makes you look like a fool. If you really didn't care you wouldn't have wasted the time and effort replying, would you?

I don’t get this line of thinking.. which is very common. EVERY great coach won because of their QB… I can’t think of one GREAT HC who didn’t have a great QB with him.
We lost to a backup in SB XXV, and didn't Baltimore win a SB in 2000(?) with an average QB?

I said here I wanted to fire him into the sun. I wasn't serious. If people are actually attacking him over this...those people need to get a life.
I still think he needs to go, and certainly shouders a good amount of blame for the loss, but c'mon people...
-
He's not the sole reason we lost, but dear lord he shoulders a chunk of the blame. He makes it, at least Mahomes has to work for it. One fluky play, a turnover, and it goes into OT. There is *no* excuse for that miss. None.

Fire Bass into the moon. Get rid of him. Cut him and run him out of town. We just pulled a Packers. Somehow, somehow, this hurts just as bad as 13 seconds. I...am...so...sick of this!

Yeah, I mistook the snowball for a flag, too. XD
-
The refs are making their position known early.

Feeling decent, but worried about that officiating team and our special teams, atm. Bass has been erratic, we're on our backup punter, and that ref team is calling an average of ten penalties/game on us iirc.

"That's Good Sports" has a graphic for Feed the Pit, but I can't bring it up at work.
Also, I think it only works with willing sacrifices, and would not want to test that mojo with unwilling ones.

They were about to go down 24-0, on the road in the playoffs, shortly before halftime in a game they had to kickoff to start the second half. They could have given up. Instead, they kept fighting and managed to keep the game close enough to keep us sweating.
Miami gave up. Dallas gave up. Pitt certainly did not.

Today's theme, the refs won the game for us when pitt got close. Josh is biggest douche in the world lol
Also Josh, who trucked a dude on the way to the endzone, is a wimp.

Bills fans were yelling at Allen to slide at that point. Nobody watching thought he was starting a slide. It's Josh, he's not sliding when there isn't a defender anywhere near him. Bad take, and ironic coming from a Chiefs' fan whose QB routinely fake slides/goes out of bounds. You know what? Make it a 15-yard penalty. If enforced fairly and properly it would hurt KC a lot more then Buffalo.

It's staggering. Each injury looks back-breaking, and yet they somehow keep it rolling. Given the sheer number of injuries thus far it's completely unbelievable.

This will give McD a chance to devote his full attention to head coaching. There is a reason teams have coordinators and assistants. I'd rather have McD squarely focused on his head coaching responsibilities during a game.
