It’s clear with all the rotation of power backs we’ve brought in that haven’t gotten it done that we are interested in drafting one
Its a shame we aren’t waiting until next yer though when the class is infinitely better than this historically bad class

Yep.
If this is the route they're going, I hope they at least draft a couple receivers. I'm fine with volume over a classic "WR1", if that's what they wanna do, but...this receiving corps needs not one, but TWO talented youngsters added to it for that to work, IMO.
Rookie
Samuel
Shakir
RookieHollins
Shorter/Hamler/etc
This method only works if you hit on those guys like GB did thoughPersonally I want to go and try and go and get an elite guy.
I think people are understanding the amount of attention Diggs drew each game with the D’s top corner and usually a safety coming over the top to help.
It’s way easier to play a shell coverage against us now

Again I don’t want to draft Hartman because I don’t want my girlfriend wanting to join me at Bills games

Have you watched much of him? I've only seen a few clips. I was warming up to the idea of him maybe second round if Buffalo went DE or something in the first, but then I'm hearing that he's projected to be good and reliable but not great. And then there some injuries I guess. I'd be interested to hear more about him from others than the media I guess. Thanks! Go Bills.
Incredible route running and ability to create separation. The best in the class. He comes with 4.39 speed and can play inside and outside. But his size and injury history is concerning. He also seems to struggle on deep throws and there are questions about whether he can be that X receiver
Hes an ideal early 2nd round pick imo

0%??? C'mon, who put out that ridiculous number.
And how do they factor in the plays (which were a much larger percentage for Coleman) where he is intentionally running to the defender? This is by design. FL had many more plays where they ran Coleman to what they called the "heels of the defender".
That number was confirmed by Matt Harmon I believe- 1

Other than Harrison and Odunze, Ladd McConkey as the safest WR to draft .
At minimum you have a high end slot guy with good work ethic, character, ability to separate and hands.
If he’s able to work as an outside guy then you will have hit a home run.

The more I think about it the more we aren’t taking a WR round 1 barring a trade up for one of the top 3 guys.
The rest of the group have so many other issues with each prospect and we’ve brought in a bunch of round 1 guys that aren’t WR’s into the building.
Tells me that unless we get one of the big three , perhaps we move up a little in the 2nd to grab a WR which helps mitigate the risk/reward (with regards to draft capital if he busts)

I oddly think he could be used as a "big slot" type (spare me the "your mom" jokes here please). When you watch him run drills he's surprisingly fluid and agile. Maybe he'd be better off on the move than as a boundary receiver.
I agree but we don’t need a slot. We already have two of those guys -

Visits, YAC ability, biggest WR in the first two rounds, very willing blocker, gives maximum effort all the time, type of person they draft.
Coleman is a very explosive player and plays faster than his 40 time. He’s a high level two sport athlete. Too many people are pegging him on the 4.6 40 but got up to 21 MPH in his gauntlet drill
I just don’t see how you can look past his 0% separation rate against college DB’s and think he will be fine against NFL corners.
Massive red flag to draft this guy in the first two rounds

Moving up for one of the top 3 continues to make a lot of sense….

The way the tea leaves are trending imo are Troy Franklin or Keon Coleman. I know that’s not popular around here nor am I saying they’ll be the pick at 28 but that’s the way it looking to me.
There has been no indication of a private workout or top 30 visit with Legette to this point which doesn’t disqualify but I have to think they would bring in every WR they were severely interested in. Maybe it leaks out that they did bring him in
What tea leaves are saying Coleman? Beane has spoken about explosive plays, excellent hands and getting openColeman has none of those

I haven't really looked at it, but how much worse is it than QB4 in this draft?
Worse in my opinion but it’s still early and at this time last year not many were talking about Daniel’s as a high end QB so things do change.
I also think if you are in the range to draft a possible franchise QB and you need one you need to take that chance . Next year is not always a guarantee

First and foremost, Schoen should trust his evaluations of the QBs in this draft. One of the worst things a GM can do is to allow need to distort his evaluation of a player - especially a QB. Just because you have a need doesn't mean that there's a player who can fill it. It happens every year though. Honestly, their best option might be to tank this season after they acquire more draft capital in the 2025 draft so they can get their guy then.
Problem is that the 2025 QB class is trash -

I’m taking Nabers off my board.
I think Odunze is the target anyways if we are moving up assuming Harrison is gone
He clicks all the boxes especially the character and work ethic ones

That’s true, but just grabbing the 4th QB does not necessarily solve the problem. They need to be sure that McCarthy or Penix or Nix are any better than Jones plus if they grab a rookie QB they still don’t have any receivers - maybe could get one in 2nd.
True but drafting a rookie QB likely buys that management group another year or two. We all know Danny Dimes isn’t the answer so sticking with him is a death sentence -

Don’t they say this every year?
You never hear “It’s a typical draft class this year “Someone always says it deeper, better or worse than usual or the year before lol

Yea. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they take a QB or even move to #4 to do so. I was just meaning even if you are not going to there is reason for the Giants to make everyone think they are going to.
Absolutely for sure -

I've had this feeling about the Giants and a Quarterback for a while. But equally if you are sitting there at #6 and you have a specific receiver preference why not let it be known that you are looking at QBs to try and encourage Minnesota or Denver or the Raiders to trade up ahead of you into #4 or #5 which takes a potential wide receiver team out of your way and increases the chances your guy gets to #6.
True but Schoen really can’t be feeling comfortable hitching his wagon to Daniel Jones. Something needs to be done at the QB position or he and Dabollare going to be canned after next year

We were never trading for a high end WR that needed a new contract anyways .
