It's going to end up being someone like Pence. The only one who would take the job. I have no idea why some young Republican would hitch his/her wagon to a one term very unpopular (even if he wins) President.  I can't see someone like Rubio or Cruz or Johnson or DeSantis take the job if offered.

    Tulsi should be the pick.

Former Dem, but more conservative than half of the “Republicans” out there.

Has vocally stated she would accept it.

I wonder if any receiver would be good enough for the majority of you here... it seems like we have a good story with him popping up everywhere and already he's not nearly good enough and he hasn't even played a single down yet.

I think the majority of this fanbase just wants another legitimate WR.

There are some who won't be satisfied unless we bring in a WR1 and I think that's misguided.

However, we've now seen two seasons where our WR room failed us in the biggest moments.  Two years ago, entering the playoffs, we were signing street FA's to play meaningful snaps.  Then, last year, Davis gets hurt at the end of the season and Josh Allen WR3 is Trent Sherfield, who gave us literally nothing against the Chiefs.

For me, personally, if we would've double dipped at WR in a meaningful round, I would've LOVED this Draft.   If we sign an OBJ, Gallup, MVS or Boyd in June, I'll feel a lot better about this Draft.

I don't think we need an Aiyuk, but I do think we need one more solid piece to rotate in at WR4 and finally give us some depth.

Chiefs, Bengals, Ravens, Jets all have a WR4 that's either a solid vet or recent meaningful draft pick.  I was/am just hoping for that.

Many fans, esp on here, want a big name, splash, flash whatever gets ESPN and any other talking heads liking us. And they also have a bad habit every offseason getting a player or three stuck in their heads and wont budge off of them no matter what, and that happened this year.

The flavor of this offseason was an X WR, or a guy with size and speed to "take the top off a defense". KC hasn't had  one since they traded Hill and still won a couple superbowls. SF has two really good WR's and a great RB and good TE, but still not the guy who purely takes the top off per say, and kick butt.  Detroit just gave a huge contract to a guy who is considered the best all around WR right now. His 40 time? 4.61.

Beane was smart, KC was going to get Worthy no matter what and he got them to give us a 3rd instead of making a pick and them getting him anyway.  Look Beane is far from perfect, and who knows how these guys work out, but we are a better team today than last Thursday morning, I dont care what others say, its the truth.

The Chiefs had MVS last year and also added Brown and Worthy this year.. so, clearly, they value having speed on that roster.

They also drafted Skyy Moore, who ran a 4.41 40.  He hasn't worked out, but that was an investment they made.

For the record, I don't think we need an Aiyuk.. but I do think we would be smart to add an MVS this Summer.  Just to have the threat of speed on the outside.  Maybe Shakir/Samuel can play out there more than we think, but I'd like someone who's a true outside speed threat.

Opposing DCs aren’t stupid. In general they moved to playing a lot of coverages like two deep to take away deep throws down the sidelines. That reduced explosive plays league wide. But I think the problem is that you need to be able to threaten deep or defenses will play more MOFC coverages like C-1 and C-3 that are better against the run and seam routes. No decent DC is going to sit in a C-2 and C-4 all day against a team that can’t reliably threaten deep.

This is why I'd be completely fine if we just signed someone like MVS this summer.

The Offense will funnel through Kincaid, Samuel, Shakir, Coleman and Cook but we could use a guy like MVS to make team's respect the deeper parts of the field.

  5. Bills absolutely crushed the 5th Round.

They knew they needed contributors in this Draft and took two guys with Day 2 talent in RD5.

Now how did two guys who have Day 2 talent fall to RD5, you ask?

Van Pran is a Day 2 talent at Center .. but that’s really all he can do.  His body build doesn’t translate well to Guard.  Kromer will certainly cross train him for an emergency, but like Torrence dropped because he’s only a Guard, Van Pran dropped because hes only a Center. …but a dang good one at that.

Solomon is a Day 2 talent at pass rusher .. but that’s really all he can do.   He’s not built to be a traditional rotational DE.  He’s a pass rush specialist.   It’s about time a team like us, that typically has 5 Gameday active DE’s, got ourselves a designated pass rusher.

Beane definitely made it clear to tamper expectations on a trade, and clearly said post June 1st that they'll have "some room" to make a move or two.

With Solomon drafted, I definitely feel a little better and liked him as a prospect.

I'm with ya, hoping for a DE and WR post June 1.  Ogbah and Gallup are my guesses.  Ogbah on the decline, but can still be a DE4, and Gallup on a 1yr prove it deal.

Casey Toohill signed for $1m, I'm expecting he's in competition for DE4/5, with Kingsley, Solomon, and a potential FA.

Concern at WR is finding a WR4 for the boundary/can be successful downfield.  Beane will be playing with fire risking that on Hollins, Shorter, Cephus, Hamler, and Shavers.  I think Hollins is a decent WR5, due to ST value but I'd like to see Shorter get that role and for us to keep one of above or UDFA as Wr6.

Gallup, Chark, MVS can all fill that WR4 role.  Just think Gallup makes most sense on a prove it deal, but if Beane can get either under the cap issues then I'm for it.  These guys aren't expected to bring more than 300-400 yards but give us depth at a spot where we just have a rookie to depend on.

Id be fine with Gallup.  I don’t think we need an Aiyuk level receiver to compete for a Super Bowl.

I do think we need a legitimate rotational caliber WR to go with Coleman, Samuel and Shakir & provide insurance for injury.  Gallup would provide that.

  7. Polls are insightful in the sense that they give you an idea of the mood of the country and/or individual states - but they don’t mean anything.

Republicans are still running 1990’s campaigns and until that changes to match the legal ballot harvesting efforts of Democrats, they’ll stay at a disadvantage.  …..and polls dont account for that.

That being said.. Democrats should worry that Trump seems to be getting more support as time goes on.  The trials aren’t damaging him, yet.   We’ll see if they do.

It’s likely Sedrick either earns the starting OC job in training camp, or he doesn’t make the 53 and they hope to sign him to the PS.  He’s just not an OG.  Not nearly big/physical enough.  I would suspect that he gets every chance to win that staring OC job, as this was clearly a pick directly from Kromer.

Van Pran is a top 5 center in this draft.

He fell to RD5 because of his lack of position flex.

If we cut him, he’s not making the PS, and that would be an absolute joke of a draft pick.

More likely if he doesn’t win the starting spot, he makes the 53 as the inactive OL until he is ready and/or is needed at C.

Walking away with 7 of Jeremiah’s top 117 players when we started with 2 top 100 picks just might be Beane’s best work as a GM short of landing Josh.

DJ is year in/year out one of the best.

This is wild.   Really reflects our team building tbh (both good and bad).. None of the projected elite guys but absolutely crushing it with the above average/very good players.

A microcosm of our rosters around Josh Allen.

A post-June 1 trade for a vet WR is still on the table.

    Post 6/1, I’m 100% convinced we’re either signing a mercenary EDGE or signing/trading for a legitimate WR.

Not sure if we can get both done, but one of those things is happening.

    Just now, Process said:

Beane stated very clearly in his press conference that a trade is not happening. Of course he could be lying, but I tent to believe him on this.

He was guarded on how he phrased that given our current cap situation and what it will look like June 1st.

We lost to the Chiefs because we could not stop them, not due to lack of wideouts.  I sat at midfield - the yawning green spaces between our D-Line and safeties were effortlessly exploited by Mahomes.  If Bernard and Milano played we win that game going away.  I think we could have won if the coaches had just trusted Dorian Williams instead of washed AJ Klein or broken Tyrell Dodson.  I would have liked more corner and edge in this draft maybe, and I would have really liked someone like Thrash or Baker later, but I am a lot less worried about WR than our D.  We will miss a near-washed Diggs and zero-catch Gabe a lot less than people think.  I love Gabe as a Dude, but he was only ever good because of Josh.  But WR and D should be better, regardless.  We are getting better while getting younger and cheaper.

Bills lost to the Chiefs because of two things.  If one of them doesn’t occur, we win.

1). A decimated defense.  No linebackers and Rasul Douglas was playing at 30%.

2). WR play.  Diggs was an absolute joke and without Davis, Sherfield completely **** the bed in his opportunity to play his role.

If we had a healthy defense OR better wide receiver play we win that game.

I do think our Defense could legitimately be better than last years (when healthy).  We’re a healthy Von or mercenary DE signing away from a top tier defense.

Offense.. not sure.  Good OL, RB’s and TE’s.  WR’s are definitely wait and see.

I think receiver from the backfield is a big thing they were looking for.  I think Brady's offense is going to be that every skill position on the field is going to be a potential target for Josh to spread the ball around vs just WRs (also I think why they don't seem to be as worried about the "true #1 WR" as much since everyone will be an option in some different way)

    Completely agree.

Bills clearly don’t want to have to take away an element of the Offense when they rotate RB2 in for Cook, and with Ray Davis they don’t have to change it one bit.

Davis isn’t running outside WR routes like Cook can, but he is one of the better receiving backs in this draft.

  13. Kromer surely wants Van Pran to be able to play Guard in an emergency, but the reason a very good Center was available in RD5 is because he was literally built to play Center and not much else.

If he’s unable to beat out McGovern and send him back to LG, it would be interesting to see if he’s Gameday Active with his lack of position flex.   He’s making the 53, but if he doesn’t win the spot, you’re likely not activating a depth OL who can only really play one position.

Literally every team has JAGs battling it out for 4-6.

    Fair”ish”

Chiefs WR4 is a recent RD2 Pick in Skyy Moore

Bengals WR4 is a recent RD4 Pick in Charlie Jones

    Jets WR4 is Allen Lazard

    Ravens WR4 is Tez Walker

    Bills WR4 is Mack Hollins

Guess it depends what you think of Hollins.   A lot of other teams have guys with recent draft hope as their WR4.

  15. 1 minute ago, Roundybout said:

Isn’t that the case with most teams’ WR corps though? I mean what team honestly has pro bowlers at WR4-6?

    Don’t need a pro-bowler, I just think we need 4 legitimate WR’s.

    We have 3 currently.

Mack Hollins a solid WR5.   WR4 puts him in the rotation, which isn’t where I think he should be.

  16. So this has to tell us that the Bills viewed Cephus as a better low cost investment than a Day 3 WR?

Beane clearly had this in the works yesterday and mentioned it in his press conference.

    I just don’t get it.

After Coleman, Samuel & Shakir, we have JAG’s battling it out for 4-6.
