You folks still don't understand the point. Regardless of how many picks Tyrod would have thrown or not thrown in the game Sunday, the Buffalo Bills we're not going to win that football game. It doesn't matter if Peterman throws a pick or Tyrod takes a sack. I don't hate Tyrod. In fact I don't think the Bills lose as drastically as they did if Tyrod played the first half. But they still lose. And they will lose against the Chiefs and they will lose against the Patriots regardless of the QB.

Now you can be delusional and think somehow Tyrod is going to become a franchise QB and lead this team to the playoffs and a chance for the Superbowl but it ain't gonna happen. 0% chance. And in all honesty, I would put the chance that Peterman can ever win a Superbowl at about 20%. Before the game Sunday I would have put it at 30%. There are 6 games to see if that number goes up some or down to 0%. That information is imperative for the future of this franchise. It's time to move on from Tyrod Taylor. Waiting 6 weeks is wasting 6 weeks.

Totally agree with the pimpman that Peterman should play out the string.

BILLS' QUARTERBACK CHANGE: How'll Peterman fit in this offense?

Peterman, the 171st overall pick this past April, is a classic pocket passer with C+ arm talent. Although he lacks the cannon to push the ball to every area of the field, he is a rhythm passer adept at getting the ball "out and up" quickly on deep throws. As a "connect the dots" passer from the pocket, Peterman is at his best working the short and intermediate areas of the field. Peterman's ability to rapidly work through progressions -- and get to his second or third option -- made him an effective passer at Pitt. He completed 61.1 percent of his passes and posted a 47:15 TD-to-INT ratio while averaging 8.3 yards per attempt during his two-year stint as a starter. Those numbers were complemented by the 518 rushing yards and three rushing scores Peterman amassed while directing Panthers' unique pro-style offense, which featured a lot of misdirection action (jet sweep) and option plays in the backfield. Although he isn't an A-level athlete or an explosive dual-threat playmaker, Peterman has enough mobility and movement skills to be a competent runner on zone-read plays and some designed quarterback runs.

Peterman could indeed be ready, generally speaking, but I have concerns about a rookie quarterback at the helm of this offense. The newly minted starter has a more traditional game that will alter the way defenses attack the Bills and their 15th-ranked running game. Instead of assigning a defender to monitor the quarterback on zone-read plays, defensive coordinators will use the extra man to crowd the box and neutralize LeSean McCoy. When this plus-one approach is combined with man coverage on the outside, the Bills could face as many as nine defenders in the box on obvious run downs.

With that in mind, Peterman must be able to threaten opponents with the deep ball to keep the safeties from creeping near the line of scrimmage. If he is able to get the ball to Kelvin Benjamin or Jordan Matthews on a handful of vertical routes, defensive coordinators will pause a bit before condensing the field with the loaded boxes. Thus, the pressure is also on the Bills' receivers to win their one-on-one battles on the outside against press coverage. Considering the lack of speed and explosiveness Benjamin and Matthews bring to the table, Peterman's back-shoulder-fade game will need to be on point for Buffalo's offense to flourish.

I really like this analysis.  It will be interesting to see if Shady has more chances to shake and bake.  If so, and Peterman gets 250 yards, then we have reason for hope even if we lose.

  3. If it's true that a good question is better than a good answer then Jmo should receive a Pulitzer, Nobel, and Flying Fickle Finger of Fate award.  Also, since I replied to this post, the board should take me off probation.  I mean, what does it take to get off probation?  I mean I believe that Peterman can do anything, and he is the best thing since the Sumarians and Hammurabi's Code.  C'mon, besides a Bills win, I need to get off probation.  It's important to me.

He is hardly a developmental prospect

RG3 and Kaepernick were developmental prospects...

He is a pro style QB

He has been in a pro system his whole college career and that's why he was touted as pro ready

if anything he was drafted in the 5th because most scouts saw him as having little upside and being a career backup fringe starter.

not something you take round 1-2

This makes the game in LA this Sunday the most interesting game in a decade.  Can't wait!!

Oh Jesus, man............a 6 1/2 hour drive to watch that filth against the Saints.

I know this doesn't help much, but i am so sorry that this team did that to you, man. In fact, the FO at OBD owes every one of its fans an honest apology for what we've all witnessed the past 2 weeks.

Hey, I drove 10 hours to see our Bills beat Bucs.  I think an alien took over TT's body 2 weeks later.  I agree that TT is toast.

Everyone who wants Peterman to see the field (myself included) is on that train because we know what we have in Tyrod Taylor. And it's not good enough. For those who argue Taylor starts because coaches believe he gives the team the best chance to win, there was another QB in New England who rode the bench for over a year for the same reason. Bill Belichek thought Drew Bledsoe gave the team the best chance to win and then Mo Lewis proved him wrong. Nobody knows anything, give Peterman the reins, if he bombs, we're in position to draft high. If he succeeds, draft competition for him and thank our lucky stars.

Getting 5 wins out of the gate has put us in this position.  If we were 3-6, then Peterman would be starting at LAC, and we would see if we need to use our #1s to draft a QB.  I think we need to see what NP can do.  C'mon coach, put him in!!!

  7. Forget all the stats.  My definition of a franchise QB is if you can put him on any team, that team immediately becomes a serious contender.  If the Bills had Brady, Rodgers, Stafford, Big Ben, Brees, Rivers, etc; we would have a couple Lombardi's by now, not watching in Jan for 17 years.  BTW, I don't see TT being that guy.  Go Bills  ... let's beat that NO franchise QB!!!

I'm still trying to figure out exactly what happened to Glenn between the Raiders and Jets game because he literally went from one of the best performances of his career to one of the worse.

Either way McD values guys you can depend on a weekly basis and Glenn has had way to many issues the last few years to justify keeping him around beyond this season. Best case we can land a 3rd or 4th round pick for him in a trade during the offseason.

Package Peterman and Glenn to move up to get the best QB, then use other picks on OL and nose.

Anybody that reads that article and watches the clips from every Bills drive against the Jets and still thinks Taylor was the problem is just a guy with an agenda.

Romo's best point of the night was that he must throw the ball away instead of a sack.  Difference between 3rd and 8 and 3rd and 15.  Can someone call TT and tell him to just throw it away??!!  He was better at stepping up in the pocket at the end.  Also, he needs to learn the Brady side step.  C'mon man, this isn't that hard.

Have to win 4 at home and one on the road. Not an easy task. I get the feeling that they will look back at this game and regret the loss.

Let not your heart be troubled.  We've got this.  Looking at first 8 games on opening day, most of us would have expected losses to Carolina, Denver, Atlanta, Oakland, and at least one more.  However, we're looking good at 5-3.  At the half way mark, the glass is half-full.  Going forward, I put Chargers, Miami twice, and Indy in the W column.  We'll definitely get one from Saints, NE, or KC.  Billieve me.  We've got this.

Whatever happens, happens. I'll be rooting for the Bills to win until they're mathematically eliminated from playoff contention. After that I'll focus on draft position. Then I'll watch the NFL playoffs, then college basketball, then the Masters, then finally I'll take a look at the draft.

Yes ... nice philosophy: the circle of life.
