This.  I turn off GR at 3pm, it's unlistenable.

It is....ironically as bad as Schopp is to listen to, his partner Bulldog is worse.  I can’t listen to him.

Those two stink.  Can’t listen to them.

  2. So many posts hear about the many struggles that the bills have had this season. It’s very easy to point out what the problems are with this team. But the bigger question is how do you fix these problems.  so many posts hear about the many struggles that the bills have had this season. It’s very easy to point out what the problems are with this team. But the bigger question is how do you fix these problems?

Let’s start with the offense of line. The play for many of the games this year have been offensive. But again how do you fix this problem? Many have suggested taking Connor McDermitt and using him to replace Jordan Matthews. How about removing John Miller and replacing him with Wyatt Teller? But as you saw today when McDermott was there he was absolutely owned off the edge. So how do you fix the offense of line?

Bills quite possibly have the worst wide receivers in the NFL. They either are invisible Zay Jones nine factors like Andre Holmes or drop passes when they get a chance to make a play like Kelvin Benjamin. So what’s the solution here? Do you honestly think that Rishard Matthews could give this receiving team a boost? And would you try to draft pick to bring him on the team? What is the solution at wide receiver?

Remember I’m looking for solutions for this season. We’re not talking next year. So any suggestions that you have make have to occur over the span of the next few weeks.

And any suggestions that you may have to be realistic. It’s not like you can just trade for a Julio Jones.

So take a chance and come up with the best plan for the Bills moving forward

Everyone wants to whinge but no one has a good, realistic solution.

While we’re going at it here. Im betting you were one of the guys that loved Sammy and wanted to keep him. How’d he do in LA last year with a real QB?

Overall i I still think Mathews has better career stats than Sammy at this point if your going by games played.

Not at all.  Trading Sammy was the right move for the team.  I’m just not buying the narrative that some of you want to believe, that Matthews is a good WR in 2018 after a series of injuries.

Also Brady tends to like WR’s that are actually good.  Maybe that’s why he was cut

He is. He’s able to get playing time on a team with way more talent than the Bills but somehow he isn’t good enough for this team?

No...he wasn’t very good last season

Well, he's now available--and Beane is still paying him, so...

Who cares?  His dead money is small and will hardly have any affect for the Bills this season.  But again, emotional fans want to rip GM Beane for no reason

Personally, I don't think it is a big deal. However, in fairness to the OP, it does appear Vic was referencing last Sunday:

"2. The defense has awakened from its six-quarter slumber.

The secondary deserves major kudos for its ability to throw a figurative blanket over the Vikings’ dangerous receivers. The ultra-tight coverage throughout the game frustrated Kirk Cousins and caused him to hold the ball longer than he wanted. That allowed the Bills’ pass-rushers to apply considerable pressure that resulted in four sacks and an astounding 40 pressures, according to Pro Football Talk.

Tre’Davious White is steadily establishing himself as one of the NFL’s better lock-down corners. Phillip Gaines more than held his own on the other side, and Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer are back to the form that made them one of the league’s better safety combinations in 2017.

That collective effort on the back end had everything to do with end Jerry Hughes having one of his better games as a Bill."

I didn’t read the article.... it would seem that this was an error I that might have gotten past his editor

  6. Sometimes it takes more than a season or two to determine how good a QB is going to be.  Look at an RG3 who had a breakout rookie year but was never the same after teams caught onto him and after his injury.

Also, I was around for this but Ken O’Brien has a breakout 2nd year, made it to the Pro Bowl and helped the Jets to the playoffs.  But after that he was largely an average QB.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but Phillip Gaines hasn’t played since being injured in first game. Wasn’t it Ryan Lewis that “more than held his own”? So Vic wrote this incorrectly and editor missed it. I don’t think there is one person on this site that would have made this mistake. It’s not really a big deal, just sloppy and lazy.

No I think Vic is referring to his performance overall, starting in training camp.  There were some who questioned whether he’d even make the team, but his play was solid enough to earn a spot and to eventually push Vontae Davis out of the starting lineup.  Aside from a really bad ply in Baltimore his play was also decent.  So I think this is what Vic meant

Agreed. Polian alone carries enough clout to be taken seriously. I said earlier in the thread, I wouldn't be surprised if they were absorbed by the NFL as an official developmental league. I'm sure there have been off the record conversations about it already.

It would actually be a perfect development league for player that are on the fringe of making a low-end roster spot.

What a surprise...after this thread dropped down to Page 3 or 4 when everyone lost interest in it, who comes back to bump it up...Mr. LAMP.

There never was a bet.  We all know it, and now the poster is hiding behind "no comment".

Awesome hole you've dug yourself into.  LOL

Is it just me?  Or does anyone see a pattern in the type of members who accuse others of writing a “LAMP” post or “bringing down the quality of the board?”

The signal caller’s unpredictableness with his feet is putting pressure on opposing defensive coordinators. The solution could be for these defensive minds to place a spy on Allen. The QB would be all right with that.

“I don’t know if they’re going to tell them to come after me or have one guy sit back. All I know is that if there’s one guy sitting back, it’s better for our offensive line and protection, and it’s better for our guys getting open. We just have more time,” Allen said.

If teams were to employ a spy to watch Allen, that would mean one defender would be eliminated from rushing the passer or dropping into coverage. The shadow player would alter his responsibility on several instances to solely watch Allen. The hope would be to contain the signal caller from breaking the pocket and scampering for large gains. It could actually benefit a player such as Allen, who can take the extra time to find an open receiver. But that’s easier said than done.

Yes they will.  Strategy will be to keep him in the pocket and make him throw.  Same scheme that limited Tyrod and Douglas Flutie

Regardless of whether or not the bet was ever placed, it did provide for some entertaining fodder on both sides leading up to the game, sparking a voluminous amount of posts as to the wisdom of doing so, that’s continuing even now, although not nearly as much fun as it was day of, devolving into nothing productive. When does admin propose to finally put this and the other threads tied to it, out of its misery?

I would be fine with moving on and closing this tread

I questioned the validity of the bet.  you have shown no proof you made the bet.

You can take that as an insult or a chance to prove me wrong.    w/o proof your claim will always be suspect

prove me wrong and I will apologize for doubting you.

Posts like yours bring down the overall quality of the board.  As I stated earlier -  I have no comment on that topic.  Back to hearing you complain about Coach McDermott and GM Beane only to sheepishly change your tune a few days later

LeysLet’s focus on football. Let’s talk about the great job that coach McDermitt and GM Beane are doing. Enough of this fighting let’s focus on football

If you are referring to me as Best Player Available did above, I hade have nothing outlanding about Tyrod.

Also to @Best Player Available instead of crying about what you consider to be “LAMP threads” why don’t you contribute to this community without insulting other.  You are entitled to an opinion as far as what you like and don’t like - but your just one of many.
