This is a tough one....on one hand, you have the 2nd best QB in the league, but on the other hand, there are some quality QB's in this draft.....unproven, yes, but every QB is unproven when coming out of college and playing their first season in the NFL.

I voted yes, only because if you can get enough draft capital in the next 2 years, you could actually build something special. It seems we're just piecemealing a roster together the past couple of years, but if you can create a structured foundation, you can have a somewhat juggernaut for years to come.....all on a rookie salary.

Would i want this to happen?......probably not, but i wouldn't be upset with it.

or... you could get a Josh Rosen and flop the team for another 10  years...  oh wait.. who was it that wanted Rosen? hmmmm.............................. :D

I remember Jimmy Johnson being a big believer in accumulating draft picks.  Cowboys hit on quite a few but had their fair share of misses.  I also recall his thoughts on kickers - “kickers are fungible”.

That Dallas Era, The Cowboys absolutely destroyed it on a few trades they made, getting themselves as good as they were during those years.

  3. There is a difference between choosing open targets and the feel of having to give more targets away to one player. Because of this.. Josh can just throw to who he sees open more then worrying about a specific player to get targets.. Relief? I would say so... How many INT's was forced towards Diggs and he simply was not open compared to other receivers....

JA will never publicly say its a relief... but personal level? Hmm.. makes you think,....

Absolutely not. The draft is deep enough with talent at the position that it would make no sense to make that move IMO. This is a draft where I would let the draft come to me.

I read this every year... And then it gets to our pick and the position you want is not available do to a (in this case WR run) before our pick and we are forced to do something else. Last year we wanted a WR.. and ended up with TE. It worked out but point being... A Bigger WR run could easily happen this year before our pick... and people will be saying post draft ... we should have moved up.

may I remind you, many people wanted Jordan Addison last year... He would have had a 1100 yard year with the Bills easy...

You see... its easy to bring up history on a bad move up/down but people have selective memories of who they wanted that would of been an amazing player to have on this team...

Do i want to move up? no..

Would I be upset if we did? heck no...

I think Johnny Newton is a steal at #28, I really do. He is a top 10 talent in this class for me. I absolutely love him.

However, I will make the same point I have made over and over.... the second best and most impactful player on the Bills in 2023 was Ed Oliver. He played 70% of the snaps and when you have paid a DL that kind of money you need them to be on the field in that range. Newton is a 3T. Can he play some 1T, sure. Hell Ed Oliver played a ton of 1T his second season with the Bills when Star opted out because the other DTs sucked against the run. But that isn't where you will see him to best effect. Newton can be a stud 3T in the NFL. But I don't think the Bills can afford to spend their 1st round pick on the second most settled position on the team after Quarterback.

He is two spots off the bottom of that list and yet just outplayed half those above him.

I am not into trading up for him, but if Latu got to #28 I'd pick him.

His point was in 7 drafts they have drafted exactly two defensive tackles - Oliver and Phillips. That is because they have spent way too many FA $$s there IMO.

he can make his own point with me. that's not what he said.

Miller hasn’t played at an All Pro level since 2018.  Smith was literally 2nd team All Pro last year.  If he’s “nowhere near starting caliber”, then I don’t know who is considering the guy who was first team All Pro last year is going to be 36 and also missed a couple of games.

there is just some logic on topics you cant argue with because it makes that much less sense.

yep. look at year before that.. and year before that...  going to be 34.. stop it...

Do you think Von Miller is going to play like All Pro this year?

Ive seen some differing thoughts in a number of threads on what this means now for the draft.  So posting this poll to see how people see these signings impacting Beane's aggressiveness of adding a WR in the draft.  Beane has made no secret about our interest in taking a WR, so this doesn't change that, we are still drafting at least one WR in the draft.

The questions now come down to when, how aggressive we will or won't be, etc.  We have now have youth below WR1 Diggs for a few years with Samuel, Shakir and Kincaid here (not counting Shorter until he shows he belongs in the league first).  So knowing Beane still is almost certainly taking a WR in this draft, how do you think it impacts Beane's approach to this draft in regards to the WR position now?

Day 2 round 2 I think is when they go WR.. I think to many players will creep up to us day one where we dont go WR.  While IOL does not look pretty... Having a top end OL has teeth...
