But we pretty clearly are missing a WR on the roster right now. Coleman replaces Davis, Samuel replaces Harty, Hollins replaces Sherfield. There's one glaring replacement still missing. And I'm not saying I expect any rookie WR we add to match Diggs, but objectively there is a gaping hole on the roster there.
This off-season/draft (so far) is a home run if we still had Diggs in his prime.
Im not saying we need Diggs in his prime, but we’re clearly missing one more bigger investment at WR.
I somewhat expect us to use the post 6/1 money on another mercenary pass rusher, which if we take a depth corner at some point today, rounds out a really strong roster.
But, as you point out, there’s a gaping hole in our WR room. I don’t think we need an Aiyuk, but we need something better than Mack Hollins at WR4.

I get the feeling that Beane is out of draftable grades.
Why would he want more picks then?- 2

What a weird draft.
Not bad.. just weird.
Everything we’re doing makes complete sense. We’ve added 3 potential starters at WR, S and C, along with a rotational DT and RB.
Just very business like. Nothing aggressive. No real gambles. Not much boom or bust.. just good players at positions of need, yet nothing that really moves the needle when it comes to Josh trying to slay Mahomes, while fighting off other teams like HOU, NYJ and BAL.

Interesting point made that he’s a Center only.
Could be why he’s still available, but would also indicate we took him thinking he can start at C.
Similar vibe to Torrence last year.
-
ESPN guys cheerlead every pick usually, but they’ve been really high on the Bills picks and just waxed poetic about Van Pran.
Lots of chatter that he could start this year.

I like it. He’ll make the roster and gives us a true Center as depth.

Too bad he didn't throw to Diggs a little more. Maybe he would have led us to Conference championship instead of another Pro-am.
Yea… a fumble and a massive drop, while taking yourself out every other play certainly means Allen should’ve forced him the ball.- 1

did we not draft a WR with our first pick? Any WR you draft here is going to be #4 on the depth chart best case scenario and the #6 or #7 option in the passing game.
I expect they might take a late round flier on a guy, but if they don't there are plenty of FAs available if they decide we need a player there (i don't think we do though.
Mack Hollins is our WR4Weve got people asking “what happens if Cook gets hurt” when we just had Allen throwing to IDGAF Diggs and JAG Sherfield in the Playoffs.

ESPN guys love Ray Davis, fwiw
Emphasized his pass catching ability, which is likely a big focus for our offense when it comes to RB’s.

This is the most “meh, ok” draft I can remember in a while.
I get what they’re doing. Every pick makes sense. It’s just plugging holes with good players.
Good players haven’t been the issue.
Was probably a dream to think they would find a way to get better this off-season.
Very stagnant roster construction so far, while the Jets (by default), Chiefs, Ravens and Texans all got better.

Hopefully we play the Florida Gators this year.

Who thought it was a good idea to bring out a politician?

Nick Wright is on X bragging about the Chiefs potentially drafting TJ Tampa, so I almost want to take him for the dunk.

I like Cowing a lot but be prepared folks he's a small slot WR.
Do the Bills view Shakir as an outside WR?
Because we have two slot guys and a guy who is outside but excels as a big slot.. plus two good Tight Ends.
What are we doing with a tiny slot receiver?
-
Three conclusions right now (IMO)
Beane has a plan we aren’t aware of and will be happy once it plays out
Beane is sold on restocking the roster with a bunch of cheap draft picks
Beane is trying to move around but failing to make a deal (we heard this was the case with them trying to trade up for Bishop)
Really disheartening start to Day 3 so far..

Gross.
This is going to be an incredibly frustrating half hour if we don’t trade up.
-
I could see the Jets taking a QB and WR in this round. They have multiple 4’s.

I think Keon is the Gabe replacement. They need a Diggs replacement. He isn't in the draft, but they have to try.
Im not really worried about a Diggs replacement.
I think Kincaid becomes our 1 and then we surround him with a talented WR room of WR2’s with different talents.
Im expecting to see a lot of extended handoffs where we get the ball to Coleman, Shakir and Samuel in space .. especially given the way teams sit back in a shell to defend Allen.

Kinda seems like a Gabe Davis clone. Would that be a win or would we be disappointed if he doesn't become a more complete player?
Im pretty good if we can get a Gabe Davis clone today on a rookie contract (hopefully with better hands)The Gabe Davis discourse became toxic because it became time to pay him or let him walk.

If we're not gonna have an impressive top three -- which, currently, we don't -- I'd like to go the Green Bay route and have a handful of good and diverse guys.
That's why I'd like to see the Bills add a receiver with their next pick.
The Packers have :
Watson
Doubs
Reed
Wicks
Melton
TE Kraft
TE Musgrave
No world beaters and no true number 1, but a good collection of players, and Love is able to spread the ball around.
The Bills have:
Coleman
Samuel
Shakir
Hollins
Shorter/Hamler/car salesmen
TE Kincaid
TE Knox
Coleman is their Watson (physically freaky, borderline WR1 type), Samuel is a decent to good number 2 in this league, and Shakir can hopefully be their Reed in the slot. They have better tight ends than the Packers. They just need one or two more dudes in that group. Hopefully they come today.
THISGet one more quality upside WR and I’m all in on the Packers approach for Allen.
Hollins is nice vet depth, but should he put WR5.

do guys like worthy, Mitchell, leggette, Polk, etc… not have game tape?
What does that have to do with Franklin?Obviously teams view them as better prospects.
This is a deep WR Draft. It’s how we got Shakir in RD5. Deep draft and teams had questions about how to use him.

Ok, I have a question to ask. Why are you guys so high on Franklin? What do you know that 32 NFL general managers do not? Three rounds in the books, and he is still on the board.
Game tape. The guy can play and provides something we still need, which is speed on the outside.
Obviously there’s a reason he’s falling, but some of it could also be how deep this WR draft is. Even a team like the Bills, who came into this draft as WR needy as a team can be, has taken one WR.
Not every team is going to take a WR in the Draft and now guys like him are relying on teams to start double dipping.
