He has little or no trade value, so no,

Question was would you? Not do u think he has value.. If u think he doesn't have value, but an NFL GM thinks he might, why would u say no? Get something while u can if somebody is gonna pay.

(I'm not saying he does or does not have value, but if he is a piece to land our franchise qb then why not do it)

I would strongly consider it. he turns 30 this year and what do you hope to achieve with him on the roster? I really like him but I think we could use him to get more picks. this RB class is also deep.

I love me some shady and would hate to see him go, but if it comes down to trading him to move up for our franchise qb, I am all for it. Use some of the cap savings for o-line/lb/wr depth

Lol what? The Browns are a mess. These 2 players are TOTAL OPPOSITES. How can you be deciding between 2 completely different players?

Maybe they are thinking of taking 1 with 1st pick and the other with 4th pick. Then find a way to mash them together, for the ultimate qb prospect. Bills get Darnold and he still ends up the better qb than browns Mash-up lol

I sincerely hope we don’t open at NE or home against them for that matter

I would love to play New England the 1st week of season. Get one of our toughest games out of the way early in the season. They would not have any tape on our new offense(Daboll will have his own wrinkles, compared to when he was in NE). Plus, I also feel their Defense is a good start to hopefully get our offense off to a good start. Not to mention, it will be the freshest/healthiest shady will be all year. Let's catch them off guard like the chiefs did last year. And nobody wants to go to Gillette later in the year.

There’s some consideration to be made that running backs that play a 5 year rookie deal with success tend to see their next 5 years he the downslope so vet contracts rarely guarantee money deep into deals.

Between the ease of transition and the short careers it’s a position that wouldn’t bother me for that reason... or at least that framing. I would just be a little bummed about the lack of cap savings for a rookie but not because he’s particularly risky.

Good point, fair enough.. But if ur Gettleman and u stay at 2, do u take Barkley and whoever else in 2nd rd? Or would u rather have chubb and pick ur rb in 2nd rd? Just curious

What do you guy think the difference between Barkley and Guice is? It doesn't seem like a huge drop off to me.

There may be a bit of a drop off, but not an insane amount to take Barkley at 2 (when u can get chubb, the drop off from him to other DE's is more significant imo). But not only Guice, I love this rb class, i feel u can get great value in 1st few rounds

You have to take that into account when you are drafting a player. If he Turns out you will probably be paying him 17 million plus after his first contract. I personally would not take a RB high for that reason, it does not matter how good they are.

I understand the high contract after a player has proven himself in the league on his rookie deal. But highest guarateed contract at your position before even playing a down in the league, I can't justify that

I think Chubb makes a ton of sense..we just need them to pass on a quarterback. I don't care what else they do. If the Giants and Broncos take quarterbacks along with the Browns and Jets, we will be SOL. I still think they both pass on a quarterback. I still think the Giants trade down but who knows?

I agree, I too feel Giants and Broncos pass on QB, Let's hope we're right!!

  8. Drafted #2..

Say Giants select Barkley (Don’t Believe It) 2nd Overall.. Sign 4 Yr $29M+ contract fully guaranteed- 5th highest paid RB w/ largest total guarantee. 34th Overall pick will sign 4 Yr $7M+ deal w/ 75% guaranteed. Selecting RB 2nd Overall is like taking Guard there Yrs ago...

Is Barkley worth almost $30 mil guaranteed? Not saying he's not, but I would rather take a Guice, Michel, Chubb, Jones, Penny, etc.. They might be a tier down from Barkley, but they should all produce in the league. Giants can wait til pick 34 and get good value for Rb. If Giants select at #2, I see them going QB or Chubb(much harder to find stud DE than RB)

Because they pick 12. His agent probably said if you want to work him out you have to come to us, he's a busy boy and you probably don't have a chance to get him anyways

I buy this to an extent.. But how many visits has he actually had? Especially since u say bc we have pick 12.. Don't u think his agent would tell anyone outside the top 5 the same thing if that's true?

(Now I got myself curious, to see how many visits he has been on lol)

I actually just looked into it. And you might be on to something. All I could find for his pre-draft visits is cle, nyj and nyg.. nice call diggz!
