  1. The only players I can see with the numbers to make it as All Pros this year are Poyer and White.  Edmunds is getting a lot of positive feedback recently but he hasnt impacted the game in terms of sacks and ints.   He may be playing better, but his stats are a bit below what he put up last year.    Milano is probably my favorite player on the team, but again he doesnt show up heavy on the stats which I think a lot of national writers look into.

The Bills are playing really great team football right now.

  2. Havent bought a jersey in a long long time.   I think my last was Posluszny.    I am in my mid thirties now and something about wearing another guys name on my back, who happens to be younger than me feels a little strange.   That said, if I bought another one I would only buy a former long time player like Kelly or Thomas.    May go for something novel like the aforementioned Bryce Paup jersey, I think those are at the very least a conversation starter.

Otherwise live and let live.   Very weird for any grown man to be putting another person down for their choice of sports wear.

@Alphadawg7 was basically right. I said multiple times that this thread wasn't that wild a prediction. I thought Zay would make week 1, he did, but I never thought he was safe and there was always a chance Alpha's prediction came true.

It comes down to catching balls and somewhere in the 59 pages of argument here I did a comparison between Zay and every other receiver taken in the top 3 rounds of the last 3 drafts. His catch % was 2nd lowest among them. The string to his bow that kept him here a little longer was the run blocking. Once they felt they could get that from Duke with minimal drop off it was good night Vienna.

A 2021 5th rounder (discount a round per year into the future) means Zay has basically 7th round value in today's NFL. He isn't even certain to make an NFL team beyond this season.

And it comes down to what Alpha always said it did..... he just doesn't catch enough balls.

To use a Duke Williams term.  Zay doesnt have enough Dog in him.  Hes a big body kid who needs to be used in the slot because he doesnt do well with contact.  Glad we got a 5th.

  4. Bakers GM did him no favors  by trading away their best olineman in the Odell trade.   Rather than stockpiling wideouts and runningbacks they should have considered trying to find a real left tackle.  Baker was horrible last night but he was also running for his life behind that hideous excuse for an oline.  Not like SF was doing anything crazy.  Brought one safety into the box and cheated the other to Odells side and sent everyone and their brother up the gaps.  If Larry the Cable Guy calls some roll outs to that side or the oline blocks maybe they can get the ball to their other high paid diva.  Cleveland is proof that you can have all the sports cars in the world but when its time to do work youre going to need a few diesels.

  5. Allen is on pace for over 4000 yards passing 26 total touchdowns and 22 picks.  Over the last 40 years only two Bills qbs have had better seasons Kelly in 89 and 91 and Bledsoe in 2002.

Still not a huge fan of Allen but wondering if this changes anyones thought on him or if its a larger reflection on how bad the qb play has been here?

If you can get Shaq Lawson to agree to a similar contract to what Trent Murphy agreed to which is around the $7M a year range, I think you look at other options.

With that said, I'd really like to have him back.  He certainly is an overall productive D Lineman.

He is a decent rotational player but is nowhere near worth $7 Million a year.   If you can sign him for somewhere in the range of 3.5-4 Million a year similar to Chris Smith from the Browns go for it, but I wouldnt pay a penny more.

That was some crap. The "penalty" on Jackson was just an atrocious call. Steelers defender form tackled the guy and now that's roughing the passer as well.

It seems to get worse and worse every year. These morons have such a heavy impact on some games and they're just not getting the calls right. And what the hell's the point of review challenges if that idiot Riveron sticks with the call on the field 95% of the time? Useless. It's making the game hard to enjoy because any time there's a big play my first instinct is to look for a flag instead of cheer.

It's almost like they assume penalties instead of watching with their eyes.   No fun for sure.

I watched him a few times. He did have a great senior year but stats didn’t tell the story. That was the knock on him. He was erratic. He was wild. His streetball game wouldn’t translate. I didn’t just mean his passing was erratic and that’s probably my bad. His game was erratic. He would have been way higher rated if he wasn’t.

Watched him very closely that year.   He seemed like a system air raid quarterback.  His footwork was God awful and he didnt seem like the type of player who would translate to the NFL.  I loved Watson coming out, and hated Mahomes.  I was, way way off.

Guess you missed the part where I twice said UDFA and LOW round draft picks.  They did a whole thing this year about it on ESPN in the offseason where it was close to half the league and showing how important late draft picks and UDFA are even though the general incorrect assumption by fans is that they aren't as important.

Just the UDFA alone listed in that article would represent nearly 30% of the NFL.  I would say thats a pretty important piece of the NFL wouldn't you?  And again in both my OP and reply I specifically stated low round picks and UDFA...not hard to imagine another 15 - 20% coming from late round picks given nearly 30% is from UDFA right?

Sorry, my original statement is fact, and not made up.  You did accuse me of blindly making it up even though you clearly had no idea if it was true or not.

As far as the PS stuff, yeah we can agree to disagree.  I stand by the fact its foolish to dismiss PS players and just blindly assume they dont have something to offer if given the chance on the active 53, maybe even more so than someone currently on the active 53.

My point wasnt that ps had nothing to offer or that they werent better if given the chance.  My point was that in reality, not hypthetically, they are currently not better given the opinion of the gm and coach who employ them.  The people who see them everyday, the only people with an opinion that counts about them are keeping them on the bench.  Therefore given their current status they are not better than the players om the 53.  They are potentially better.  I also said id love for them to bring Duke up.  But they havent to date so he as of today is not more rosterable than Zay Jones

No it is a fact, and was covered on ESPN.  You just made up off the top of your head that it isn’t true.  Maybe do some research before accusing someone of making something up?

    For example:  https://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/one-staggering-stat-shows-how-important-undrafted-players-are-in-the-nfl-090516

And that was just UDFA, I said late round and UDFA players.

Second, players are on PS because there is something to the coaches are still working on with them or there isn’t a roster spot yet for them.

Duke is on PS primarily because he had no ST experience and they kept McKenzie because no other WRs had any ST value outside of Roberts and the WR they needed HAD to be able to also play ST.  Brown and Cole will never play ST.  Zay and Foster has never played ST either.

Additionally, Duke has to adjust to the NFL game still and work on relearning how to get off the line as the CFL is totally different.

Just because hes on PS does not mean he isnt as good or better than someone on the active roster.  It means he may not have been ready on what they wanted to work on with him, but doesn’t mean he is a worse player.

    A.  Your article is from 2016.  There are close to 1700 players in the NFL the subset they showed wasnt close to 50% so again its your opinion you dont have actual statistics.

    B.  If a player is on the PS because they still need coaching they are not as good as or as ready to play as a player on the 53.  Agree to disagree.

    This is just not accurate.

Foster was better than Zay last year after he was brought up mid season from PS.  Once Foster came up, he grossly outplayed and out produced Zay.  Putting up over 200 more yards than Zay over that 7 week stretch, including three 100 games, something Zay has yet to do in 35 career games.

Some of you people really do not understand PS players at all and make these inaccurate boasts that being on the PS means you “aren’t as good” as someone not on the PS.

Many of you make these inaccurate claims too with late round picks and UDFAs too saying “if they were so good they would have been drafted or drafted sooner” even though half the NFL is made up of late round and UDFA players.

I understand the practice squad.  Whether in reality they are better than the guys on the 53 or not, in the coaches opinion, they arent.  Thats why they were subject to waivers for any team in the entire NFL to pick up before they were moved to the practice squad.  Duke may very well be better than Zay Jones, but at this point in time he has shorts and a hoodie on during games, and not a helmet and jersey.

Also that bs stat about half of the NFL being made up of late round draft picks and UDFA is something you literally made up off the top of your head, its an opinion not a fact.   The fact is, 32 teams, including the Bills dont think Duke Williams is good enough to play on Sundays.   I would love for them to call him up, but they havent.
