11/14/21 Postgame Thread: Bills at Jets
ngbills replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Tank Lots of changes. Not sure what took Daboll so long. Gilliam had snaps, sweeney in two TE, plays with an extra OL. -
Its a weird tweak this year. Not sure I like it - if the refs review it they will tell you whether you should challenge or not. But if they dont review it then its all on you? It should be all or nothing. Review every play automatically or dont review any unless challenged - well except for TD's or turnovers if they want a parameter.

I think the Jets are a good matchup for AJ. They dont have as much speed at TE or RB so he is not exposed in pass coverage as much.

Did Daboll read these boards for ideas? Funny - quick pass, extra OL, Breida. -

That was called a quick pass for those that seemed to not understand. -

Good start. Pick would have been nice. Let’s see what o shows up. -
I would feel safe saying most good teams do this.
-
I would look at those two and Osemele.

What the Ravens loss (and many other bad losses) should teach us
ngbills replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
All good points. And most driven by the dominant defense. I think this is a great team and the loss to the Jags doesnt change that. But if the issues on O cant be resolved it just makes the road much tougher because you cant rely on the D being that dominant all the time and especially come playoff time. -

You have to look at the full picture. Are your wins all very close? Are your wins due to turnovers? Are your wins due to an imbalance - really good O or really good D? Is one player performing on another level? There are so many variables. If the Bills had looked near perfect and then randomly lose to the Jags then I think you cough it up to any given Sunday. But when you have legitimate flaws that have shown up on multiple game days then it is a deficiency that needs to be fixed or you are at risk of losing to any team. Right now the Bills look more like that. There have been games with good numbers. But a lot of that was due to both the schedule and defense helping the offense out a lot with great field position and keeping the other team off the field. But the O has really struggled even in those blow out games. The OL has struggled all season. The running game has not been established. The Allen / Diggs connection has not been there. It needs to be fixed vs just thinking its nothing and all teams lose. -
Just like TB did last year with guys like AB, Gronk, Fournette, etc. Idiots its not like it helped them get a super bowl or anything. What? They did win, I thought they sucked bc all those guys were toast and they didnt even make the playoffs.
-
Like we should be. Especially when all in means some partial year rentals that cost next to nothing.
-
Isn't the goal to win it all? Even if they completely suck next year this myth around 3-5 year building process is gone. Teams can have an awful year and be back in contention a year later. I feel like its the teams that say its a 3-5 year process that suck more years than not.

Get those OL painting the fence, wax the car. Blocking do not come from here it come from here. -

A lot of things at play. I think Josh was also shaky because he was getting hit and under duress so much. That impacts the decision making and you play confused. Nothing was going right. This is where I blame Daboll - he did nothing to help. Made no adjustments like adding an extra TE or FB for protection, let alone change up the playcalling. He went out with the same play calls and formation essentially 95% of this game. -
Is the #1 seed that big of a deal anymore?

It is both the bye and the home field. Do we really want play an extra game that could very likely be against a team like PIT, CLE or even KC? -

Your missing the point that the first read can be dependent on the defense. If you see a guy lined up here, it can change the read. If the play does not allow for that then you are screwed and we need a new OC. -

Justin Zimmer to season ending IR - Torn ACL
ngbills replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
But you don’t get Webb + another player for Tribusky. Or is there another spot. Zimmer to IR was the only real open slot and that was filled with Lewis. -

Should be - Zimmer = Lewis; Tribusky = Webb; Kumerow = OBJ -
Zimmer to IR -out for year
