I actually think Epenesa will end up somewhere on a 1 year, prove-it type deal with another team next year. I expect that to be somewhere in the $8M-$10M range. I don't think any GM is going to hand out a bunch of gtd $$$ to a guy who hasn't consistently produced. If he shows out next year with more reps elsewhere, then he'll cash in for real.

    Bills would give him that.

    I say 3 years 24 million 12 million guaranteed.

  2. Whatever the case, my only gripe is limiting his reps. He can be on the 53 but should be a healthy scratch more. Get him better reps in practice and use him now and then, but I'd like more active reps from the other guys.

Also, gripe more w/ coaches here. They can let Von get in there on pass downs and when we have big leads. Not sure why he is in there on run downs.

    Today was a walk-through.

Even when Jones does get back on the field, he's just not going to be the same guy we saw at the beginning of the year.

Not as bad as pulling something down below on load bearing joints. He's been lifting and rehab. You might be surprised.

Brady is easily still the GOAT. I have no problem saying it. The consistency of his play might never be matched again.

A ton of what Mahomes does is fast twitch and reflexive. More is contingent on his ability to run, squirm, and move. It won't translate to a long career into his 40s.

I'd say the same about Josh. But there are a few differences that could buy Josh a couple more years. Who knows though.

We all know turnovers are a huge issue with this team, but last night made it even more apparent. I've seen a lot of people questioning Brady's playcalling or Josh needing to pass more, but the reality is turnovers are killing us the most.

I went back through every game this year, and the big picture becomes a lot more clear. Here are the results:

    Won Turnover Battle:

*WIN vs Raiders (38-10):   Turnovers 0 vs 3 (BLOWOUT)

*WIN  vs Commies (37-3): Turnovers 1 vs 5  (BLOWOUT)

*WIN vs Dolphins (48-20): Turnovers 0 vs 2 (BLOWOUT)

*WIN vs NJ Jets (32-6):     Turnovers 1 vs 4 (BLOWOUT)

*LOSS vs Eagles (34-37):  Turnovers 1 vs 2

*WIN vs Chiefs (20-17):      Turnovers 1 vs 2

*WIN vs Cowboys (31-10): Turnovers 0 vs 1 (BLOWOUT)

    1) First thing you notice is we're 6-1 when we have a positive turnover differential

    2) 4 of the 5 wins were blowouts

    3) 6 of the 7 games the Bills put up 30+ points, averaging 34.3 PPG (opponents averaging 14.7 ppg)

    Lost/Tied Turnover Battle:

*LOSS vs NJ Jets (16-22): Turnovers 4 vs 1 ("Bad" Team)

*LOSS vs Jaguars (20-25) Turnovers 2 vs 2

*WIN vs NJ Giants (14-9): Turnovers 2 vs 0 ("Bad" Team)

*LOSS vs Patriots (25-29): Turnovers 2 vs 1 ("Bad" Team)

*WIN vs Bucaneers (24-18): Turnovers 1 vs 0

*LOSS vs Bengals (18-24) Turnovers 2 vs 0

*LOSS vs Broncos (22-24) Turnovers 4 vs 1

*WIN vs Chargers (24-22) Turnovers 3 vs 0 ("Bad" Team)

    1) Surprising nobody, we're 3-5 when we have a negative turnover differential

    2) The 3 wins are against "bad" or mediocre teams, just barely escaping with a 1 score victory

    3) The Bills average 20.1 PPG in these games (opponents average 21.6 PPG)

    4) They're 1-5 if an opponent tops 20 points (Last night was the exception)

    Final Thoughts:

    1) The Bills average 14 more PPG when they win the turnover battle because those drives end in POINTS.

    2) Our defense isn't giving up an additional 7 PPG because they just suck, but because they have to go right back out onto the field & defend additional drives!

    3) We struggle against "Bad-Average" teams because we keep giving them the damn ball...

    4) We make these narratives like "if there wasn't 12 men on the field or the defense didn't choke we would've won!" But when you spot a team 3 turnovers or lose the turnover battle on the road, you're putting yourself in a position to lose anyway

    5) IT SHOULD NOT BE IMPOSSIBLE TO STRING TOGETHER 2+ GAMES WITHOUT AN INTERCEPTION

    6) Notice how the Chiefs are also struggling this year? They're tied with us for total turnovers. The only teams ahead of us are the Commanders, Jets, Browns, Vikings & Bears.

    7) We can dislike coaches, playcalling, officials, whatever... but the fumbles & INTs are what holds this team back more than all the rest combined.

Thanks for this post and the research.

I'll say this to one of your final points:

Turnovers be damned, Josh had would be game winners wrapped up w a bow and handed it over w less than 2 min the game to D or ST to seal up, and they blew it.  To your point, these were after long drives where the D was well rested.

This happened in Pats and Broncos AND Eagles games. That's 3 losses! Not to mention Jags game had some long 2nd half drives where the D had plenty of rest.

Some of Allen’s interceptions have more or less been punts on third and long. Those are not so bad and inflate the numbers. Others have been disastrously poor however and swung the momentum of entire games.

The first play int to Pats , first play Cook fumble by Cook to Broncos. And the last Fumble by Allen to Jets come to mind.

IMO the whole team has regressed due to the decline/injuries to defense...I think the defense

was vastly underrated to this team's overall success.

I don't agree here. Definitely not a good show yesterday, but there is actually improvement in many areas.

I think this version of D is very dependent on scheme strategy and adjustment. A team w not much film in the can on either side knocked us off.

The defense mostly hunkered down .

Consistently McD defense gives up in games early then usually hunkers down or harasses late.

I know we blew some games historically too. So nothing really changed.

  7. - Gotta have better 1st quarter.

    - dumb mistakes is the issue again: early drops, Penalties, and turnovers. I was hoping they had gotten over this!

Seems too pervasive. This will be a narrative of why you can't trust us to win it all, and it's a solid narrative.

    -stop turning the ball over!

    - Allen needs to work on deep ball.

    - team needs to put in some work this week.

    - Lack of pressure early and soft zone on backside early frustrating.

    - play calling was pretty solid.

    - pressure and coverage tightened.

    - Joe Brady drinks Moxie? Gross! He's weird. First off where would you even get that in LA???

Greg Cosell: Bills-Chargers Preview, Recapping Bills Dominance Over Cowboys

They have cap issues and apparently they believe someone will pick him up on waivers saving them cap - current and future.

Good stuff , until Cosell works in that line near the end again that we have limited talent.

Cosell lost all credibility w me for saying we don't have a talented team. He says it again and again and it's a completely idiotic take.

Their fans and media really have blinders on. They only look at the tomato cans they beat and disregard the obvious.

    THEY DON'T BEAT GOOD TEAMS!

This game is a big measuring stick for them. Miami's home field is not a big deal outside of the summer months and the Cowboys have enough weapons to score on what I consider an overrated defense.

Really looking forward to Week 18. Get through these next 2 games quickly and healthy and it's on for the finale.

Yeah, especially when you factor they run the ball by passing and gimmick.

    They don't have our OL.

Yeah, norovirus is the bug that hits cruise ships and thru-hikers on the AT.  It's super-infectious - only need a couple particles to getcha.  It can be killed by a good soap and hot water hand wash, but it laughs at alcohol-based hand sanitizer and gel disinfectants.  And there's something like 50 genotypes, so someone who has just had it, can get re-infected by a different strain.  It won't kill ya, but you may have 24 or 48 hrs where you wish it would.

Well, he practiced Tuesday, so, No.

I got the norovirus last spring. Really nasty.

I have watched every game for decades. Literally.

Even gotten free trials of fubo, downloaded apps, got up at absurd times to see London games, etc.

But this game isn't on LOCAL ROCHESTER MARKET because piddly little peacock is trying a money grab.

All the other "exclusives" had free trials, were simulcast on a real network, or even in the case of prime- everyone already has it. But peacock, tiny little bullschitt peacock with nothing worthwhile to offer? The NFL not only isn't afraid, they actively don't like us.

So I can't. I just can't. Sure, I could afford the subscription; but I can't positively reinforce negative behavior by the NFL trying yet another way into fans' pockets.

They will take our tax money to build the brand new stadium for a billionaire, but we can't even watch the effing game. Pathetic.

Honestly it's 6 bucks. Buy then cancel.

    It sounds like sour grapes.
