Always been thankful for Gabe. IDK why he gets trashed so much. He by far outplayed his draft status 😂 oh and was integral in quite a few playoff wins including the first one in 25 years. He had a crappy last year here for sure
I think he just got slotted to high into the line up
If he had stayed or went back to the 4 he would have been a fan favorite for life

The bills have beaten the fans down so that we are now thankful for Gabe Davis

Can he get open quick on the outside? That would be my biggest concern
He has been a slot guy

If you're the chiefs, and bills haven't traded for a WR yet come Sunday
Would you install/call a defensive scheme for the game that allows the bills Wr's to look good?

Best case scenario is probably this:
Shaheed
ShakirPalmer
Davis
No real " #1" just a bit of an upgrade
That's actually a solid wr core, no true #1 but just everyone is solid

Hot take/conspiracy - that post game speech wasn't the first take they did, likely the second or third take for the cameras

Babich who was a great position coach and is young, seems to be struggling calling plays gets guidance and help from supervisor
In other news employers continue to train their employees in hopes they learn and handle the job hired for

I can't speak to non NFL/ non team web sites labeling edge/DE/olb but if it comes from the NFL/team it's due to how their contract labels them for franchise tag purposes
That position group had a huge issue with the franchise tag specifically 3-4 outside line backers and 4-3 defensive ends where they pretty much play the same position but the franchise tag money at one point was very different for linebackers and defensive ends

I said at wr
And Julian Edelman doesn't even have 7000 yards he's not a Hall of Famer lol
He's a slot receiver who got a much better career thanks to Tom Brady
Tom Brady had good slot wide receivers.. he had two years with Randy Moss and never really had any big time outside receivers for most of his career
So passing weapons I'm sure the greatest tight end of all time didn't do anything to help average receivers get open lol come on
Biggest myth around us the pats had bad weapons and an everyone eats type offense.... They didn't.
minus bradys last two seasons - which is a big reason he left and the divide between belicheck and Kraft and Brady

Tom Brady played with a bunch of jags for most of his career
Chris Hogan was a starting outside wide receiver for super bowl run
Did Tom Brady play with jags?
Julien Edelman - boarder line hall of fame
Rob gronkowski - arguably the best tight end of all time

What defensive help do the jags need?
epenesa + 1st?

There's something wrong there. My impression is that he took some massive hits last year from Lawrence's passes, and mentally, he's doing things now to avoid getting hit. He was a fantastic WR with Mac Jones there because Jones placed the ball better.
I legitimately think he bails out on plays so he doesn't take a hit.
He is this season, not sure why
Also has been called out publicly by his coach for it
Could be a thing where he needs a change and the jags themselves need a change
But I'm gonna get my hopes up
Dianna Russini posts story about bills actively looking for wr and safety help.....short time later jags listening to calls
It's all connected

My thing is they are blitzing hard, you have a game breaker at RB, why not line him up in the slot and just let him work against LBs on some quick slants or wheel routes?
Why do the Bills not run common sense routes against blitzes like slants?
Also, why not Coleman? He is a big body that is able to shield the defender and has shown the ability to turn those into big plays before. Like why are the only 2 routes Coleman runs most of the time a back shoulder comeback or an intermediate out route? It seems they have the ability to mix things up far more than they are.
Coleman only lining up outside is crazy, everything about the guy is slot WR
I actually think he would start to put up good numbers if the bills moved him there

If the bills don't do the following then you panic , but these three kinda simple/basic things will fix a lot
1. Defensive player calling back to McDermott
2. Upgraded corner and safety (need white to be the 5th or 6th cb and rapp to be a backup)
3. Two better WR, move Coleman to the slot/back up slot to take advantage of his size (similar to the falcons do with London) bring up Gabe Davis and trade for a speed wr like shadid or an all around guy like dj moore

It will be the most buffalo thing ever if McDermott and beane get let go while kevyn Adams continues to be employed haha
(Not a reason to keep mcbeane, just an observation. One that i could see happening)

Bourne or Jennings aren't enough. I've been an advocate of Rashid Shaheed. But he isn't enough either. It has to be Olave or some other legit #1 if one is available. No more half measures in surrounding our MVP.
I just can't see the bills making the olave move, it would be a game changer though

I don’t think that will make a noticeable difference.
That is part of the problem, a guy that was basically retired is a wash for a guy you wanted to start on a super bowl contending team
Two things that NEED to change in my opinion on the bye week
1. Tre white benched/cut/not playing
2. Babich no longer calling plays

As far as changes go I wouldn’t make any in the front office or coaches. I’d save that for the end of the season if needed.
Player-wise, Bernard gets benched. He’s too small and slow to diagnose running plays. He is constantly just out of reach of making plays. That is a sign of not being adequate.
Tre White should also be shown the bench.
Jordan Poyer, though he is slow, has some great instincts. I’d get him on the field more spelling Cole Bishop.
I’d look to trade for a wide receiver and safety.
I think playing poyer instead of rapp could be very beneficial
Rapp has been the bigger safety issue and poyer would/could play that role a lot easier than Cole bishops role

We have reached the bye week. The Bills are at 4-2 and by all accounts, playing bad football. A lot has gone wrong to start the year despite their record. What changes would you like to see during the bye week?
The biggest issue on the team today is a lack of WRs. If the Bills are to win it’s because of Josh (who isn’t playing great). Teams now just send guys and leave the receivers in man. The Bills have the worst WRs in the NFL. I’d make a deal for Olave AND a deal for Meyers or Bourne. Those would be my perimeter receivers. I’d send out at least 1 WR in the deal. It doesn’t matter which one. Shakir will remain in the slot. The position group needs an overhaul not an upgrade. Coleman being a stiff hurt. They needed him to be really good (like 1200 and 8 TDs good). He’s not even playable at this point.
Next, I’d fire Babich. This whole defense is 🗑️. I don’t have an easy fix there but anything is better. Rush Hairston back. He has to come back and play immediately. Any growing pains will just be regular plays for Tre at this point. Play Hancock over Rapp. Get the injured/suspended guys back. Sign Asante Samuel. All of that combined might make your defense have a pulse.
Just regarding wr's, they need to move Coleman to the slot full time, he just doesn't have the speed or separation to play outside but does have the size to play slot. This would become a match advantage for the bills
Shakir will be useful anywhere you line him up - maybe use him more like San Fran has done with deebo minus the running in the past. Just get him the ball as much as possible when throwing
Speaking of San Fran as they get healthy at wr maybe they would be willing to trade a Bourne or Jennings
Palmer going down early this game killed a lot of the bills game plan, guessing they were about to finally highlight him

I can almost guarantee McDermott takes over the defensive play calling
Babich being fired is a possibility

People want to fire him mid season?
And the main reason why is that he is wasting Allen?
Firing McDermott mid season is the definition of wasting Allen

Actually the bye is a perfect time to fire McDummy. Bring in an outside offensive interim HC.
I'm sorry but firing McDermott mid season is a great way to waste a year of Josh Allen

Jeremy White is a better man than I.
I would be dunking all over Beane for bullying me about the lack of investment in WR
He really can't do that, kind of 1 works for the bills and 2 needs bills personal to actually come on his show to have a job

Gabe Davis Finally activated to PS

I think the key will be getting another wr in trade, Gabe in that 3rd/4th wr option the drops don't matter as much or really won't be seen as much
