Most to the point and simple answer I can give, while White was in the game the Pats did nothing through the air and Mac Jones was running for his life. I think White's knowledge, size, awareness, and ability to be physical without getting a flag all make him a big difference maker.

First half I saw a lot of White. Second half Jackson was playing where White was before. White was looking good. -

What I think people don't realize with Edmunds is that in the attacking (vs the run anyways) defense we play that when you do get blocked up or a LB isn't perfect you get chunk runs sometimes. Edmunds is great (so is Milano) and they make great plays most of the time but you will definitely have some snaps where they give up a chunk run. That said they make some great negative plays against the run and on the flip side our pass defense doesn't work anywhere near as well without him. -

I was in the 300's but by the third quarter Gillette was probably 40 percent Bill's fans left and by the 4th you could here "Let's go Buffalo" ringing throughout the stadium. -

NFL network is replaying it at 3. Going to DVR it and watch it (even though I was at the game ) -

Major difference is White is back and we can cover long enough for our pass rush to chase QB's. Defense looked like it can stop a team from throwing again. I haven't felt that way in weeks. I saw White out there a lot in the first half and Pats had nothing. I'm not picking on Jackson here but second half 30 was where 27 was and started seeing more plays pop. Edmunds is so big and active run or pass. Having him is huge. I suspected for some time that our pass rush wasn't getting home because QB's always had somewhere to throw the ball. Now they don't and all of a sudden we are chasing QB's around the backfield. Offense is perfecet in my book. Speak softly and carry a big stick. We run the ball, keep the clock running and let Josh make some throws. We get in a dog fight or 2 minute drill then let Josh completely take over. -

Just got home from the game. By the time the game ended there were more Bills fans in most sections than Pats fans. Hell by mid 3rd quarter NE fans were leaving in bunches. The defense looked much better. Offense looked solid. Love the lean on the running attack from the last several weeks. -
The whole "it's not the size of the dog in the fight but instead the fight in the dog thing" is a great cliche but in today's NFL you need a good size dog in that fight. Levi wasn't the fastest but he was still six foot something and could compete on jump balls and stick his nose in on tackles. Jackson seems to know the system and is willing to do whatever it takes but playing as our #1 CB he's outmatched physically almost every week with mostly rookies manning the other side it's not like we can focus on helping any one CB. Add in Edmonds being out and even the middle is suspect. Have to admit it was nice to see Klein out there. He's not Edmonds in coverage but the guy can tackle.

NFL Week # 11 - Browns at Bills (Detroit) - Post game thread

I will say (because I've given the pass D some crap) that our regular (1st 3 quarters) defense was for the most part pretty good. We stopped the run and made some other stops. What scares me is whatever we are doing in the 4th quarter. The fact that it has happened with or without injuries makes me think it largely lies with the coaching. -
26 points in the 4th quarter the last two games. Both games we had big leads. I'm not a fan of prevent even when played well. By played well I mean keep everything in front of you and give up small gains to keep the clock running. We play a prevent where we let them drive the field on 3 or 4 plays and give up 15 and 20 yard gains. I get that we have injuries but this is still the NFL and even back ups should be able to play a well coached prevent. I'm actually more worried it's the coaching than the injuries.

I would agree but would add we should at least try to run. So many games we have one or two carries in an entire half (almost the whole first half in this game). Working well or not working well the rbs should get more carries. -

Every completion is over 10 yards and we know they are throwing every down. The jury is in and they have declared we have the worst prevent D in the NFL. -

Six field goals is six drives that didn't end in an interception or a fumble and we got points. It's still a step forward from the last 3 weeks. -

So when Cleveland gets the ball back how about we don't give up a bunch of chunk plays and try to look like just because we don't have our starters we still know how to play defense. -

I'm with you. Run the ball and play defense. We've scored almost 30 points and Josh has less than 30 passes. -
