I don't think Johnson will make it, regardless. Even if you are lukewarm on Gilliam they are not going with two Tight Ends and no full backs. If he is out it isn't to allow Tommy Doyle or Stevenson to stay. If you are arguing you'd rather keep Sweeney than Gilliam fair enough but I disagree.
I think they keep three TE meaning Sweeney makes it (or a vet pick up) regardless of Gilliam.

I think Taiwan's spot is potentially a little dicey - Kumerow and Brieda are competing for it - but someone is going to have to show they can do the job at least almost as well as him. Keeping someone who is barely going to get on the field on offense as your 6th receiver over someone who is superior at gunner and will be on the field at change of possession is folly for a team in the Superbowl window. It is also not as though Kumerow is some hot young prospect. He is 29. Personally I'd always put my top 2 gunners on any roster. I suspect if Jones is still clearly in the Bills top 2 he will be on the team.
Other than Jones who that you think is making it for teams reasons do you want to cut?
Johnson has shown flashes as a edge rusher. I’m not at practice or close enough to team to know if he is about to break out or is just another flasher. I’d like to keep Addison but 6 DE is a lot. The two rookie OL are raw. We likely keep Bates but… There may be no room for a guy like Lamp (I know he’s mostly a guard and they are OT but still an OL). I’m not sure how much Gilliam adds although I like his versatility.

Do you mean Obada? I think he makes it regardless. Hamlin will make it. None of the others are so obviously better than the players you are petitioning for them to replace who play teams.
I combined Efe and Obada to get Eba?
I meant if, say, Kumerow is a good gunner and not substantially worse than Taiwan, we keep a player at a different position because Taiwan adds nothing as a RB. It’s not ignoring ST. Especially with more than a couple studs on ST.
I also think we are likely in for a surprise cut at DE because of numbers. Because of our top two rookie OLrawness, I’d like to keep an extra OL. I’d like to add a vet TE or CB. There are a lot of spots we could use a wee bit of help.

But the counter is we remain in a division with Belichick and Flores who both place extra weight on STs. I'd hate to lose a game in division on a special teams play the way we did at home to the Pats in 2019.
Of course there is a balance about how many guys you keep for teams but I at the moment I am struggling to see who the exciting non-teams playing backup we might lost to prioritise teams is.... Tyrel Dodson is the closest I can come up with?
Eba? A drafted player we want to develop like one of the OL or Stevenson? Another CB or S like Lewis or Hamlin? Christian Wade? Quintin Morris?

I value ST and I know that both McDermott and Beane very much value them. But for this particular Bills team, I’m a proponent of slightly devaluing them for several reasons.
1. Rule changes have severely reduced returns in recent years. Both ours and theirs.
2. Our KO man has a monster leg so less returns.
3. Our new punter is known for hang time and placement more than length. Less returns.
4. We just don’t punt a lot, often 1-3 a game. Less returns.
We have a couple guys already who are locks like Makevitch and Neal and Gilliam who are already quite good, we just don’t need to spend a roster spot on Taiwan Jones or even Daryl Johnson if he isn’t the DE others are.- 1

Who is they? That’s taken from the exact same report from the OP. It should be an actual law that one needs to read their own link.

Wait a minute, if the deal was being finalized, and the report was a week ago, aren’t we CLOSER to it happening?!!!!

I never visited The Ralph just to visit. But a long time ago my friends and I quite often visited Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe because they left it open back then and you could just walk around. It was awesome, but the stadium was on campus and didn’t serve booze back then during games, and they had strict checking at the gates. So our visits served a dual purpose.
We duct taped bottles of booze to the underside of our seats.

How tolerant are you of alcoholics?

Does Cole understand that he’s played for eight years in a league that every week tells him how he can and cannot wear his socks?

If he gets away with this are we gonna have to call it Cole’slaw?

All 3 of them. Come on. I'm sick of these semantic games. This is the problem with modern discourse. You can't state a simple fact without someone trying to argue it.
Yes you can.

I can’t wait until he gets an Offside penalty and yells that he is not going to be a sheep and follow all the rules just because the NFL told him he had to stand behind the goddamn invisible line!!

Why doesn’t Cole just sit and talk to (read: listen to) Tommy Sweeney for two hours instead of being on Twitter.

Silver labs aren't considered legitimate Labrador Retrievers. They can be registered and compete in AKC events like obedience or field trials but they can't be shown in the breeding conformation classes. They were only allowed to be registered as chocolate labs because the earliest dogs with this color were presented for registration with the AKC before the advent of DNA parentage testing, so there was no proof that the dogs weren't purebred. See the statement from the Labrador Retriever Club here: Silver Labs.
Josh Allen went to Wyoming not Montana.
Those bastards!

Where do we fall? The Bills OL has no continuity. Many of the names are familiar, but the top 5 I assume they want starting never played a snap together last season.
I think we fall slightly toward the smart talented side with a caveat. Our guys are mostly good pass blockers. Only Feliciano is a decent run mauler. So they were able to get quick continuity in the pass blocking scheme and it showed. But they are not individually or collectively good in the run game, so they are not good at it, continuity or not. KC has much more talented veteran guys on their line.

one of the jobs of a play caller is to not call plays that, while sexy, you know the team cant execute.
Very true. Not sure we see a lot of that with Daboll.

There's a difference between "play caller" and "play designer."
Not sure I love Daboll's play-calling.
Agree a lot with first sentence. Too easy to second guess with second. Overall I liked Dabolls play calling a lot last year. Sometimes good play calls don’t work and bad ones do.

Right, but no one is claiming otherwise. He's seeing reports of a good practice and building a strawman argument.
I think he’s just bitter but has been making the same argument for years. Buyer beware.

When you have smart, talented, veteran players, continuity is overrated. When you have meathead, marginal, young players, continuity is huge. As is coaching.

Trubisky is light years ahead of Peterman. Mitch is an NFL caliber QB. Nate is snot.
BUTT...
The writer has a point in his connection that in practice guys like them can excel because there is no real rush and the game is 3/4 speed. Both of those guys had trouble with the game at full speed and the pressure on.
Nate was historically bad, Mitch was extraordinarily average. But there is definitely a connection to be made about practice all stars not being able to do that when all the literal and mental pressure is on.

Someone said on Twitter that if the Bills trade for Julio Jones, the “Bills Jones #11”jersey will be the greatest sports apparel comeback of all time.

The window to get a late round pick was probably pretty small and all but gone on draft week.
Teams clutch their draft picks.......often a bit irrationally so.........so it wasn't going to be easy for Philly to get value here.
But why cut him now when you could even get a 2022 6th or 7th rounder.
Where are the roster battles?
