I think it's more "Rams! Rams!" than "Defense! Defense!" The Rams-Cowboys game in LA was for all intents and purposes a Cowboys home game, and the ratings for the Pats-KC game blew away the Rams-NO game. If the Saints had been in the SB, the ratings would have been a lot higher. It's hilarious to me that the league thinks that a team in LA improves their ratings. It very clearly doesn't as of yet because people in LA largely don't care about the Rams - at least not enough to regularly watch them. Just wait until the Chargers make the SB - then you'll see the lowest ratings of all time!!
I dont think its rams or defense. Its Patriots fatigue.

Its both. Doesn’t mean they won’t keep getting better, but it’s both. Funny all year I got flamed by people for the following statements:
1. McVay needs to win something before being crowned the next king.
2. Goff isn’t as good as the stats suggest, he doesn’t handle pressure well at all.
3. Defense still matters.
4. Pats demise is over exaggerated and they are still the Pats until proven otherwise.
5. Belichick is a defensive genius. Still can’t believe how many people argued he’s an offensive HC now when they were trying to prove defense is dead.
All of that was served up on a platter yesterday for a lot of people. Funny, I seriously doubt that any of them change their mind and probably still dispute all of the above even now.
This is more my point. People were naming him the next great coach and I just haven't seen it. Calling a gimmick play or going for it on 4th or faking a punt are great when they work...but not necessarily the greatest decisions.
And goff. Hes bottom 10 starters in my opinion.

Because the youngest head coach ever to lead a team to the super bowl was beaten by the ? coach and QB?
Thats overrated?? Or is it just a damn good start to his career?
No because everyone is clamoring to hire someone in his mold...give him Oakland or Bill's roster and see how good a coach he is.

I went away yesterday thinking I'd rather have Josh Allen than Jared Goff which is crazzzzzzy!
Me too actually. Given a defensive performance like that and the weapons they have. Allen wins that game.

For me it's a toss up but I'd say mcvay. He has done a decent job but has also blessed with a ton of talent on the team. His in game decisions are questionable. All playoffs he has thrown more than needed because he outsmarts himself. But that's just me.
I'd guess if they ran anderson and Gurley every play they could have mustered more than 3 points and their QB wouldnt have gotten killed.

Why do you assume they plan on spending all their cap space? Some of it will roll over into the next year.
My point is they are never going to spend it all so cutting everyone to get more isnt worth it necessarily.
And ps. I am not saying I want this. I've been saying cut shady for months.

They are beyond useless and overpaid and I would really have to question our GM if EITHER is on the team next year.....
I don't disagree...just looking at it from a different angle.

Now first off. I'm for cutting both of them due to lack of production and high costs. But as I thought about it...a few points came to mind.
1. We are soooo young as a team. We had first and second year players playing more snaps than anyone in the league and we have 10 draft picks to get even younger. With kyle retiring we have very little vet leadership left and McCoy is one of them.
2. Are we really going to be able to spend 90M in cap space? Let alone 100 if we cut these guys? There aren't that many big free agents we can get at positions of need to eat up that much space. So why cut 2 vets to save space when we can have them play out their next year and then take them off books when we need more space.
3. Supporting cast was terrible so having allen with another year under his belt and a better oline might make these guys better.
4. Chance we could get something for them mid year. So we aren't cap strapped so keep them and see what happens. A few teams needed backs this year and clay could fetch something for a team in need next year.
5. They could restructure and have less of a cap impact.
6. Mentors for draft picks. These guys could groom their replacements for a year since we will likely draft both a TE and RB.
I'm all for cutting dead weight but the lack of vets on a very young team that will be drafting someone in these positions might make it compelling to keep them especially since money isnt an issue this year.
Thoughts?

Count Vander Esch benched?
He should be. Hes getting exposed.

Man he gets his hands on the ball a lot due to his size. He could have had 4 or 5 picks.

So if sucks, what does it say about McDermott, who has a worse winning % than Gase?
He hasn't been in the middle of a tear down. They were supposed to be set up for success in miami and he squandered it.

Win for us. He sucks

His name was Jeff Fisher with the Rams. The same coach that had 90% of Fans calling Goff a bust.
I'd like to agree since I think foles has a good history without Fisher but when I watch him I see a very cerebral guy that needs time to pass or a very specific offensive system to be successful.
-
I give them credit for finding him more than giving them grief for him leaving. He didnt want to be in buffalo. Plain and simple. The fact that they found him as an oversized te (wasnt he undrafted) is most impressive.
-
Without an oline Foles is average at best. Hes a statue in the pocket for the most part. I like him but there is a reason he was terrible outside philly.

I was going to say with his size and ways he uses it to high point the ball that he reminds me of Dez Bryant.
Moulds could fly. He can not

Looks like. Leaner KB. Not too fast but back make contested catches and a big body
-
Agree. They should have gone for it.
Harbaugh done if he diesnt make the switch to flacco now.
-
Wow. We have very little tied up in QBs. More to spend elsewhere.
-
This stuff is why the Patriots and Steelers have been able to stay on top. Ben was already making less than a bunch of QBs now he's going to restructure and extend and take even less likely from a cap perspective. For a team too have longevity in the league now this is what has to happen.
Rodgers and ryan and Stafford making 30M means the team will suck.
Hopefully if they really want to keep McCoy he will do the same. 2 years at less money and we save the cap.
This is one reason I like McDermott team guys as I think they would do the same.

This is easy. He throws to the right without squaring shoulders. Fix that and it's fixed.

Good summary. My concern is, if he isn’t the run stuffing thumper, than how the is defense going to stop running attacks like we saw in New England? He definitely needs to improve in this area
Milano missing hurts there. Hes more that guy. Especially sideline to sideline where Pat's ran on us.
Who's more overrated...goff or mcvay

Btw. Goff's duck that fell incomplete to a wide open cooks was pathetic. I make that pass and I'm all washed up. It too forever to get there.
