  1. I'm a Ga boy who married a Bflo girl and we lived there while I went to UB.  Our 2 sons who are now in their 30s went to their first game then at Rich.  We've been hooked on the Bills since.  We now laugh about thinking that JP was the answer.  Now live in Northern Va and see Bills flags and car logos often, but a lot more Steelers, Boys and Skins.  Really, unlike Bflo, all the teams are represented here.  I think the DC area pulls from everywhere.  As a Bills fan, I fit in more here than in Ga.  Go Bills!!!

  2. I'm not a TT fan, but I'm glad he played better today.  He's just not the guy, but if he can put together 2 halves like the first today, we have a chance against Brady.   I don't think he can do it.  Looking at all the tiebreakers, our best chance is to win out, and NP might give us the best chance in shoot out with Brady.  I'm sure TT supporters would say that's not true, and I doubt coach starts NP based on TT's performance today.  We'll need a QB who can pass for 250+.  Pats will shut down Shady, and make TT throw.    I hope TT goes lights out in Foxboro.  Go Bills!!!

Not Taylor's fault. He can put up points if Dennison had any clue on how to use him.

The team's downfall is coaching. Again. For example, how would Tom Brady do in a wildcat or read/option offense?

So you agree that opponents best defense is to make TT be a QB??  I think opponents have TT's #.  He's been exposed.  If you can't throw in this league, just go home.

Any scenario involving the bills going into new england and beating them in a late season game that the Pats need is just not rooted in reality. No way they win that game unless something completely unforeseen happens.

I'm as hopeful as anyone, but to be completely objective, the team has gotten worse as the year has progressed, which is a bad sign for this coaching staff. I really don't see them beating Miami twice. Maybe not even once. Let alone the Patriots. You never know though, I guess.

My sentiments are aligned with QB.  I just can't get excited about any game, today's included, with TT throwing.  Shady is our only hope with TT at QB.  I think we have a better chance against Brady with NP's lasers, rather that TT's blind ducks.

  5. If we still had Sammy we would be in a better position for the playoffs now, and TT would be a better passer.  Once Sammy left, TT had to know that this was his last season as a Bill.  Darius still here would've make us better right now too.  Hopefully, a year from now, this year will be seen as a step backwards to make two steps forward!!??  I agree with these moves at this point, but the jury is still out.

I read out loud, and I like your sense of humor.  Pistol Pete is our only chance against pretty boy Brady.  We'll need that win.  NP can sling, zing, and win.  When was the last time TT put up 250+ to match Brady??  I'm hearing crickets.

IMO, I think the Bills beat the fins with either QB at home this week. I do not think Tyrod can beat the Patriots. He will choke that game away with indecision and holding the ball too long. It will be painful to watch. Obviously it will be tough for NP to win that game as well but his chances are better if he can play this week.

If Buffalo does lose to NE, I would rather see it with NP slinging the rock than Tyrod's little B word ass dumping it off and taking sacks all day.

From the mind of Pimpin to my ears makes me realize that I'm not the only football evaluation genius.  Give the rock to NP to sling and zing asap.  Go Bills!!!

It was the right move to start Peterman 2 weeks ago.  The wheels came off like no one could see coming after that tipped pick-6 - I'm not going to judge Peterman by this game.  I like what I saw from Peterman today and I'd like to see him continue to run the offense.  This is a strong-minded and resilient guy to come out and perform as well as he did today after that 1st half debacle against the Chargers - I give the guy credit - would have been nice if he scored, of course.  His receivers continue to not help with flat-out drops - not saying every throw was on target, but overall, Peterman's ball placement is excellent.  There was a lot of good things in this game - things this team can and will get stronger from.

I agree.  I knew that TT couldn't keep up with Brady and his wrecking crew.  Give the guy a week with the 1s and he'll get dialed in with the receivers, which will result in in less drops and more YAC.  If NP starts the last four, we have a better chance of sneaking into the playoffs.  I would like to see if he is the guy.  If he is, then we can spend our firsts next year on OL.  Go Bills!!

Drafting well and tanking are different things. The Saints were 7-9 last year and had one of the best drafts that I can remember. They will have the OROY and the DROY. Kelce and Houston were 3rd round picks. That’s good drafting not a result of tanking.

I agree that the Jags have a ton of talent. They didn’t tank and get good though. They were an awful football team that hit a few times in the draft. In addition they traded for a former All-pro DT and signed DPOY candidate. That wasn’t tanking working. That was good team building. They are a Super Bowl threat with a legit QB. They whiffed on that. Additionally, they whifffed on the 2nd overall pick with Joekel. Tanking hasn’t been why they are good. They’ve done a nice job in FA and hit on a few picks (Fournette and Ramsey).

The Titans hit in the middle of the 1st on Conklin and Lewan. They then signed Murray and improved. It isn’t because they added the franchise QB.

That’s what we are talking about, teams that bottomed out to get a QB. The Lions and Panthers it worked for but that’s pretty much it.

NP is never going to be more than a backup. It’s possible he may not be on the roster next year. Why are we so worried about “seeing what he can do?” If that’s code for “lose games once we are out of playoff contention” I can get behind that. They are drafting a guy either way. They have to get it right.

Can't really argue with your premise.  I don't think we'll ever get to see what NP can do.  I just know we'll need 30 points to beat Brady, and TT can't get'em.  Call me crazy, but quick-release maybe could if the OL would give him 3 secs.  To preempt your response, I know that's alot of would's and could's.

We had people banging the drum to start EJ for 2 years and now Peterman. Anyone that believes either of those is a better option is an idiot. I’m sorry but you are. That doesn’t mean we can’t upgrade from Tyrod, but those guys are way worse.

What do you think the Bills record would be if they had started EJ and Peterman since the start of 2015? My guess is that they would have beaten the Dolphins twice and the Colts in 2015, the Cardinals, Patriots, Rams, 49ers and Browns last year and the Jets and Raiders this year. That would have them at 10-33 over that span. That’s a .233 win percentage. Tyrod has a .538 win percentage in a Bills uniform with the same guys.

Again, upgrading this offseason is something that we are all fine with. Pretending that he is as bad as EJ or Peterman is ridiculous. Let’s stop using those two interchangeably.

Hey, I agree that TT is the GOAT at .538 win %.  The long-term best plan is to see what NP can do.  With TT this year, we'll probably miss the playoffs with 8-8 or 9-7, then he's gone, and we're back to square one.  However, it would be great to make the playoffs, but we're getting short-term gratification at the expense of building a champion.

I don't want to know what we have in NP. I want to make the playoffs.

Heaven forbid we make the playoffs and get embarrassed.

A lot of Bills fans agree with you about making the playoffs at all costs.  I fear that the costs will be one and done, a mid-round draft pick, and still no answer at QB.  I know that many Bills fans agree with me that TT is not the answer.  So we spend all of our draft capital on a QB that might not be the answer next year.  NT might not be the answer, but I'd like to see him play 2-3 games to see if we have the QB we need.  I think that would be a better scenario for us long-term than making the playoffs;  however, it probably won't happen.  We'll probably miss the 2nd season, and be in the same position as we've been in for 17 years with big QB questions.  On the other hand, if we win the Super Bowl with TT, I'll be very happy.  Go Bills!!

I'd like to see Peterman again, only next pre-season.  Anytime before that means that either TT is injured or the particular game is not winnable; neither of which any of us should want to see.  I reluctantly rolled with the idea of starting Peterman against SD, but that turned out to be a huge mistake in retrospect.  So given that, I expect TT back as our starter in 2018 - we're not going to start a rookie QB we just drafted and I'd be surprised if Peterman beats out Tyrod next summer.

This just in:  if the Pats are up 30-0 at the half, it will be Peterman time.

I like Peterman too...by no means do I have some kind heavy confidence in him to be a starting quality QB, but I also think the potential is there.  He will get another chance, 1 game doesn't define a career.  I would like to see him again, but he certainly played his way out of getting that shot for as long as the Bills are in the playoff hunt and we are currently the 6th seed again after the KC win.  Unfortunately for NP, the way the AFC is and with 2 games agains Fins and one against Colts, its possible the Bills will have playoff hopes late into the season, so no guarantee that shot comes again this year.  Its possible week 17 could be a Win and we are IN type of game.

Yes. I see that handwriting on the wall.  So we either miss the playoffs by a smiggen, or we get in and get embarrassed.  In either case, we don't really know what we have in NP.  We're in no man's land.  Also, we get a mid-round draft pick.  Very frustrating.  Go Bills!!

    • So Peterman gets another chance to be Peterman because Taylor is Taylor? It's hard to follow that logic. Taylor is better than Peterman, and it's not even close.
    • McDermott / Beane / Dennison took a flyer with Peterman because they thought their "system" trumped skill, experience, talent, and established record. And there ain't much "calculation" behind thinking that weak.
    • Peterman's "quick release" gives the Bills a chance in a "shootout" ? Could you please tell me how you came up with that? From NP's meh college career, maybe? Or perhaps his 50% passing in preseason for 5.4 yards per attempt?
    • I'll grant Peterman demonstrated he can put 30 points on the board. Unfortunately it's for the other team.
    • And that "quick release" you're so hot on? That just delivers the ball to the cornerbacks & safeties that much sooner.
    • The only people unaware of the Bills' abysmal offensive line are people who didn't notice it when Taylor was playing. I wonder why?

Yeah. I shouldn't be such a grouch; I know. But I live in a world where people are obsessed with one erratic throw Taylor made yesterday, and it was a completion no less. Meanwhile dead-enders plot the glorious resurrection of gawdforsaken Peterman, which is just pathetic. Personally I doubt he sees the field the remainder of the year. He made McDermott look like a fool, and Bills' coaches cannot afford to look ludicrous. The average career span for a Bill's coach this millennium is about 2.75 years, and the clock is ticking.

If McDermott needs another clown show I'm sure he'll just hire one of those Bozos who do kiddie birthday parties.

You may be right that TT is better than NP, but I don't think anyone really knows at this point.  Again, I think we'll get a chance to see NP again, maybe by the half of the next game.

Multiple things wrong with your post:

    1.  You might not think playoffs are important, but that locker room does.  Those guys in the locker room put everything on the line every Sunday including their health, their lives, and their future.  They don't do that for any reason other than for each other to win...make the playoffs...and try to get to a Super Bowl.  You don't take that away from them when its obtainable just because some fans THINK a 5th round QB with a poor College Comp % and Record might be some sort of spark or savior.

    2.  There is a time and place to take a look at Peterman, and during the hunt for the playoffs is NOT the time.  But he did anyways, and it 100% blew up in his face.  Why did it blow up in his face...for using poor logic.  He SHOULD have started TT against Chargers and then pulled him if struggling for Peterman.  No one would blame him for trying to spark the team to win a key game.  Then if Peterman was way worse, like he was, it was a clear path back to TT.  If Peterman played well in victory or defeat, he had clear path to stick with him.

I like Peterman as a developmental prospect...but his college resume is Meh, he only completed 50% of his passes in preseason, and his one start was atrocious and historically disastrous.  Most fans don't really understand players and football...if he goes back to Peterman now he will lose the locker room for good.  Jon Gruden lost his locker room and never coached again.  The ONLY time he can take a look at NP this season now without losing anymore respect or credibility is once the Bills are eliminated from the Playoffs.

Unfortunately, that probably won't happen till the last game or two of the season now that we beat KC.   Sadly, had he handled the situation better and started TT and pulled him if struggling, he wouldn't be in this position.  Or even if he had pulled NP after the 3rd INT in the first quarter when the game was still winnable, but he stubbornly stuck with him and ended up with about the only way he could lose big in the situation.

Hey Alpha dog, nice point with #2.  I agree.  I bet Peterman gets another chance at half time, because TT will be TT somewhere over the next 5 games.  Coach took a calculated risk with NP against Chargers because he felt that his quick release would give us a chance in a shoot out.  TT gives us no chance to score 30.  Coach's mistake was he miscalculated the ineptness of our OL.

I think it it possible to not hate TT, and think he's not the guy.  I wish TT was the guy, because I think he's good guy.   Yall are convinced that Peterman is not the guy.  I don't see why making the playoffs this year  is so important.  I'd rather see if Peterman is the guy, and use those 2 firsts on OL.

I don't think anyone can say that Peterman is not the guy.  I am resigned to the fact that he won't play as long as our playoff hopes are alive, but I would still like to see if he is the guy.  I'm just saying that I'd rather be eliminated as soon as possible, and take a better look at Peterman, than go to the playoffs with a QB that will not be here next year, and is not the guy.

I admit to being amazed about this. Taylor is (at minimum) an average NFL starter. He seems to be a consummate professional, a good teammate,  and a class act.

How in the world does he inspire such irrational hate ?!?

Really don't hate the guy.  I didn't hate EJ, JP and the rest.  All great guys, but great guys don't win the Lombardi.  I agree that TT is average, and he may get us to the playoffs.  I just don't think that gets us any closer to the Lombardi.  It we want to be great in 2-3 years, we need to find the guy.  Is Peterman the guy?  Many have already thrown him on the trash heap.  I would like to see him play for 3 games.
