I would argue that some people are too rigid in their terms of debate and try to score arbitrary points rather than discuss matters more holistically in a less binary way. But that's just me.

Sanders was very likely the 49ers pick (as Gunner pointed out). And Collins was next pick at DT, so he would likely have been gone by 56 as well. Beane wanted a DT, and got a good one. And only moved back from 62 to 71 (plus lost a nice early 4th rounder, but trades have costs).

Here come the draft value experts on cue. Sanders is a disruptor who can line up at 1T a little bit less run-heavy downs, but can really rotate in with Oliver as well.
