That is my ONLY thought of why I would think a deal isn't in place. But to remain optimistic, draft is 6 weeks away and typically you don't see draft trades until it's closer to the draft. But giants only have 5 picks and of course McBeane is close with Gettleman. I'm not gonna sulk over jets trade and I'm gonna remain confident in the process

  2. That speculative post last week regarding a huge trade might actually have some validity to it. I'm being optimistic that a trade for #1 or #2 has already been made and the bills and browns/giants are just waiting to release the deal. If true, the price might have went up a little with this jets trade. But I'm gonna remain confident that we trade up for our franchise qb!! Go Bills!!

I kind of liked his “aw shucks” comment. I mean does every guy have to be a boring talking head? I like his personality from what I’ve seen but thats probably just me.

Mayock complimented him on his natural throwing. What is he supposed to say? Thanks? They would say he’s so boring like Eli. He could say “Yeah I know i have the best arm.” Then people would say hes a cocky no good rich kid. He’s a 20 year old kid who gave Mayock and quirky answer. I liked it.

I think he realizes that people who have decided he’s some liberal rich kid are going to critcize him no matter what he does. I respect him for deciding to be himself rather than pretend to be something he is not.

I'm right there with ya bud. I actually like his demeanor and personality. From all the interviews I've watched of him, I don't see any reason for a team to be turned off from him. Maybe ppl think he comes off cocky at times, but I hear nothing but confidence. And at the quarterback position, if u don't have confidence, you mind as well start planning for the near future.

Not worth it with late round draft picks

I took his quote as trading our other 2nd for a 3rd this year and 2nd and later rd pick next year. If the board doesn't look good to McBeane when they pick, then I would be for a trade back. But I still say trade up and get your MLB of the future if the guy they like is there

We traded down once last year and traded up twice. We came away from last year’s draft with 6 players. I expect something similar this year. I like that this fromt office goes and gets the players they have targeted.

Good call, we had a great draft last year! I really wouldn't mind if we came out of this draft with just 5-6 picks. As long as we have our qb, our qb of the defense and some nice depth guys.

Or trade down get some pics for  next year

I hear ya there, wouldn't mind that at all. I'm just curious to where our linebackers come from, especially MLB. Unless we can resign the manageable Preston Brown or maybe Bowman. But MLB is one of the most important position's in this defense. I bet McBeane Want's their Kuechly. It's all hypothetical, but I wanted to hear from other member's if they would be for it or against it.

Good call, pimp on da' net... I was inflating the 1st rd trade up bc teams are gonna be asking for more than the value. But if we could trade up for less than I threw out there, even better!!

But those 3 picks left over are more lottery tickets than vouchers guaranteeing good players.

Not or saying it would necessarily be a bad plan, but leaving a draft in which you had 5 picks in the top 65 and 6 in top 100 with only 2 players would be tough to accept.  Still, I accept that trading up for a QB will cost at least both firsts and likely at least one 2nd.

Not that I want them to give up draft capital. I just threw this out there bc McBeane is not afraid to deal, and we gotta find our MLB somewhere.

The trade up in the 1st will be costly enough. I can't see us ransoming the whole draft on two picks basically

We have 9 picks this year. Let's say we trade for pick #3. I can see us giving up both 1's, one of our 2nd's, our 4th and next year's 2nd/3rd would prob get that done. That leaves us 5 picks to work with this year. To trade to top of rd 2, we could prob get it done with our other 2nd and 1st pick of rd 3. This would give us our qb, our middle lb and have 3 picks left over. It's wishful thinking and I wouldn't be surprised if McBeane went this route.

  9. We are all aware the bills are going after the quarterback that they are targeting with another trade up in the 1st rd. But, If Leighton Vander Esch (or another top linebacker) slides to the 2nd day of the draft, I wouldn't be surprised if Beane works the phone after the 1st rd late Thursday night and Friday afternoon to move to the top of the 2nd rd. I only see this happening if the trade up in the 1st rd involves a 2019 2nd or 3rd. This way we have more ammunition to trade up in the 2nd rd this year and grab our hand picked MLB.

I know it's quite a bit of draft capital to pull off 2 trade ups. But I would be all for it. With the few picks We would have left, they could use for lineman, cb or another rb(I just don't see us taking wr early in draft, and typically late rd wr's dont produce right away)We have mega cap space next year to fill holes during free agency.

    Thoughts??
