1. Yes teh lasyt block in teh back was ticky tack b ut waht an idiot. Price is going out of bounds having made teh first down that would have given us a shot at a game-winning FG. What a mental midget. The defender had no shot at price who was stepping out of bounds. This in addition to his earlier penalty and his drop. Start Everett. We are giveing Jp a year to see what he can do, why not the same for Everett.

On teh positive side JP is vastlky improved and we actually had some protection for him and holes for teh running backs (at least in the first half).

  2. I speculate its probably a combination of still working on the length of the deal, the gauranteed money and incentives..but I bet all three aspects are in a tight range that will offer a pretty quick resolution (2 days or so).

When it gets to this stage--negotiating in the media--things are probably pretty close to getting done.  Silence is more worrisome.

I agree: also i thought thsiu was ointeresting: "Whitner wants closer to the money Michael Huff got at number 7 because they play the same position."

Um...if he feels that he should be paid number 7 money then I guess he should have been drafted at Number 7.

Also the logic of we should make teh same because we play the same position is absurd. Should JP Losman make what Peyton Manning is making? Bring back Haloti Nagata! <_<

  3. My favorite q&a has got to be:

Byrne: Do you have any sort of chip on your shoulder over not making last season's Pro Bowl as a kick-return man?

McGee: Not at all! I didn't get into the end zone enough, but I do plan on getting back there this year.

man, that gives me chills!! GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!

    704460

this quote was also nice to see:

"Byrne: When it comes to returners, yourself, Dante Hall and Jerome Mathis are thought of as the elite. Where do you rank yourself in that group?

McGee: Just to be in that group of players is special; they have done great things in the league for a lot of years. It's an honor to be mentioned with the elite returners."

compare those quotes and his attitude and work ethic with mcgahee's and you can see why i am not a huge mcgahee fan.

  4. Once again, your quarterback is NOT going to hit those completion percentages without a strong OL, I don't care who you are. No line = no quarterback. That's why I always get frustrated when you hear someone like Paul McGuire say something stupid like, "Let me tell ya, if you give a guy like Peyton Manning time, he's gonna pick ya apart."

Hey Paul, if you give my father's second wife time, she can pick you apart too, and that's after the stupid whore takes time to give blowjobs to the receivers before they go to the line.

    702378

you are correct sir. why people can't grasp the fact that the o line is the most important unit on a team is beyond me

  5. I think the point of this topic is not about his ability as an RB, but more his attitude and intelligence, and I agree 100%.  Willis is a dumb ass if you ever watch his interviews, and the proclomation of being better than LT was just plains stupid.  I am a huge Willis fan, but you need to see him for what he is.  In terms of ability I think hes got just about as much as any running back in the league, and our line was terrible last year so I expect more out of him this year with the two upgrades we brought in with Fowler, Reyes, and I wouldn't at all be surprised to see Brad Butler starting at RT with Jason Peters moving to LT at some point in the season.

    685234

You are correct. That was my point. I didn't say he was a terrible back. I simply have very deep concerns about his intelligence and attitude.

  6. C'mon T-bone.  Our line sucked last year!  Give the guy a chance.  Two years ago he was the second coming and now you want him off the team?  Yes, I would like him to show some more enthusiasm but you can't blame him for going through the motions on a piss poor team.  We sucked last year.  Just wait until the season starts and then you'll be going to get your # 21 jersey.

    685216

I realize the line sucks and Jp inexperienced etc. But the team sucking is not an excuse (IMHO) to have a bad attitude especially when a team takes a huge risk in drafting you in the first round. I hope you and everyoneelse are right and I'm wrong!

  7. Never mind the absurdity of the cringe-worthy comments like claiming he was better than LT. This guy never puts in the extra effort, doesn't seem to give a damn if we win or lose, and now decides he doesn't need to go to the last two voluntary camps, and is (maybe--but his "i thought the Bills played in NYC" comment gives one pause) one IQ point above Travis Henry. I know what era we are in, but when a team pays you first round money to sit out your first year with your bum knee, you would hope that there would be more loyalty even in this day and age. Also, did he seem slow last year? If and when the o-line situation is ever resolved I say we trade him for a more team-oriented guy.

Ok i feel better for venting.

  8. maybe they feel that making fun of an old man makes for a good story line or they want to make their buddy donahoe look like a genius:

With Lawyer Milloy in Atlanta and Troy Vincent clearly on the downside of his career, Buffalo has qeustions at safety. However, it has far grater needs at offensive tackle and defensive tackle. Taking Whitner is a one of the biggest reaches we have seen.

    Complete analysis

1 26(26) John McCargo DT NORTH CAROLINA ST

Some picks are more difficult to explain than others. It's true that defensive tackle is one of the Bills' needs, but taking McCargo here is one of the biggest reaches we've seen in years.

    Complete analysis

  9. Let's face it, these two didn't inherit the best situation. They walk into a scenario where the owner is becoming more indifferent to the direction of his team, a team that is severly divided and the payroll was out of whack for senior players. They made some cuts without looking back and that were sensible. I don't see where Milloy is that big of a loss. What did he ever really do? As far as the lockerroom, I guess I really can't comment on his effect. I do remember that he made no bones about him and other players from around the league need to get paid. I won't hold that against him, but it doesn't seem like he was a rah-rah type of guy. Old, fat Sam Adams not only didn't fill their scheme, he's old and he was ready for the big part of his contract. Bye. Teague is no loss and he didn't appear too happy with decisions that were being made last year. Time to go.

I like the image that Marv & Co. have been projecting to the FAs that have been visiting. For the most part, the majority had positive comments about them, the team and the organization. As far as the malcontents that are still on the team, well they still have value. Here's where I think that Marv is still maintaining the nice guy image and letting them find their own level of contentment by seeking their own trade. I don't think that Clement is still a guarantee to be on the roster come the beginning of the season. If he is, then I think that he will be locked up on a long term contract. Otherwise he could be traded come draft day for a big compensation. Hello Denver!

When you look at what Marv has done so far it has been pretty subtle. He got rid of the old and replaced it with youth and good, solid role players. Keep in mind that he also has dealt with the salary cap pretty efficiently so far. He has advocated character and chemistry and there hasn't been anything so far that's been to the contrary. I think that he has accomplished an awful lot of good in a short period of time. Needless to say that we are not where we need to be yet but there is still plenty of time and opportunity left for him to fulfill his and our goals.

Could be. Nice post. Let's hope you are right.

  10. Many experts say Vernon Davis is the best TE propect in years. Given that we need a threat besides evans and o line help (a TE is part of teh o line and Davis can apparently block and catch and we have a had a string that could do neither) and this kid has a good chance to drop to us why would we pay good money to have a guy who was not even Washington's best TE? (That would be Chris cooley). I think that passing him up will be viewed in retrospect as extremely foolish. I hope I'm wrong.

  11. The $2.5M bonus spreads out over five years, and the salary could escalate through the life of the contract... Cap number this year or next probably isn't as dramatic as the total sounds...

    624728

um why did we sign a guy not good enough to start for washington?

  12. I say Coles WR (5-7 165 pounds) from Miami, or Winston LT from Miami (reconstructed knee).  Those 2 are expected to be top 10 and with our draft record will be who we get.

    537499

if we do draft a wr i think we should just rename ourselves the Buffalo lions, or cardinals. I pray that you were not actually advocating that we take a wr?

  13. I know it goes against everything you feel, and everything you are, but how great would it be to see the Pats miss the playoffs?

With a Miami win over NYJ and a NE loss to the Bucs, the Pats are still out of the playoffs. The following week brings the Fins to NE to take on the Pats. That win could bring them even in the standings.

As unlikely as it seemed at the start of the season, Miami has a shot to make the playoffs. But better, they can keep the Patriots out. The fins are not as bad as everyone thinks they are. They have their weaknesses, and mostly do not put together a full game. But when they do, lookout. Take the Chargers for instance. What a win!

So, please, I'm not asking you to cheer for the Fins, as much as I'm asking you to cheer against the Pats.

    534050

    Um ...No. Never.

  14. Offensive Line:

Chris Villarrial returned to the lineup and was called for a devastating false start penalty in the red zone in the first quarter. Mike Gandy had two false start penalties. One of them deflated the momentum of a big pass to Evans. There were no holes for the running game and Losman was running for his life most of the game. Grade F-: The reason for the inevitable demise of the Donahoe era.
