What was that hughes
-
Wow. This oline might be worst ever fielded.
-
With all the negativity today from the media and the bucky Brooks article I figured this deserved a bump. Offense will surprise tomorrow.
-
Beane is always on the move. Shady could help Pitt short term and see little drop off from Bell. We have money to extend Bell next year...
I just can't see bell playing in Pittsburgh again now that hes not reporting and team has turned. He will end up somewhere....and we have something they may desire.
-
I see a range of 3-13 with poor QB play to 9-7 with even average qb play.

Can we just play already???
This wait is killing me!
This. Mostly because I have no idea what to expect. If peterman is decent we may be decent. If terrible we are looking at the first pick overall.
-
I think it was without rain as I think ravens are waaaaay overrated but that's just me.
I think our run game is our strength and I believe we can grind it out in the rain and get a W better than most. Shady isnt afraid of the snow or rain as we know.
Thoughts? Weather even the playing field?
-
I can't wait until we beat the ravens. They won 9 games just like us last year based on Turnovers. Just like us. Have they gotten better. Not much. They suck.
Peterman 21 of 31 for 257 yards. 2tds, 0 picks, 1 win. Bill's 24 ravens 17

Is he with Jets? Seems weird we havent hesrd that scheduled.

So your saying Darnold is more likely to get hurt than Allen because of his questionable cast?
I might not of been paying attention but was the Jets' O-line also really terrible this preseason?
No. I'm saying that more mentally. Throw a guy in with big expectations and a terrible supporting cast and sometimes you get matt Stafford. Other times you get Joey Harrington. Mentally Allen wont ge broken with our approach at least.
-
The real question should be...who will be more broken for 2019. To that my answer is darnold. Darnold is going into this year like Joey Harrington was back in the day for the lions. Supporting cast questionable. Pressure on. And similar college skill sets.
If he isnt mentally tough...they could break him this year.

It worked for lawyer milloy. Just saying.

Inside intel a la Belichick
I started a thread on this exact thing. It's a good play. Practice squad foster for week 1. Sign perriman and tell him to run real fast 10 times against his former team.

Sadly I think you have the wrong QB. McCarron is the trade bait. They love peterman.
Figured I'd bring this up. Props to a few that called peterman early...but once I got on that bandwagon I called this.

Sad thing is, he is set up for failure behind a porous OL and receivers who can't separate. 8 in the box, max rush....he gonna die!
Can't do both well. They will try and stop shady which is exactly what a daboll offense needs. Quick passes and use TEs up the seam.

I agree the most on point three. It was obvious the amount of chipping from the TEs and RBs the first game and (to me at least) barely noticeable the rest of premier season. I thought it was odd.
Tough to evaluate when they are getting help all the time. So he left them on islands rest of preseason. But in week 1 it worked.
-
Why?
1. Daboll - even watch his offensive system. Quick hits, uses the backs and screens to slow rush etc. Peterman is a good QB for his system because he gets rid of the ball quickly.
2. Shady - hes the best friend of an o-line. In preseason no one was respecting the run (and Murphy made them pay a few times). No one was respecting the cutback. No one respecting the outside runs etc. When shady is in the game you can't just rush up the field like they were in the preseason...shady will take one to the house if you do.
3. 4 TEs - I expect a lot of chipping from the tight ends like we saw in the first game of preseason. We have 4 solid TEs all of which cam block...so expect a lot of help from the TEs in pass protection. Chip and release for 5 yards a lot.
Preseason is just that. The pre season. I dont think they will be near as bad week 1. Their a run blocking unit and daboll will call an offense that supports that.

Hes worth a look. Ridiculous speed and could give us Intel on ravens. Seems to happen to us a lot so why not turn the tables.

No you can't. You couldn't cover Vlad
Well it was a joke to point out that zay cannot get any separation no matter what the competition is it seems.
As for Vlad...wrong.

This is starting to change my mind as wel. But more because in the 2 games he hasn’t done anything on the field. Was thrown to a couple times but no catch. It didn’t look like he was getting any separation when I watched him. Which could be an issue. You can all the speed in the world, but if you cannot use that in your football game, it means nothing.
If not getting separation was a pre-requisite for making the team we would go into the season with 5 TEs 5 RBs and no WRs.
I could cover Zay Jones.

If its grade 2 its 2 to 4 weeks recovery. Will depend on grade 1 or 2.

Best pound for pound tackler I've ever seen

So we IR him and keep coleman and make a decision on which one to keep when ray ray is able to come back? Doubt we would keep both otherwise.
-
I think we keep coleman and zay until we can find a replacement. After the cuts we may find someone who has some speed in the slot then we part with them.
My surprises are O'Leary and vonte.
