Any WR we're talking about at #28 I would feel better taking after a trade down (I know you like Legette enough to just take him at #28). But at the same time I think we just have to be willing to accept maybe not getting a 100% perfect value at #28. Let's say no teams wants to trade up with us. If it comes down to slightly reaching for a WR or taking another position entirely I will still take the WR and in my mind it's not even a contest.
I agree with the premise but have you seen the run of WR needy teams at the top of round 2? I think there are 5 of them between 33-38 so trading back behind those teams seems very sub optimal to me. -
Bears should take which of the big 3 WR are left at 9 to pair with Caleb and they can grow together .
Would be the best thing they could do for their franchise QB development

Running back is a real need for the Bills IMO
But this is the worst year to draft one for two reasons.1. It’s a horrible RB draft class of epic proportions. It’s a huge bunch of JAG types. Next years class is LOADED with talent.
2. We don’t quite know what we have with Cook yet. If he establishes himself then maybe a mid round guy next year, but if he shows he can’t carry the load or isn’t up to par we need to invest in one high next year.
Those are my reasons to wait on RB until
next year.

I’ll say it again like I’ve said before, we don’t have the cap space for Aiyuk or Higgins . No point in discussing

You two seem to be the resident Coleman fans. Can you elaborate what you like about him and how he’s going to be successful at the next level? And why he is worthy of pick 28?
I’ve been vocal about my disdain for Coleman and why he is not worthy of being picked in round 1 with all the red flags I see, however I’m always open to ideas and seeing new perspectives on players .

Outside of Kincaid and Shakir, no one on team is a good sure handed receiver.
Considering those two guys were picked up in the last two drafts it’s clear it’s part of the draft philosophy when it comes to pass catchers . -

I vote Coleman even though I know he has no chance of winning. I really like Franklin but I can't help but think about all our recent playoff losses where our small-ish WRs have gotten pushed around by physical DBs. I want to make that a point of emphasis in this draft.
If this scenario played out in the real draft I would love to take Coleman here then trade up for Franklin. Entirely avoid having to make the difficult choice.
Franklin is 6’2 but he has the frame to add some size and muscle. My guess is that he would top out close to 190 which is totally fine -

I think teams knowing the Bills need a WR might make the Bills need to be erratic and trade up just to catch people off guard. Right now, the Bills have a bright neon sign over them that screams "drafting a receiver"
When reviewing tape, I look at how a player separates off the line and how they catch the ball with their hands. I also only really watch highlights against ranked team. In college, getting open or catching a deep ball means nothing to me. That receiver could be playing against a nobody.
Agreed. Which is a huge reason I really hope it isn’t Coleman. He can’t separate vs college guys how is he going to do it in the pros? Also what has Beane said in the past about the combine? It doesn’t matter to him as much as film does which is why Franklin is still likely high up on their list .

Franklin and Coleman are so different to me. I picked Franklin because I can visualize him making a lot of plays in our offense. With Coleman I visualize like a better Gabe Davis, which to me is probably not enough. But I like them both.
And worst yet Coleman is likely best suited for the slot position at the next level -
I still want to trade up for one of the top 3 guys. A young elite WR to spend his career with Josh would be perfect
I also think it’s Odunze the Bills would love. High, high character and work ethic with incredible hands. The most all around WR in the class

With what cap are we signing him to a monster contract to?
Thats my point about those that suggest Aiyuk or Higgins.
Money wise it’s not happening

I just don’t think we can drop out of round 1 and still get an impact WR. All the teams at the top of round 2 have big WR needs so we would be left with scraps if we move back to about 40
Not a good idea imo

Well this is just flat out not true. Even his critics would say those are his two best traits.
Not from what I’ve studied. And just because YAC is his best trait doesn’t mean he’s good at it.
I’ve said all along the last 6 months, Coleman is Gabe Davis 2.0

If we take Coleman at 28 I’m going to barf. Hes on the do not draft in round 1 list but I’m confident we aren’t taking him. He doesn’t separate, he’s not the best YAC and his hands are suspect. We know Beane has talked about those 3 things many times .

I was around then, and the red helmets are fine for once a year. I like the white helmet better. The charging Buffalo stands out more on the white helmet. The Bills have great uniforms with the exception of the POS looking all blues and reds.
I guess for me those runs made a huge impression on me and I love the 90’s reds- 1

Gee I hope they do something completely new. I was never a fan of the red helmets
Were you old enough for the SB runs? Because I feel like those that don’t love those iconic uniforms weren’t around for those runs.
Maybe I’m wrong though!

The one thing about Legette is he had a lot of manufactured screens and plays to get him in space with the ball. Something to consider

We have too many needs to double dip early. I do think we are taking one in the first two rounds and possibly late but I don’t expect two to be drafted in the first thee rounds

This is the quite the loaded statement

As long as we don’t draft Sam Hartman.
I don’t want my girlfriend wanting to come to the game

With the new rules of being able to elevate a 3rd QB from the PS on game days I actually think we might take a QB late.
It makes sense to do so and try and develop someone
