Can’t see Pittsburgh unless he only cares about playing with his brothers. The Big Ben situation looks like a mess and it’s hard to see them as a legit title contender with him under center.
Cleveland’s a possibility but I can’t see him picking Lil Baker if he wants to win a title.
Tennessee is legit.  I’d worry most about them.

Not sure how the Steelers would even restructure Ben's contract again unless they resign him past 2021 and he's owed a $15 million roster bonus in March. Wouldn't be surprised to see him retire or have the Steelers release him.  The Steelers could then either go after Darnold or let Rudolph / Haskins fight it out.

I don't think it has any effect on the case against Reid.

It may cloud the picture of auto insurance responsibility for the crash, depending on the arrangement under which Britt Reid was using the vehicle.

Fortunately that's not an immediate issue for the family thanks to the GoFundMe

Per link in the above, the timeline for completing the investigation and deciding upon charges is 30 to 60 days

    https://fox4kc.com/news/documents-reveal-new-details-into-crash-involving-chiefs-coach-britt-reid-that-left-girl-critically-injured/

And per the Kansas City Chiefs....Britt Reid is no longer employed by the team

    https://fox4kc.com/sports/chiefs/britt-reids-contract-with-chiefs-expires-club-says-hes-no-longer-employed-by-team/

    Apparently nepotism has its limits

Not to make light of what happened to Ariel, but the collateral damage from this will extend to Britt Reid's own family and also Andy's.

I doubt if found guilty of any charges related to alcohol that he will ever be employable by the Chiefs or any other team in the NFL. He

already has a felony conviction which would make it tough to get any job, let alone a football job. I would find it hard to believe that Britt's

wife was not aware of his drinking but she obviously can't watch him while he's at the Chiefs' facility or anywhere else outside the home.

Financially this could ruin him and his family and I suspect Andy would move them out of KC as his kids are approaching school age and would

face the eventual taunting and harassment by classmates over their father.

If he goes to prison, I'm sure Andy will pick up their family expenses wherever they end up but a civil suit could run into the millions.

Lots at stake for all families involved but let's pray that Ariel recovers and has a normal life.

I think they will be back. They are going to make the playoffs every year. I don't think they will be back in the big game every year but they will be in more Superbowls in the Mahomes era. I mean just not blowing every first round pick would have helped Seattle. If you want to know why they haven't been back look at their draft record since 2014. I'd be stunned if Mahomes never makes another.

Back in the day, lots of folks thought the same about Dan Marino.  Times change - coaches, injuries, personnel, etc.

Coming to Buffalo ... from Tampa Bay ... is going to make him bigger as a brand? Um, OK.

    Too expensive this year.

    Can't see him leaving Brady.

Agreed - Gronk's not going anywhere - by all accounts, he's really close to his mom and she's in Fort Myers. Wouldn't be surprised to see him take less $ to stay in Tampa and FL has no state tax.

    Pretty much, This.

I would be hella embarrassed as a Bills fan if Josh Allen's GF or siblings or Mom went off like that.  Just say you're proud of your man or son and leave it at that.

I mean, complaining about the PHOTOS that Sportscenter posted?  Photos during the game?  Sheesh!

Yes a couple of the calls were ticky-tack IMO.  But there was plenty of chance to win the game regardless.

And some of the calls were Right On, KC was just allowed to get away with that crap in the AFCCG.  Well, hey y'all, guess what - if Chris Jones doesn't blatantly foul an OLman, maybe you don't get flagged for personal foul.  If you don't actuall grab a WR running up the sideline and trip him in front of the ref before the ball gets there, maybe you don't get DH or DPI (forget which call that was).

Don't know why but I'm reminded of Patrick Reed's wife Justine when I see these two.

Edit: this is a story that moved me when I read it, about a football player and his journey with addiction - from playing in 2 Superbowls, to sleeping under a bridge, being found by a young photojournalist who did a story on him, to getting sober and finding work and love.  The part that stayed with me from the "Happy Recovery" part of the story: "“It only takes one slip,” he said, “and I’ll end up right back where you found me."  And he did.  https://www.nola.com/entertainment_life/article_d32d7ad2-8140-502d-b65a-7c35d2aa8999.html

Having an addiction, it must be hell.  But having someone you care about struggle with addiction, it's also hell.

Great story about Jackie Stewart although not what I expected at the end.

Fact is everyone on the planet has their demons and some are just better equipped to keep them in the closets than others.

If the standard is not being a criminal or dead then I suppose. I have 3 kids not sure I would consider just one of them dead or a drug addict a success.

If you believe the stories written while Reid was in Philly, sounds like Andy and his wife did everything humanly possible to help both the son that died and also Britt. Some kids are hell bent on self-destruction for whatever reason and there's nothing a parent can do to stop it ... especially when they get older.  One of the quotes from Garrett, the son that overdosed, was that he really enjoyed being a drug dealer in the Philly hoods and having everyone know who he was. You're right in that Andy was probably away a lot and the kids had a lot of time and $ on their hands and quite possibly that contributed to the mess we see now.

He might be even if she doesn't. At this point based on his history and anecdotal evidence I would say he deserves it.

Another point is Reid had another son die of an overdose and do jail time. I think it's safe to say a lot of NFL coaches are miserable parents. Any 24/7 job takes you away from your family is going to be a challenge. I imagine you have to have a plan and be very dedicated to whatever time off you have to be dedicated to them.

Even the "great" Tony Dungy went back and coached after his kid killed himself. I thought it was a scum bag move personally but I care about my family so what do I know. He had a enough money in his pocket to walk away from work forever, didn't even take the day. I've never really thought much of him since then.

There are hundreds of examples of NFL coaches and broken families.

I'd be onboard with this except Reid has 3 other kids who appear to have turned out OK.

Dont be surprised if KC release Reid after this colossal tragedy that occurred days for the SB. Organizations must weigh risk vs reward. Right now, Reid  is a huge risk/PR nightmare  moving forward due the ongoing saga that continues to plague his family.

They know his BAC. They are waiting to see which turn this poor child takes and then he will be charged accordingly.

Sincerely doubt they will release Andy Reid due to an accident caused by his son. No doubt his son will be relieved of his duties.

Also, the police will wait until the investigation is complete and then charge Reid if warranted. They won't wait until they see if the girl recovers as it could be months.

It was a DUI and that is a felony. Reid has some soul searching to do. If the kid, God forbid dies, we're talking vehicular homicide.

DUIs are not always felonies otherwise there would be a boatload of people that would be disqualified from a lot of jobs.

Simple case search here tells me his DUI was a misdemeanor.

When you are convicted of a  drug felony and are released, you are tested for drugs and alcohol by provisions of parole. This violent criminal, who got hired as a coach in the NFL ,,without regard to. his criminal history through nepotism, should have been tested like players are for drugs and steroids constantly.  The behavior clause in most NFL contracts should apply to a coach with a criminal record and alcohol abuse. Maybe this dangerous, oblivious act might have been avoided. I'm sure the parents of these children would agree with better oversight.

I share your concerns about the oversight, but I believe his drug conviction was a misdemeanor and the gun charge was a felony. Since they happened back in 2007 or so, he might have been on probation for awhile that eventually ended. Drug testing is certainly possible and may even be in Reid's contract, but how do you test someone for alcohol abuse ?

If Andy's boy doesn't do real time our justice system is laughable. Andy obviously has plenty of culpability in this knucklehead jerk getting employed after pulling a gun in a road rage incident and then getting a DUI a few years ago. NFL players who are rightfully sensitive to racial injustices, need to come out and slam this behavior. A little child is fighting for life , and this privileged drunk has been enabled to threaten innocent lives by an oblivious TV football icon, who has insulated him from scrutiny.  Reid has already lost a son to drug addiction. I think he should be sanctioned by the league for allowing his criminal ,maniac son to work in the league without rehabilitation and monitoring.

He has been to rehab multiple times and apparently been clean since his arrests in PA. Clean meaning no substance abuse convictions or DUIs.

How would Andy Reid or the organization go about monitoring his son ?  Addicts are very good are hiding their addictions.

I don't think the Bills are in the market to trade a pick and pay $4.7M for a clipboard holder.

Allegedly 4 teams have enquired about his availability:

The Toronto Argonauts, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the Saskatchewan Rough Riders ... who's the 4th ?

This is exactly right. The game is so far down on the list. When will people learn? DON'T Drink and Drive!!!!!!!!!!!! In the age of Uber and Lift, how can people make the decision to drive after drinking? So Effing Selfish!!!

Unfortunately, don't drink and drive is not a black or white answer for a lot of people and I throw no stones as I did it many times in my youth.

Many of the ADHD symptoms change as people get older.  So things like hyperactivity and impulsiveness aren’t as bad of an issue with adults as they can be in children.  His past, does make we wonder whether he truly needed or if he wanted it for recreational use.

And if the Reids were cool with him drinking thinking “well at least he won’t overdose.”  Then they are enablers and bear some of the responsibility for what happened.

Of course, having an addict for a child probably puts you in a terrible position

I doubt the Reids are cool with Britt Reid drinking as they are Mormons. Britt is 35 now and should be able to function in society without his parents watching his every move. I suspect he was hiding his drinking from Andy and the rest of the family.

What interests me is the phrase in the warrant for the blood draw "a computer check revealed ... multiple prior DUI contacts"

I think that means Britt Reid has been pulled over in KC multiple times on suspicion of DUI but for some reason, never charged or prosecuted.

Couldn't this also mean that Pennsylvania has reciprocity with Missouri and his previous DUI convictions show up in the system ?
