  1. In 1990.  Kelly.  In 2018.  Brady.  Simple.

The bolded is a very interesting perspective. I think that Brady has the talent to have got rid of the ball on time in those days, no problem at all. I do however think that he would have been beaten half to death by late hits. Players must pay these hefty fines themselves now so the late hits are less common.

Today, receivers own the middle. Jack Tatum, Steve Atwater, Ronnie Lott, etc. owned it back in the day and that makes a huge difference.

I do however respectfully disagree about Marino being the best of all time.

This.  Nevermind late hits.  How about being mugged off the line as a receiver.  Edelman and Welker are 5th sting back then because corners could touch you.

  2. Whether it works out with Allen or not.  He played this very well.  Work him in with the 3s see how he does.  Throw some number 2 reps in.  See how he does.  Give him second half of game 1. See how he does.  Etc etc.

He had a plan and is Josh sunk...he would be all in on AJ or Nate.  When he didn't.   You give him the 3rd game.  A dress rehearsal against real competition.  If he fails.  Nate is your starter.   If he doesnt. You have your QB for the next 10 years.

Love him or hate him.  He has a plan for everything and sticks to it.

Good luck Allen.  You may need it

Ummm... I'm not sure I would ever characterize him that way.

He wasn't Earl Campbell or OJ Simpson and straight-ahead was absolutely not the way he got the majority of those tough extra yards.

Not all the way on the other end of the spectrum like a Barry Sanders, but you get the point.

He was like bell from the Steelers.  Patient and waited for play to develop then hit the hole.

Bell is closest thing I've seen to Thurman.
