  1. Ray Davis is a good player, but gives me heavy Devin Singletary vibes, albeit bigger and a better receiver.  That’s a good player in theory, but I just don’t get excited by it.  Hope he proves me wrong and plays every game like he did against UF.

Just felt like we could’ve scooped up an RB2 later.. maybe where we drafted our LB6 in the next round, and instead took a WR in RD4 … minor gripe though.

Im of the belief there’s another shoe or two to drop in the WR room before we get to camp, so I’m resigned to a wait and see approach.

Im actually coming around on Keon Coleman over McConkey.  Coleman has heavy Tee Higgins vibes, and as long as Allen is going to adjust to what that means, I see the vision.

Otherwise, I’m good.  Bishop, Carter and Solomon should all have roles on the Defense this year and Van Pran could absolutely challenge for the starting Center spot this Summer.

  2. All we can do is judge based on positional value, who they selected and their projections, but in doing so…

If Keon Coleman is the next Tee Higgins, I agree that this has a chance to be an elite class.

Got the next anchor of our Secondary in Cole Bishop.  A rotational DT with pass rush ability (which is important in our scheme).   Don’t love RB in RD4, but Ray Davis is definitely a good player & the offense doesn’t need to shift much when he’s in the game as he’s an excellent receiving back.

RD5 is where this draft class may seal the deal.  Similar to Torrence, we got a steal on the OL who slipped due to lack of position flex - Van Pran is a RD3 talent and could push to start pretty soon.   Solomon as a designated pass rusher could be an absolute demon off the edge in passing downs & it’s about time we jumped on this trend (see Bryce Huff types).

Thats 6 guys who I think may make contributions as early as this year.

Daequan Hardy has a good shot at making the roster with strong slot corner tape and massive punt return ability.   And we drafted a linebacker who will give us more young, athletic depth and be a core special teams.

8 guys who probably make the 53.   Some potential difference makers.  Picked up an extra 4th next year.

A lot to be excited with for this draft.. even from someone like me that really hopes there’s more to the plan at WR for this year.  Because we look good almost everywhere else on this roster.

One of the reasons he dropped is he is pretty much limited to Center. I think we're a much stronger unit if he ends up able to start, with McGovern back at guard.

Yup.  We got Torrence, a RD1 talent in RD2 due to lack of position flex.   Similar story for Van Pran, who has been pegged as a late Day 2 talent.

I kept getting the feeling this hyped up depth at WR was overblown.

Potentially .. maybe seems that way because so many went early.

We got Gabe Davis in the 4th and Khalil Shakir in the 5th in deep WR classes as well.  Are there those guys on Day 3 this year?  Well see..

Im an FSU fan and this just shows the culture that Mike Norvell is building at that school. This is two guys brought together through the transfer portal by him.  This was part of the reason why I wanted Braden Fiske so bad in this draft. Look at the passion in that man to want to be dominant.

This is part of the reason why I’ve been telling you about Keon Coleman and the type of guy he is as well.

Great video it made me tear up for a number of reasons including the fact these guys got shafted out of the opportunity to play for a national title(No I don’t think they would have won)

With Travis, and avoiding UGA, I think FSU would’ve won the Natty tbh.

  6. TBD on a lot of these picks, although I do think it was a very strong Draft.

That said… I love the picks we made that could be viewed as steals.

-Coleman is a guy who could be very meh or become a legit WR1.  I’m coming around on him.

    Love:

    Van Pran & Solomon

Van Pran could legitimately move McGovern back to Guard and for a team that plays a heavy DL rotation, it’s about time we had a designated pass rusher.

Except he has us in cap hell. So he doesn't have much to work with.

Why didn’t we just take the full Josh Allen restructure?

We’re in good cap shape with the Diggs trade.  They knew this was a possibility when they pulled the JA lever.

What was the point of not taking it all and purposefully being in this position now…

And KC won with a 2nd round rookie Rashee Rice as their lead WR.

Can we stop this …. I beg of you.

Mahomes has Reid calling plays, the best interior OL in the NFL (plus generous OL officiating in the Playoffs) and Travis Kelce.

Also had a Top Tier Defense last year.

Also… It’s not for lack of trying.   They’ve gone back to back to back premium WR draft picks.  They traded for a former 1.  They signed MVS and Juju.  They now signed Marquise Brown.

    They actually TRY.

Reminder: They have the best offensive skill player in the league in Travis Kelce over the last _____ years & probably the greatest QB ever when his career ends

He’s talking about NE… who also had Gronk.

So.. if Kincaid becomes generational, sure, we can have this discussion.

  10. There’s no way any GM worth their salt takes a RB2 in RD4 over WR help because “other needs took precedent”.

He can say whatever he wants.

id be SHOCKED if we don’t sign a FA or trade for a player at some point.

Even if he likes what Shorter and Shavers are showing them behind the scenes, it would be absurd to not draft another WR for competition at WR5 or WR6 given the fact both of them have shown zero in an actual game yet.

We seemed to be actively avoiding WR…

    RB2 in RD4.  LB6 in RD5.  Come on…

  11. Y’all are way too down on this roster…

(I say this under the belief we add/trade for another legit WR)

    Elite QB

    Good OL

    Good RB’s

    Good TE’s

    (TBD) WR Room

    Strong DT Rotation

    Von-Dependent DE Rotation

    Good LB’s

    Good CB’s

    Solid Vet Safeties + Bishop

  12. This team is one quality WR and quality DE away from me thinking we got better from last season (while getting younger and building up cap space & draft picks in ‘25).

Feels like we can/will definitely do one of those things when the post 6/1 money frees up.

Can they do both?  Or maybe Solomon truly is a Bryce Huff player and Toohill/Jonathan battle it out for DE4, while Solomon is DE5/Designated Pass Rusher.
