He played Hamlins spot against the Jets when Rapp was back. He def competed with Hamlin some.

Look like when Rapp went out yesterday Hamlin moved to Rapps spot and Bishop took Hamlins roll. I could be wrong though. Just thought I saw that

Can someone tell Micah (and everyone else) that Josh played 107 fewer snaps than Lamar?

That's more than a game and a half worth of snaps when you consider the average NFL game has 63 snaps.

Anyone think if Allen wasn't pulled so consistently from games that he couldn't get another 550 yards, 2 TDs and 5 1st downs???

MVP was an agenda for the Ravens, clearly.

Against the Giants the Ravens are up 28-3 as the 4th quarter starts and they get the ball back because of a turnover on downs. Lamar stayed in the game for another TD.

    Would Josh?

In a game that was 31-2 on Christmas day, Lamar stayed in for a drive to start the 4th quarter.

    Would Josh?

In a game that was 38-10 to end the 3rd quarter against the Broncos, Lamar stayed in to lead another FG drive.

    Would Josh?

Had a friend of mine start going on about Burrow yesterday and his yards and TDs. Had to tell him Burrow has like 175 more passing attempts then Allen, that almost 6 more games worth of attempts if you figure the average probably be around 30 for Allen.

This will be our toughest wildcard round game since Houston in 2019

the previous three years, we had some pretty easy matchups due to who the opposing QB was:

    2023 Steelers (Mason Rudolph)

    2022 Dolphins (Skylar Thompson)

    2021 Pats (Mac Jones)

Wasn’t Jones the Baby GOAT when he arrived in Buffalo on wildcard weekend?

Going to get flamed here, but in most other years Allen is the runaway MVP. He yet may still win it this year.  This is the best he has ever played.  No player means more to his team than Allen does, even Barkley.  Being the first NFL QB to get 40 TDs 5 years in a row is unreal, but MVP is a single season - regular season award.

Lamar Jackson going for 4000 yards and 900 rushing has never been done before - I know 17 games vs 16 but it is still unprecedented. He has 13 more TD passes than Allen and his TD/INT ratio is ridiculous.  His passer rating is 18 points higher than Allen's. This season is also the best he has ever played.

Burrow leads the league in passing yards and TDs, and has a higher passer rating than Allen.  He has lead his team with one of the worst defenses in the league to a possible playoff spot.  You can make an argument even with how great Jackson has been, Burrow has been the better QB.

Barkley's rushing season is more historic than Allen's.  His season is 8th best all time, and he is one decent carry away from a top 5 all time season.

In any other year Allen is MVP, but in this one year you can make a case he isn't even in the top 3.

Man over the past few weeks I either seen in games or in highlights of WRs or TEs standing in the endzone with absolutely no defender near them in. It’s like playing catch in his front yard. Stats don’t mean ***** if you watch the tape. Look at last night, stat padding. Houston game late in the 3rd up 20 and they pull out the play action on 1st down on the one yard line. Come on, give me a ***** break. Typical Harbaugh

The Ravens are averaging the 2nd most yards per play in league history.

Again, Josh will likely win, but it's hard to dismiss the historical season Lamar is having.

I feel bad for Burrow and Saquon.

Key there is the Ravens. Without Henry that does not happen. The benefits Lamar gets from having him in the backfield can’t be ignored. Everyone is running open in the passing game.  ***** looks easy and people seem to think Lamar is the only person making plays.

Possibly the best oline in the NFL

A te room that is top 5 and future star in Kincaid

    A young Kamara in cook

A possible future Brandon Marshall in Coleman

A legitimate number one and perennial pro bowl wr in Cooper

The next Andre Reed in Shakir

    Hollins is extremely underrated

Samuel healthy is important as we saw how good he was vs KC

Ray Davis would be rb1 on many rosters and reminds me of more instinctive, slightly faster Travis Henry

Rousseau has been one of the most dominant dlineman in the NFL this year. He reminds me of Charles Mann or Sean Jones

Oliver is one of the most explosive 3techs in the NFL

Von Miller can still take over a game and tilt the field

Our linebackers fully healthy are awesome

Benford has played at a borderline all pro level

We have another all pro in Johnson

The safety position is mixed with veteran's and youth

And we have maybe the best 3rd down rb in the NFL

There is a reason we are awesome 😎

    Is this a ***** joke

I’m telling you guys. And you can bookmark this post on page 72 and look at it on the night of February 8th.  Our guy, Josh Allen is getting the MVP and the voting won’t be very close.  There is nothing Lamar can do to win it this season… or Burrow or Darnold or Saquon or Goff.

Lamar already having 2 MVPs and his playoff resume have sunk him for this season.

If the Bills don’t make the Super Bowl at least Josh will get this hardware and it will be very meaningful for him, the organization and the City…and his future legacy.

I laugh at when people bring up Burrow. So Bengals could win and Denver lose and people think he should be in the conversation, but if he wins and Denver wins he didn’t do enough. Makes total sense 😂

Yeah, Lamar has 2 less INts, but 3 more lost fumbles (and 5 more total fumbles) than Josh this year.

1 being in OT, in his own territory that set up a missed Cinci FG try. That’s not really MVP play, if that’s was Josh they would hold that against him for 2 years. And then Henry has a big run after the missed FG that  basically gave the Ravens the W.

    Can't teach those instincts.

The TD run that was called back against the Dolphins right before half was one of my favourite plays this year. That counts and that game could be another blowout. Jmo. Think there was another bad call that stalled them during that drive as well.

Ah yes, there was a TD pass called back when they called Dawkins for holding, then he took it in on the next play if I remember correctly.

I think a big part of the backlash is a reaction to how many media members loudly declared Josh MVP during the stretch against KC, San Fran, LA and Detroit. Lamar's numbers were good enough that it was interpreted as disrespectful, especially considering how sensitive Lamar backers have been over the course of his career (in some cases, for good reason).

It also smacks somewhat of entitlement, though. Praise of one player isn't intended as disrespect toward another and Lamar sure as hell isnt the greatest QB to ever play the game as Harbaugh said last week.

This MVP result is going to leave a stink in its wake regardless of who wins. The NFL has reached a media saturation point where there are simply too many voices mouthing off baiting for clicks and views.

Lamar winning last year was disrespectful. The media brought this ***** on themselves the minute they put him on the top after his D had 5 INTs against the 9ers. It turned this award into a joke. Now some of them back pedaling because the reason they gave him the award works against him this year.

I mean our defense is built around a pretty unique system and a lot of its players are system players. Have we had any defenders leave our team and go be successful elsewhere under McD? I’d argue no. I can think of Levi Wallace, Tremaine Edmunds, Tre White, Poyer, Jordan Phillips. I’m sure there are more.  All those guys were successful with us and regressed after leaving the Bills.

Plus you think of players like Hamlin, who are subpar athletes, but are solid players for us right now is because they’ve been developed within our system. They have experience in the defense and how it functions. I can guarantee players like him will struggle in another system. Even Bernard would struggle if we went or a largely man defense in my opinion. Or at least he wouldn’t be nearly as good as he is in the current system. Same with Bernard. Keep in mind, the talent level on our defense is not very good. We really don’t have any elite players. Just players that are greater as a whole

Really your gonna bring up Tre and Poyer. Tre after 2 injuries and Poyer after father time took his speed. People have been saying Poyer has been regressing for years.
I’m not sure about Edmunds regressing in Chicago, can’t really comment on that. Levi was always the weakest link and maybe Phillips is just better when he gets that high amount of rotation the Bills Dlineman get in Buffalo.  Doesn’t mean everything is wasted.  You are basically saying we have no options but McDs system until Joshs career is over. That’s total bull####.

If the Bills can’t reach the AFCCG or Super Bowl and a HC change is made, it could be concerning though. A popular candidate from fans is Ben Johnson or someone like that. As you mention, there isn’t much of a track record for this type of change. A more logical replacement would be a proven NFL veteran HC. You cited Gruden as an example. When you have a superstar QB and a team that consistently wins 11 or so games a year, turning the keys over to a “ hot coordinator “ is suspect at best. You are trying to extract the final degrees of improvement from a winning team; to win a championship. Starting over is not an option.

    You’re not starting over.

  13. 56 minutes ago, VaMilBill said:

It’s not that I don’t want to win a championship It’s just my objective opinion on the matter.

if there was a coach that I believe could come in right away and win a championship I’d do it in a heartbeat. If you fire McD you lose all player development, now need to bring in new players to fit the new scheme, and rebuild the culture. That’s a couple year overhaul which takes us past Josh’s prime.

So we are basically in no man’s land. Which is why I think we sit pat with the current regime outside some major catastrophe

What are you talking about. So you think if we move on from McD all players drafted are wasted? That’s what I get from this post. We’ve seen team that are total ***** change coaches and have success. If a coaching change is made, you think taking over a 14-3 team would be easier then taking over a losing team. There is not many cases of solid coaches that have got fired because they can’t get over the hump in the playoffs, the only one I can think of is Dungy/Gruden in Tampa. They won the Super Bowl the next year.

Some people scared to make a change when Josh is at his prime, I get that. But if McDs scheme is problem that keeps dragging this team down in the playoffs, he’s either gotta change or gotta go.

If McD did get fired, the idea that we are starting over is completely foolish

No. It was easily his worst game since Houston. Two of the Jets bigger runs in the first half were him taking completely the wrong angle. He was late to his spot multiple times in coverage (that is theme at the moment he is just not anticipating and reacting quickly enough) and the Conklin touchdown was on him. I will be interested im how the graders see it and obviously I haven't watched the all22 but he was comfortably the Bills worst starter yesterday to my eye.

Guess I missed the two big runs in the first half. I did see him get run over once in the first half and there was one play where Romo said he missed the tackle but he got enough of the guy to get him down, the guy just got a few extra yards after contact. Thing about Coke in the run he was attacking. When guys were coming downhill he was going at them and if he didn’t get the tackle he was getting enough for someone else to come clean it up. Damar stands still and waits for the guy to come to him, so they are getting easy yards. And when Damar misses it’s bad, real bad. Lead to a lot of big runs this year. In the passing game Cole is off a bit, he did play a different position from last week so for a young guy that might be a little tougher. He’s gotta get better there
