This team really can't afford a down season next year. Going into a new stadium on a downward trend is going to make hard to sell PSL and season tickets

I wonder if they were waiting to announce the PSL's during a winning stretch that hasn't come

They were supposed to announce it back in early October from what I was told

Bills miss the playoffs then have to announce PSL's, it's gonna be a show I hope it's televised

I'd like to hear an argument that says McDermott is getting better at his job after 7 years into it. Don't most people get good at their jobs in year 3?

I'm being honest and serious. I just don't see any growth.

I think you could argue he got better each year the first three seasons but since then he hasn't learn or grown at all. If anything he regressed since year 3

Posted in the wrong thread.  Pasting it here and apologies if it's already been talked about in this thread:

I'm wondering how much influence McD had on the last scoring drive in regulation to milk the clock.  I'm guessing it was his call to "not score too fast", like he said about the Broncos game.  In my opinion, you score fast there so that you have time on the clock if you need to score again (which they did).  I think the younger coaches of the game today would have went for the score regardless of the time on the clock knowing they would be in a better position with more time on the clock at the end of regulation.

This is more just of a thought and wondering what others here think about that scenario.  Could have had more than 20 seconds on the clock at the end of the game.

I was wondering the same thing, why limit you teams strengths - offensive possessions.

Each week the goal should be to get as many possessions as possible for the offense. The team will win as the offense scores, the bills defense is just not good enough to defer to in these situations right now

Maybe that’s the one spot this guy would actually go back to. I have felt all along no shot McDermott gets fired. He fixed too much. The leaving would have to be mutual or him leaving. Maybe he would leave to go to Carolina. It’s going to become miserable for McDermott here because he lost the fans and he’s going to lose the team.

It's the perfect spot for him

Can be conservative with Bryce Young perfect skill set to match McDermott

Who the ***** is giving up something for this guy? Arizona state?

Let me introduce you to the man known as David tepper

Guy just fired a head coach (after 12 weeks on the job) and forced to draft a QB with a trade up the teams gm and coach didn't want

With how he coached in that playoff game a couple of years ago against the Bills, no thank you.  He made a number of head scratching calls and played a key role in that defeat.  I saw that game as more of Indianapolis losing, than the Bills winning.  To those that stated he's the offensive version of McDermott, that seems to be a pretty good comparison.

Can you jog my memory on the game, because I remember being really impressed with how indy played and their plan

The seasons after though he was a total disaster

  7. Why does complimentary football equate to the offense deferring to the defense? Example you have an offense thats strength is scoring and scoring quickly, on the last drive in regulation it became obvious that the bills wanted to run clock but what if you just allow your offense to score quick if they can and thus save potential time for your teams strength for another potential drive

why does the offense need to run the clock out? This has been something the bills have tried to do multiple times, sometimes hearing that the bills scored too quick. Like yes score quick and get the ball back

  8. I can't tell if the posts sticking up for the defense/McDermott saying the offense needs to be better and make more plays are trolling or it's actually what people believe

It's been 6 years of the same conservative, play not to lose, allowing late fourth quarter comeback after late fourth quarter comeback

Zach Wilson, Mac Jones, Russell Wilson and I should be including tyrod Taylor all had game winning and game tying drives against this defense (arguably the two worst starting QBs in the league, a walking meme and a back up that is average at best(

if the eagles realized they could throw the ball down field and actually used swift outside in the first half they would have put up 60 points on this defense

Me. That would be terrible. Reich would be a disaster.

Me.   Replace Reich with Brian Daboll and I’m game.

I mean we could always just dump Reich or have him be OC

But I'm nearly 100% certain if the bills part ways with McDermott, he ends up in Carolina, may as well try to get a pick/contract off the books

  10. For any worries about McDermott making it to next season

One thing I know for certain the NFL loves money, they can't be happy that a top QB that drives ratings and is healthy is likely to miss the playoffs and a Kenny Pickett or Joe flacco or Gardner minshew or Dorian Thompson Robinson or Jake Browning is gonna be in the playoffs

Folks who still want McD to stay should ask themselves a really simple question. How would McD fare with an average NFL QB and a GM that he does not control? He won the NFL HC lottery with Josh, and his GM gave him one Defensive piece after the other, after the other via the Draft and Free Agency. And we still get this this?

He's gotta go. He's just gotta go. We have to break this curse.

Honestly I think he would be about .500. he is a coach that needs to coach bad teams

He is absolutely clueless how to coach a team that is better than the opposing team

  12. Keep hearing about how should have moved on back after 13 seconds or the blown Houston playoff game

But honestly hind sight being 20/20 the move that should have been a red flag and really when we should have known McDermott didn't have it......

The guy named Nathan Peterman starting QB in the middle of a playoff push.....and then again the following season for week one
