  1. Indeed. The only way the day could have gone better for Buffalo would have been for the Jets to lose (and maybe not have so many injuries against Miami). Let's hope next Sunday goes according to script as well! (Buffalo over Cleveland, New England over Cincy, Pittsburgh over Jets, Miami over Denver - If we're REALLY lucky add Giants over Ravens & Chicago over Jags).
  2. I dont know...how can it be that no one else has said DICK BUTTKISS?
  3. It looked to me like they had no choice on the play, if you think about it. They called the run the previous play and then when they got stuffed they didnt have time to change the personell grouping. There were no wide receivers on the field, so they couldnt call the only play worth calling in that situation - a quick fade to the corner. Any other pass play they could call with no wideouts on the field would have risked them taking a sack and not getting any points. So from that perspective i thought they did the smart thing by throwing it away and kicking the field goal...
  4. Oh, and as far as the O-line, they have been showing flashes of good play, especially in the second halves of games lately, today they were very good all game....well at least as far as pass blocking. Run blocking really leaves a lot to be desired, imho. I mean yeah Willis is getting his yards, but by and large he gets hit around the line of scrimmage and has to carry folks 3 to 5 yards if he wants to have a good day..
  5. Not to sound too overly optimistic but... We are on a 2 game winning streak 3 of the last 4. If the patriots lose tonight they will be on a 2 game losing streak coming into next week when we face off...how sweet will that be? A win next week would put us 2 games behind the patriots with 7 to play in that case and have us on a 3 game win streak and the pats on a 3 game losing streak... ONE CAN DREAM CANT ONE?!?! LOL
  6. I voted here in VA. Though it was like farting in the wind as my state went the other way. LOL
  7. Decent? That defense was in the top 5 in the league and though we didnt dominate them, we had very good success moving for over 300 yards on them in a wind storm! I think, especially for this offense, it was a very impressive showing. Dont let the haters get you too riled up with their nonsense. The season is still young and we are only 3 games out of a wild card spot with 11 games to go! Hopefully this will be the beginning of a little momentum, if we somehow pull of a road win against another great defense with a suspect offense next week the schedule gets a little easier (IMHO) and we might just get to .500 before you know it!
  8. Some of you Drew bashers kill me at times, i know its fashionable and all but really the guy hasnt played all THAT bad this year - considering the slipshod protection, penalties, bad down and distance and dropped passes we've endured this year on offense. I mean I know he hasnt looked like Bart Starr or anything, but if you watched all the games you can see the problem (at least this year) has been 80% line 20% Drew (at least on sacks) his accuracy and protection of the ball has been pretty good (especially if you take away all the drops we've had this year, including this game). Today, for some reason, you saw the first team that didnt blitz our O-Line like crazy (NO idea why they didnt since they had to have seen the success everyone else has had with free defenders coming unblocked and getting sacks) and therefore you saw the line look halfway decent and Drew stand back there with enough time to take a 5 step drop and actually find a receiver.
  9. I am certainly with you - despite being sick about the loss...it was a game full of positives (as far as i am concerned) for the future of this team. 1. Play calling, and coaching in general seemed like night and day better than the last regime on both sides of the ball. 2. Special teams looked solid, if unspectacular and i can only remember one penalty. They didnt do anything to kill us, except missing the field goal of course. 3. Defense looked good for most of the game, the only problem i have is that they still get about ZERO pressure on the passer when they dont blitz. 4. Offensive line did a very good job on pass protection, though they were quite often overmatched in the run game - they still put out a respectable yardage total against a top run D. (which brings us to #5) 5. The team showed it is truly committed to the run for the first time that i can remember all the preseason rhetoric was more than just a mirage! 6. DB looked very good to me, didnt make any bad decisions or do anything to lose the game (the only sack was a coverage sack when he made the conscious decision to protect the ball and scoring opportunity). Some here say he should not have thrown the ball to Moulds on the turnover, but that's nonsense, the guy who made the hit was the corner who broke off his coverage on the outside receiver at the last second, that was not something DB could have anticipated. Overall i like the philosophy and the direction the team appears to be headed in. Yes, we will have some close games this year, but i think the offense will be more potent as the season goes on and DB will be more successful against most teams because our running game is going to wear a lot of defenses out and frustrate the hell out of them.
  10. i always try to go out and stay out all night so when i get home i can sleep for a few hours and watch the game. It always backfires, because i get home and still cant sleep. It is like 10x worse than Christmas eve when i was a kid to be honest!!
  11. Power off-tackle (to the right) Moulds and Reed wide to the left (reed in the slot) one tight end on right, backs in 'I' formation... just a wild guess
  12. INT by McGee for sure. He is the real ball hawk right now. No one is going to throw too much Clements way. I think it will be McGee or K. Thomas for sure if it is an INT. A fumble, i would give odds to S. Adams
  13. Man that is a fun post. I had fun reading some of the other comments and decided to put in my .02. I am a football junkie, played at several levels, watch it avidly, even coach little league. I love football in all forms (except soccer, when they call it 'futball' it irritates me).. All that said, i do love sports in general. After football, Boxing, Tennis & Basketball are my favorites. I have very little interest in Baseball, Hockey, Auto Racing or Golf to be honest. It would be a tough decision to make, mainly because part of the great thing about liking Boxing & Tennis (also for the Golf fans out there this would apply) is that they are sports without a season. All year long you can enjoy the action. When football season is over, i have the Basketball season to pick up the slack, and the NFL draft. But after the basketball season concludes, for me there's nothing but Tennis and Boxing to watch. If there was no Tennis or Boxing (or NBA) what the hell would i do with myself from April to September? I might actually have to take my own life or something! As much as i love football and wouldnt mind seeing some other sports go away, i dont think i could say i want ALL others to disappear. -sigh- It took a long time for me to admit that to myself though! LOL
  14. I cant tell you anything about newsgroups, but i would recommend highly Shareaza and Bittorrent, also Overnet is very good, none of those programs are spyware farms. Plus there are still some websites you can go to for music like http://www.simplemp3s.com/ For spyware protection, install Ad-Aware and Spybot search and destroy (i would also recommend a major anti-virus program and a pop up blocker, i use the Google Toolbar). You can download these free from www.download.com. This set up works great for me, i am spyware free. Just dont be silly enough to let some of these sites trick you into clicking 'yes' to install xyz software or install some search bar or other piece of crap spyware remover that actually is spyware itself and you will be fine.
  15. ..as an IT guy, i am just a little curious as to what kind of machine and how much CPU/RAM you are using for the site?
  16. I have never been one to put a whole lot into the preseason games, but if you are going to do it, the 3rd game is the one to watch... Looks to me like the starting O and starting D have come out pretty ready tonight against a great test on the road in Indy. We'll see if it continues through the rest of their time on the field...
