My post was targeting the ineptitude of Beane specifically pointing out the Justin Jefferson debacle. But I guess you're right, I did mention " Wide receiver ". 🤔

I completely agree! As my original post stated ( which as usual was merged) It's BEANE! All the wasted picks, trades and signings on Defense for what?

We lost a first round pick, gained a head case ( Then lost him a few years later for NOTHING) and are once again having the never-ending conversation that ANYONE with NFL knowledge is having. I have friends that follow other teams that constantly are asking me " Who is the #1 WR on Buffalo these days?". It's EMBARRASSING to be in this situation. Why do you think Josh has to put on his Superman cape! I'm starting to think that Beane is not only Josh's Kryptonite, he's the Francises as well!

Yeah. I guess a crystal ball would have been beneficial with Edmunds, Rousseau and Elam. And No 1st round pick in 2020(Diggs trade) which coukd have need Jefferson. This would definitely be an upgrade but not a dominant WR1.

We've discussed Ad nauseam the lack of wide receiver talent surrounding Josh. The Brandon Beane drafts since becoming GM have been heavily focused on defense in the 1st round, save Dalton Kincaid, Tight End, in 2023. It's always baffled me that he has not complimented Josh with a WR1 via the draft. Aside from Ed Oliver, his 1st round picks have either been underwhelming( I'm being nice) or have been traded. If you believe in your QB, you surround him with receiving talent, right? This brings me to Justin Jefferson. Now i know at the time many of us liked the trade with Minnesota for Diggs in 2020. Sadly, Diggs, like he had done in Minny, wore out his welcome. OBD was warned and " Buyer beware" but BB moved forward, THUS, bypassing the opportunity to draft who many consider on of the top Wide receivers in the NFL. Justin Jefferson's yearly statistics show consistent excellence, starting with a historic rookie season and maintaining elite production across his first five NFL seasons. While his yardage and reception totals have varied, he has an exceptional average of over 97 receiving yards per game for his career, which places him among the league's top receivers even when compared to Hall of Fame players. His consistency has resulted in multiple Pro Bowl selections, an Offensive Player of the Year award, and consistently high per-game averages year after year. I feel making this ill advised trade was an epic franchise altering mistake, given the current state of our WR1 situation. How many times do we hear " Well, the Bills really have NO WR1"on nationally broadcasted games? And every team we play knows this and adjusts accordingly. At the time of this posting, NONE of our receivers are in the top 50 statistically. Our tight end Kincaid is #57. Chew on this for a minute.

With the current state of the team, I'm grappling with do I want to drive to Charlotte( I live on the SE part of NC near the coast) and pay big $$ just to be disappointed once again by bad coaching and undisciplined play. To then see Dalton beat the Bills would be crushing. I have too many memories of past Bills games in Orchard Park and the long ride back home to the Falls. The parking lot rodeo to get out etc. At least if I go to the game, the weather will be great

Blah blah blah. To not have a true WR1 to take advantage of Josh's ELITE ARM TALENT, alone, is worthy of dismissal! Everyone eats? Would you rather have a meal that " tides you over" OR a meal that fills you up and completely satisfies you? Josh not having his own Chase & Higgins is unforgivable. How about just one? PLEASE!

I've been following our Bills since 1973. Experiencing all the highs and the lows within this time frame. Over the years, like many of us here, I also have had the pleasure of watching many great quarterbacks over the years. What most, if not all of the great QB's had in common were the receiver's that helped elevate their game. Montana & Rice Marino & Clayton Manning & Harrison Brady & Gronkowski Just to name a few. Who is Josh's Jerry Rice? Beane has been criminally negligent in not acquiring a receiver that can showcase Josh's skills, etc. We finally aquire a receiver ( Diggs) that was potentially the answer, but then just kick him to the curb WITH NO REPLACEMENT! Josh's has arguably the strongest arm in the NFL but no one to throw deep to or at least keep the defenses honest. Dink and dunk. BS! Criminal I tell ya, CRIMINAL!!
