Shhhhh..... Some people here were disappointed with the playoffs as it cost the Bills position in the draft and set the franchise further back.
The idea to pay market value for marquee positions is upsetting to some.
The idea of 300 yard passing games and excitement on the offensive side of the ball is anethma to many here.
a stout defense & 13-10 wins is their idea of success.
cmon, even when Sammy was healthy Tyrod had trouble finding him.
rmbr when Sammy got upset at his number of targets?
Tyrod to Sammy worked a few times, not enough to be game changing. was it Sammys fault, no it was on the QB. but the revisionist history here makes me smh.
Sammy was tossed because he was unreliable, and was going to want more money than he deserved at the time. front office got what they could and moved on. Sammy still needs to prove consistency over a period of time.
KC overpayed for a receiver with his history and an ok rebound season with the Rams.
theres alot going on with the NFL career of Sammy Watkins, some good, some bad, some his fault, some not. is he a perennial 1000yrd 10 td guy? no. 10mil/yr guaranteed for what hes done? meh.

Why would you fine the players for doing something good? Every player should kneel during the anthem to protest this disgusting rathole of a country.
please, dont turn this political, i didnt say i personally would fine them.

while i applaud Kap for his conviction about parts of society he disagrees with, he wont be an NFL starting QB anytime soon. the owners are still trying to figure out a way to get the players to stop the kneeling, and they wont, short of fining them everytime they do it. Kap is a headache no team needs, regardless of how dire a QB situation is. its gone beyond whether or not he can play.
he made a stand for something, good or bad, and like most people who throw the middle finger at authority, authority fights back, and the person who went out on a limb gets bent over multiple ways.
if youre gonna start a fight, u better make sure u can win it before u start it.

best thing Cutler could do for the NFL is head into the analyst booth, get bored with it after 3 weeks and go away permanently.

Mack really wanted to be a Bill.........said Sammy stole his city from him.
man i wanted him on draft day, would be great to have him back in this city.

to be fair, keenum signed a 2yr deal. doesnt take Denver out of draft a future QB mode.

this is how everybody should settle differences on this board, no name calling, condescending words, just this. well done.

always liked Poz, watching him play he seemed slow tho, turned in a much longer career than i expected him to. good luck in the future Poz.

the book on Suh is hes dirty, thats it. never been mentioned as lacking intelligence, not motivated, bad locker room guy. if anything he wants the players around him to get better, and the team to succeed.
if he can be had for a decent # and years. our DT situation would be taken care of in spades. Star eating up 2 blocks, Suh causing havoc up the middle of the field, Jerry on the edge. sounds deadly. sounds like alot of sacks or more picks for our ball hawking secondary.
price has to be right tho.

player grades and stats can be skewed, especially when they relate to a game with as many moving parts as NFL football. Teams pay PFF for raw stats. i dont believe the teams pay for PFFs analysis of said stats.
-
Allen is the guy everybody is using as a smokescreen this year, nothing more. wouldnt be surprised if he drops to the bottom 3rd of the 1st round at the draft.
-
without a reliable QB, who can actually throw the football, (ya know, what QBs are supposed to do) the process means nothing.
so far so good, OBD has made logical moves that put the team in a better position for the near future, but without that QB, wont mean anything.
-
i wish Sammy well, i didnt shed a tear for him when he was traded.
he has the ability to be top ten receiver in the league, he got traded purely because of the risk.
u cant overpay for a guy who was hurt as much as he was while playing here.
has he turned it around. mbe, is he worth 10mil per? mbe.
will be real interesting to watch next season, if that young QB can find him.
if not, Sammy wont be happy.

Looks like someone got hung up on. I don't really grade other peoples opinions, but John Murphy is such a Bills homer it's hard to listen to.
isnt he basically a paid employee of the Bills tho? kinda his job

Many people complained about Dareus saying he didn't do anything and them complained about how bad they were after he left. Sometimes their importance isn't noticed through measurable personal stats like tackles and sacks
it wasnt even about Dareus' stats, it was his availability. u dont pay out to a guy whos unreliable. 2 straight years where he was oft-injured. hes no good to anybody if hes not on the field. add this to his off field shenanigans, the terrible contract he had, not hard to see the reasoning behind the trade.

There were reports out of the combine from anonymous GMs that he was the guy blowing teams away in the interview/film room process.
thats excellent news then.

really not sure what Brooks is seeing. We need a QB that can at least keep defenses honest, meaning, is some sort of threat in the passing game
Keenum, Bradford, not an upgrade in that department over Tyrod?
I disagree.
-
Super Bowl is success. So no, it wasnt a success. After all, winning the title is supposed to be goal.
being happy with a playoff appearance, no matter how long its been, ill pass.
-
Bradford doesnt excite me, but when hes healthy hes an above average QB.
sign him if:
1. Hes healthy
2. he accepts an extremely cap friendly 2yr deal.
3. He promises to not get hurt
-
every top QB prospect this year has multiple warts depending on who you ask.
if we could get Mayfield around 10, for a reasonable price, it would make sense.
Mayfield strikes me as a guy who wouldnt mind playing here, he is accurate, showed he has the arm, can make the all the throws.
my biggest worry with Baker is his ability to read defenses, cuz frankly, the offense the sooners ran is not pro friendly.
the biggest need for any QB to succeed in the NFL is field awareness. Physical gifts are important, but the subpar QB play by 3/4 of pro QBs
is directly related to the terrible offenses run by most of the colleges. Spread/Air Raid QBs, ill pass. These offense are used by coaches with QBs that cant read the field well, and thats fine, but it doesnt allow QBs to be NFL ready when they're drafted.
Accuracy, field awareness please.

people are passionate about this team, each person has an opinion about this topic. I personally wont "hate" our starting QB at the start of the season. I may not agree with whomever it is, but i sure wont hate him. I will support him and cheer the team on until, i see a body of work, whether good or bad, and make a logical decision as to whether or not to continue supporting said QB.
I would hope the majority of Bills fans will be this rational when the season begins. I suspect they will be. Go Bills!

You're the belligerent one my friend
I get along with everyone and even often calm the convo down. QB is a sensitive topic in these parts and bristling posts beget bristling responses. Clearly we see this topic differently and I am excited for what's to come. I trust you are as well.
clearly you and i see the definition of belligerent differently.

Gosh how swell of you! We compliled picks to grab a franchise QB which haven't had for decades. Much smarter football people than you or I have deemed this an outstanding year to draft a QB. So you're weak-kneed on using our draft capital in a QB rich year. That's fine, maybe you can compile the lists of LBs, DBs or any position that made their team champions. If McBeane deems trading picks to move up, excellent. I'm tired of mediocrity.
Hell yes. But I'd rather have the key position locked down to lead us out of suckage. Bad teams with great QBs often contend.
again, u seem to be using me to push your agenda and you didnt read anything i previously posted. you cherrypicked one line out of context and went to town.
the discussion was about risk aversion. take your weak knee crap elsewhere. at no point did i say definately dont take a QB.
few of u around this forum seem to jump in late without taking the time to read the discussion thoroughly. its like youre itching for a fight and gonna try to stir one up no matter what.
its a discussion, not a winner take all. grow up.
